one of their crew works at my store and he was saying dependent on the weather, they may open sooner, as soon as Dec 1 if the weather co-operates

Jibulation at Eden this year? How the hell did I not hear about that? Is it done, or when is it?

well glen eden seems to be as indecisive as a woman buying shoes... we're back to dec 13 for opening now, and with this warm spell, who's really surprised?

Welcome to southern ontario, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. I wouldn't hold your breath on a resort down here being open until we can safely ride local spots.

eh the less it's open, the less injured people i have to deal with, so it's all good to me.

and i swear they say that weather thing about every single place on earth. you don't like the weather in vancouver? wait five minutes. you don't like the weather in calgary? wait five minutes. you don't like the weather in... etc.

so yeah. anyone who's planning on riding glen eden this year... don't hurt yourselves. please. it would seriously cut into my riding time.

you will have to make sure to come tackle the girl in the bright ass blue jacket if you see me!! i'll be riding there fairly often, either before or after work since i have the 5x7 for there....good enough for a few hours, a few times a week since i'm in town everyday for work

Alas, I have a new goal. I am going to damage myself intentionally just to minimize Kendra's riding time... Yes my diabolical scheme is flawless   MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hey I am new to Oakville and have heard a couple people talk about Glen Eden is it any good or worth buying a 5x7?

http://www.gleneden.on.ca/index.cfm is their website; lots of info there.

the hill is pretty damn small to me, but i'm from out west so everything is small. it's quite busy as we get a lot of school groups through during the week. the 5x7 will run you 229 before taxes, so if you're planning on riding a bunch, it's worth it in the end. it's about a half hour from oakville (straight up tremaine) though so it's convenient, but don't expect to be blown away by the amazing bowls, powder chutes, and glades. we have none of the above. but apparently the terrain park is decent.

Solid thanks for the info I'm not expecting much seeing as it is South East Ontario! Just a local shred

yeah... for local places, its not horrible.  if you like more park than any length of runs, you'll do just fine.  if the blue 5x7 didn't always have an early bird special on their 5x7, i'd be riding eden more i'm sure.

Yeah, Glen Eden is good for people who want to be able to ride often without having to drive for hours to Blue or for me it's better to not have to drive so far to work.  The runs are short and can be icey, but if you are looking to get your fix.. you can!

Opening day is still Dec 13th as of today...  I doubt that will change at this point unless we get some freak snowstorm.

Its the Icecoast, almost anywhere is icy! It's expected so no issues.
Would love to be able to hit some long runs but the lack of mountains in the area kinda limits most fun to the park.

What the fack is with the snow right now? Last year at this time in Ottawa I was schralping fresh pow multiple times a week

I don't know, I've been praying for it and I think someone up there realizes that I'm not religious :(
