So, Im currently on a little bit of a reggae kick.... does anyone have any good recommendations? Obviously Bob is a clear cut #1 choice, and Legend might be the best album ever....

They are sickk, def check them out. Depending on what albums of Lee Perry you listen to. If u never heard of em, Skindred has the ill reggae/rock vibe. Toots and Maytales are worth listenin to for some old school stuff (mite even hear a sublime song or too) 10CC- Dreadlock Holiday is a pretty rad song.

Don't ever mention the band "Sublime" in connection to reggae music ever again. their half-assed stoner rock is just horrible.

every sublime fan ever:

Sublime's never done much for me - but they're about as much reggae as Bedouin Soundclash...

Can't forget Damian and Stephen Marley - not only do they descend from the royal Marley bloodline, but they both make some pretty killer tunes.

why not? they suck!

they're about as reggae as ras trent, and their music sounds like dave matthews smoked one too many bong hits.

damn, way harsh man. while i do have to admit a vast proportion of their fans are retarded i can say the same for most big name bands who have outgrown the core audience. man, im sorry, you don't havta like them but you gotta give respect where its due. one of the most original sounds of recent times and widely imitated. yeah they were kinda rough sounding but thats sorta the point, they never lived to see much success and their whole appeal was their punky, gungry, house-party-band sound. and still dub, reggae, punk, ska, acid rock, hip hop, some breaks.. such a versitile group.
..to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky and drive fast on
empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not
getting arrested. Res ipsa loquitur -let the good times roll

Sublime definitely does not suck... If u dont like them thats ur business, but I think the majority of ppl would agree they are pretty solid... theres nothing wrong with taking 'one too many bong hits'.... RIP Louie

Yeah man. You dont like sublime.. fine. But saying they suck.. is jus bad form. Atleast have respect...  by saying they suck, you say the bands that they covered suck. Such as toots and the maytals...   Sublime isn exactly "reggae"  but they dont suck.

Barrington Levy (like Hater said) (chck out 'Murderer, and 21 Girl salute)
Big Youth
Burning Spear (especially Creation Rebel)
Bob Marley, but my favorite album is 'Survival'.  Sun is Shining and Babylon System are amazing
Horace Andy
Jimmy Cliff
Junior Murvin
Peter Tosh
Sly and the Revolutionaries
The Upsetters
U-Roy
Toots and the Maytals (Pressure Drop may be the most perfect reggae song ever)

My dandy voice makes the most anti-choice grannies' panies moist!

If you have bell express view you can go to the 900 and theres a galaxy reggae channel in there somewhere and there some pretty good stuff, the song info scrolls by while it plays.

Sublime is not Reggae, I got into a arguement with some half-wit about this not long ago, in the end she might have cried a little, but yah, not Reggae(also not good, they had ONE song, ONE.)
