Hello Folks,

is anyone aware if any snowboarding company is having a demo day in the Barrie / GTA area? If so, when are they having it and where?

I am a new snowboarder and am anxious to try new equipment.

Thanks,
Jay

Burton does like a billion a year.. I won't list them all here because there are way too many and I'm too lazy to type that all out.

I'd post a link but because you have to select a country first it would just boot you back to the home page anyway.. so here's how to get to it:

www.burton.com > News + Events (top menu) > Events (under News + Events header) > Demo Tour (middle icon under the Global Series stuff) > Demo Tour Stop (in 1st drop down.. don't pick "super" since there isn't one coming here) > North America (in next drop down) > Ontario (in last drop down) > GO (button)

There ya go!

Other than that.. there was an Atomic demo last weekend, and that's the only other thing I knew of..

I'm going there this weekend! Will they have it on Sunday? They should since it's international go snowboarding day AND our meet..

I wonder if they'll have boots. I kinda think not, but I'm very interested in their boots so I wouldn't mind trying some out.. and having someone sell them to me. Because I like PK (product knowledge).. and who better to give me PK than the sales rep!

Ya, they are supposed to be demo'ing stuff on Sunday as well.. I'm hoping to try a new board out for size..

I had a pair of Ride boots and wouldn't recommend them unfortunately... I really didn't like them and moved on to Salomons (awesome) and then Northwaves (also awesome) but of course if you got to demo them, then why not.

I don't know about Northwave, but aren't Salomons really narrow? I had ride recommended to me because of wide feet, so maybe that's why they didn't work for you. I've never tried them so I have no idea, but I was reading up on their tech a few months ago and they seemed like they'd be some pretty solid boots, provided they fit properly..

You are dead right, my feet are very narrow.. I didn't even think about that so very good point.

Hopefully they will work out for you!

So, without knowing I ended up stumbling across a Burton demo day at Blue yesterday... I tried out the new Feelgood with Lexa bindings...

The board itself was pretty nice, the bindings however not so much.  I really don't like how you can't use any other bindings with their boards and the new "channel" system...

After that demo, going back to my own setup made me REALLY appreciate how much I love it!  Now I just need to find something comparable in a newer model.

yeah, some guy tried to sell me one of the new burtons with the est system... i said no thanks since i don't want to buy new bindings too! and even their regular setup trips me out a bit with only 3 holes instead of 4... seems like a pain in the ass to find non-burton bindings that are compatible.

i was sad the ride demo never happened... i would've liked to try out one of their twins. plus i'm having issues with my ratchet releases and they might've had some replacements.

Forum was at MSLM yesterday for a few Barrie shops i think. And i had a demo with work in which Burton, Ride, K2 and Salomon were there snowboard wise, there was a bunch of ski companies as well as Oakley with goggles.

I would like to note that i very much enjoyed the Burton Lipstick (their v rocker board for women) and i also enjoyed the Salomon Lark which was alot of fun.
Unfortunately Ride didn't have anything in my size, and sorry to say, their rep was an r-tard saying that i'd be more than fine riding on a 144 (when my 2 boards at home are 147 and 151 and even my 147 feels small to me now). Needless to say, the 144 Tokidoki rode like shit and from the looks of it, they didnt take care of any of their boards. Almost all of them had rusted and dull edges, even for their all mountain boards (i understand a park stick being a little detuned...but comon....they hadNO edges at all...on anything.)

But otherwise, a real fun day at Moonstone trying out new stuff

i call Mount St Louis Moonstone, and they said they were having a Burton Demo Day on January 17th. However, it doesn't say that on Burton's website nor Moonstone,

It's someone playing a dirty trick one me or it's really on the 17th?
