So i am taking a trip out west in a month and am going to be staying in golden (kicking horse) with access to a car to revelstoke.  What are the best areas to hit on the two mountains i dont mind hiking to areas and wanna ride some challenging stuff and i have been studying the trail maps.

Can't tell you anything about Revelstoke (ReachBen can though), but I can tell you a lot about Kicking Horse.

Don't know if you're an intermediate or an advanced rider but the 'White Wall' and ther 'Feuz Bowl' are asome! Take the Stairway to Heaven (what's in a name) hike up for 10-15 minutes and there they are. The CPR Ridge is cool too, but not as long as the other twos not hiking needed for those.

Try out the 'Bowl Over', need to hike for 30min didn't go there cause I was still recovering from a knee injury, friends of mine did go down there.

Have fun man, damn I wish I could join you!
Life is hard, thank god powder isn't :-)

Thanks for the tips those both sound like good spots to hit, i want to really challenge myself while i am out there so i will give them a shot, im hoping for a little snow when i get out there but hear that the glades dont get tracked out to fast so i am looking forward to that.  What trees are good i see them kinda scattered all over the mountain.

good post.. exactly what info i was looking for. I am heading out that way in late february.. I am coming from the west coast (the oppostite direction as you) so I get a few warm up days at silverstar and big white.

I hear nothing but amazing things about revelstoke. Like it's the next whistler.. except it isnt over developed and full of toursits (at least yet). take some pics and post if you get a chance.

Maybe you can go cat boarding while your there. That has to be a great experience. In the meantime focus on riding a little more technical on your home mountain so you can rip it up while your out there. I've been boarding for 12+ years and was on the beginner run with a coach working on correcting my bad habits :)

happy riding bro.

Yeah revelstoke is exactly what you heard it is. Small town vibe with big mountain features. There is some really good spots inbounds but if the mountain is tracked you can always find good powder but lots of hiking. The north and greely bowl dont get any sunlight so explore and you can find good lines weeks after no snow fall.
