Sleep? I thought you promised otherwise!

And yay carrie to.. sushi!
I want the snow you guys have.

Halloween, Im jibbing again. We found an arena here that the staff actually likes us, and the zamboni guys are now dumping the snow down the little hill SPECIFICALLY for us. With it being on a saturday and all, all my friends are out clubbing and I could care less for that. Today Im helping my dad move more of his stuff, he wants to leave by monday for novascotia and he wont be back till mid april at least.

Also got a new toy, a GPS. So now I can get lost and have someone(thing?) other than myself to blame it on.

Hi! I'm home! I'm far too lazy to go back and read everything that you guys said while I was away.. did I miss anything crazy?

For some reason when we were on the cruise part of our vacation (we took a 4 day cruise to Ensenada Mexico at the end - kinda like TJ but a bit less drugs.. supposedly), we got a Colorado news station on the boat (even though we left from California and went to Mexico, neither of which is CO), and they had CRAZY blizzards.. like schools were closed one day, then the next day they were saying all the flights were probably going to be canceled! Here's hoping we get some of that here soon (especially now that I'm home and can enjoy it and not be screwed over by it).

Just so you know, two weeks is a long time to be away from home.. but it was still fun. But I'm glad to be home!

Buy stuff I made because I'm awesome!

i sent pegg home with a giant hug and bum grab for you carrie, i hope he doesn't enjoy that all by his lonesome.

alex, boys and their toys.

alison, yay! so happy to hear you had a great time! that's what honeymoons are for!

hell, i could use another honeymoon myself. or a new job. have i mentioned lately i really really dislike my job now? apparently one of my coworkers has been going around telling everyone not to switch my night shifts with me... whoever this is thinks i should work my night shifts since i haven't done any in over a year... seriously. what does it matter to you whether i work my nights or switch them off? it's not like i force people at gunpoint to take them... if you want to switch, then great. if not, eh. and oooo as if not switching them is going to make me work them! fuck! it's called calling in sick! i'm pissed. plus the office is screwing me around with my hours and stuff too. all in all not awesome.

if all i had to do was sit around and make toques all day, i could handle that. at least my wool doesn't care if i work nights or not! plus i got an awesome custom order the other night... whatever colours i want, so long as there's a giant middle finger stitched onto the toque.

hell, i should make myself one of those and wear it to work. seriously.

i hate working weekends.

ok, i think i'm done ranting.

in much better news, my friend is out of hospital and doing well, and we're going to have a girl's day on wednesday and watch musicals and do girly things. i can't wait.

wow!  this site is back in action.  missed you guys!!

hell YES to snowboard season coming up... been to 2 training sessions so far at GE which has got me more than a little stoked!!!  got the word on the plans for the park this season.  twister will no longer be the park... it's the one on the far right, looking up.  instead it's moving to where the halfpipe USED to be... it was graded and flattened. lovers lane, the beginner park, will stay put...

this is great news for teaching cuz it means we'll have a green run from the top of the main chair... something we didn't have before!  very excited about that..

also heard that there is a push towards having something added on dropzone (mini park, rollers, not sure what), but that's not confirmed.

ordered my board for the season... stepchild mo rider!  have had some issues with administration so it's been held up, but it will be here sooooon!!

anyways it's late, i'm delerious and i have a crazy week ahead but i had to say hi....  talk soon!!

Funny story Mike: I often ask girls if they'd like a mustache ride, but I usually just get a slap in the face. I guess that's better than a kick in the balls. Now if I ask Constance if she wants a mustache ride, she'll probably just say "nope, I already have one." In this case the slap in the face is optional.

All self loathing aside...

I've been working my ass off the last few weeks with no end it sight. It's a serious pain. To make matters worse, I may or may not have caught the swine flu. The receptionist at work is pretty sure she got it and now I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I'm gonna punch that pig right in the pork though, and I'm not letting it win...

Laura: Good luck on your interview.
Mike: Good luck on your exam(s).

Everyone else: Much love and hand sanitizer.

yeah... tonnes of people here at school are sick...

aslo... just found out my big term paper is due next week.  and i also found out i need a partner for it... what the fuck?  she said to choose wisely for the partner... ummm.. ok?  i don't know anyone in my class. how do i choose wisely?... and if anyone chooses the guy who didn'e even know it was a partner project they aren't choosing wisely.

so i think i have to take a day off work this week and get me some books... i'm going to do the project on the plague i think (has to be a virus or something)... and no.. i'm not doing it on swine flu.  although, maybe i could consider talking to marc as primary research?  hmmmm....

anywho.  have and anthropology mid term tomorrow... no idea how i'll do... have about a 78 in the class at the moment, but really unsure as to how difficult the test will be. i actually find it interesting, so i'm suprised i only have a 78... ah well.  maybe i should go home and study instead of sitting here talking to you chumps....

later chumps!  have a good day!

I LOVE anthropology! Before I dropped out of university I was studying anthropology in the hopes of getting into the forensics program to study forensic anthropology. But they only accepted 25 people per year into the program (out of all of U of T), and my marks weren't even high enough to apply (thanks to chemistry and calculus.. thanks hard sciences..). So I dropped out. But yeah that stuff was sooo interesting! I didn't like archaeology, but I loved all the rest of it!! I've always said if I ever have the time, I'll go back and sit in on lectures (because you can just sit in the back and learn for free.. you just don't get a pretty piece of paper at the end of the day)

question though constance...if you work there in the winter, does that make it easier to get a position in the spring/summer/fall??

why don't you apply as a snowboard instructor and get an offer conditional on your getting the level 1?  if you go to www.casi-acms.com they have all the courses for this season posted.  if you are interested in doing that instead anyway, that's a suggestion.. they do it all the time.. hire people conditionally like that.

i guess it would be easier to get a position in the summer, but you can't expect to make much money doing it.  unfortunately the pay in the summer would be much like the winter (read: not much) so you have to really love it to make it worth your while... just like instructing!

yeah i had thought of that...but i need something more steady...and really not sure what i want to do with my future, since it was ripped out from underneath me by a back-stabbing former co-worker.

this thing at glen eden...honestly, is just until i find something that i really like and pays well...its like a financial bridge. but the seasons pass is definately a bonus, even if it is just GE lol

ah, well honestly i don't think banking on anything steady at hrca is practical.... trust me i considered it myself before my current job but there are very few full-time positions and the people who get them are usually those who have been there for many years in a part-time capacity.

what happened with your old job?  i don't know this story...
