Just wanted to know where some good spots are - I went to Boardsports the other day. Pretty nice folks there.

I usually go to Hogtown or Sporting Life.. or if I'm in the area I go to Skiis & Biikes in Mississauga every once in a while.

there's a surf paradise in burlington on guelph line... i work on guelph line. it's dangerous.

i like corbett's because they provided me with my fantabulous onesie. plu sthey always have an entire room full of clearance outerwear, which makes it almost affordable for me. that's in oakville.

surf paradise is all over the place now.. they closed a few shops to open other locations.

i'm obviously similar to kendra... always done surf paradise.  bought three full setups there... corbetts is great for older stuff on great deals (think whiskey militia prices on past years soft goods) and they've got a lot of selection for helmets, goggles and such... besides that, i've only bought stuff at skiis and bikes in collingwood, boredom in waterdown and mcmaster sports in hamilton.

Yeah Corbetts is good. They were the only place carrying my board and it was a good deal. (at least I think.. considering I couldn't find it anywhere else I couldn't really compare prices, but I think it would likely sell for about $100 more at other shops).

Another place I always go if I'm shopping for snowboard stuff in Oakville I always go to Hustler. I like that shop, plus my friend works there.. I think he's a manager or something. But yeah.. good dudes work there.

Sporting Life: Yonge & Eglington
Boardsports: Couple blocks south of Sporting Life
Sanction: Yonge & Steeles
So Hip it Hurts: Spadina & Queen
Hogtown: Spadina & King
Skiis & Bikes: Don Mills * Eglington

These are the ones local to my area, which is the TO area. Wish there was a Surf Paradise around, saw them @ the snowboard show and they had really nice stuff

meh... boots, buy in person... boards... we bought 3 last year on-line... they seemed like amazing deals, but by the time they got to us and any added fees like shipping or border shit got slapped on it, they would have been just as cheap to get at an end of season sale here.

i have a house in florida...so worst comes to worst...i could always use that address for stuff online that can't ship to canada.

but either way, i always believe that boots have to be fitted in person. if anyone else is like me, i'd end up sending back boots about a dozen times before i found something that felt right, so i might as well just go to a shop and do it all at once. as for boards and bindings...i like to demo stuff, borrow from friends to see what i like...then i shop around for the best price...if that happens to be in canada, then bonus (i'd rather keep the money here)...but if the price is radically cheaper in the US...like 50-100 bucks, then i have to save myself and buy there....atleast while i'm un-employed anyways

i am pretty disappointed that both snowboard shops we went to on the weekend kept their gloves behind the cash counter... i have to ask permission before i cop a feel? come on! i don't buy gloves based on what they look like, maybe i'm wierd like that, but i wanna know what they feel like and how they fit and compare one to another. pfft.

Weak.. where was that? I guess in their defense it's a good way to keep people from stealing them.. but so are security tags...

the only thing a security tag will do is tell you that something with a tag is already out the door

Well yeah, but also I don't want mitts with a big hunk of plastic on them.. or a rip. And I don't personally have magnets of that calibre. And by that logic, all putting them behind the counter will do will make it so your friend has to distract someone while you "try a pair on".. or go back and help yourself.

sanction is my favourite place (bathurst and steeles).  They like me there because I spend money, and I drop by about once every two weeks.
