Only when sleeping!! Wow ! The older the more exciting. I could go on but I'm sure you all agree.

Old people have too much responsibility to be fun and exciting.  Easy to be 21 and care free when you have no cares.  I just turned 30 and have a job, house, cars, investments and a ton of other things on my plate that do a bang up job of making life less fun.  I'm not even married yet so I imagine how all engrossing that will be when the time comes.

In a nutshell...  Its hard to be light on your feet when the world is on your back.

It depends on your definition of old, and boring. I don't consider myself old, but I have always been kind of boring. Over all, things are waaaaay more exciting now then in my 20's. So that  throws a wrench in the theory.

Since you want 'proof', describe your idea of 'not boring'... seeing as excitement is kind of subjective and everybody is going to have a differant view.

Here is an example. Went for a hike yesterday. I was very excited to look up and see ridable snow in some chutes.. My girl could care less, she was more interested in the garnates captured in the rocks around us. Her highpoint of the day was finding a large pea sized gemin the trail. Mine was a sweet BC parkou 360 stump- water gap- to rock. How do you measure the bore level?

Talking about bills, finaces, and my health problems,, yes, that is the boring reality of being resposible and aging, but not older. no need to focus onit.

Does that even make sense?

I seem to be getting more "boring" as life goes on.  I spent a couple hours last night working on my retirement plan, usually I would get drunk and jerk off to some hardcore porn which was a lot less boring.
Hope:
everything will be okay in the end.
if it is not okay, then it is not the end.

Now we're talkin. I was just noticing how the old folks section seemed slow and wanted to get something started. As far as boring I was mostly referring to how it relates to snowboarding.Seems like when I'm out there I hardly ever meet anybody my age (or older) and if I do they come out five days a year to complain about the altitude or whine about their "real" lives and how if they had any balls they would change things and ride more and blah blah blah... All the young people are takin a year off and having a blast and jumping off something and having a good time in general. Thats why I end up hanging out with them. I never meet any older people willing to ride trees, jump off cliffs, or generally push the limits.....    thats all

Man, I'm 36, gonna be 37 next year. I race dirtbikes in the woods all during the warm season (races are 2 hrs long), and in the winter I snowboard as much as I can. I've never done a cliff drop..no cliffs here. I did do the headwall at Killington when I went though. I'm always getting yelled at on the hill for poaching runs in the trees (my fav place to ride). When I go out to the hill, I'm there to ride, and I ride the slopes and glades all day long. I don't have time for the people who just wanna sit in the lodge drinking, or cry about their lives...I'm too busy living mine

Gravity ur just riding the wrong hill maybe its that coors and posh resorts makin folks tired.  There's lots of old geezers (maybe Ale can confirm this), in fact met quite a few old geezers hiking gnarly bc and its kids doing the lifts,  lodge and hittin only the bc bud.  I'm starting to think about gearing up for quality over quanity and trying bc.

I agree that it is a geographical thing... But more of an illusion created by the sheer numbers of texans and tourists in CO. Not a problem here. The few tourists that do make it this way come to ride, not to be seen at the scene. Plenty of old dudes droppin big shit everywhere though.

I don't know if you can even count your hill anyways wrathful. That place is just pure magic in a class of it's own. Here is a half assed TR from closing weekend this year.. 50 year olds b-day party complete with college kids , live music, and beer pong. Kind of proof i guess?

Possible fresh snow coming later this week.

You ride hard? hell do you live in SF? What do you ride like 20 or 30 days a year? Half your day is probably spent driving hard. You're 30? hell I'm 45 and i ride 140 days per... hard. Give me a break. Come on old people... Crawl out of your cubicle and make some noise.

You want some noise? How about....You ride at a flat, over rated hill and worse yet...it's crowded. 140 days of texans, and gaper tourists...I'd take the 30 at Squaw or Alpine any day.

There's plenty of 'old people' (over 30 is old? Really!?!?!? Only if you're 12.) that get plenty of on-snow time in...some are chasing the demons and ripping as hard as anyone on their mountains...others are enjoying the groomers...and still others are simply loving being on a mountain. Who cares as long as all of them are smiling. No one group is 'better' or even less boring then the other. You'd think at 45 you'd have learned to live and let live. Oh well...there's still time...there always is.

I agree most old people are boring.  I laugh at people that whine about responsibility, mortgages, kids and how they just can't do things like they used to.   Those are the same people when they were 16yrs old that stood around the jump and watched a select few catch big air.  I've got a lot more money to play with now that I'm an old guy (38) and I have a frigging blast.  I don't get hurt as bad because instead of doing stupid shit I think a little more before I drop off something or hit a big jump.  Hell- snow is soft anyway what's the big deal?

You want some proof there are a few non boring old people?   my mom is 64 and broke her wrist this summer riding her 4-wheeler through a creek and my dad (67) just bought a trek road bike and puts in 45 miles a week.  He hadn't owned a bike in over 30 years.
I just bought a Black market 357 dirt jump bicycle.  The younger guys might laugh because I wear so much gear- full face helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, chest protector but I don't give a rats ass-  I don't see nobody else my age out there doing it

Old people are so out of date...Lol. I think some peole think I qualify as old, but I don't buy it. I bought a house and set up a meth lab in the basement. That's got to count as an exciting way to move into the home owner phase of your life:)

I did, however stop smoking crack in favor of injecting heroin, which is a bit of a slower pace and easier on the teeth.

On the real, I don't try to do 720's over gigantic icey big air hits anymore, but I do try misty flips of 20-30 foot cliff drops...and I still enjoy rails, not blow, but jibbing rails, so I guess maybe that makes me a little older, but I still don't think I constitute full on boring...

All this reminds me of Shawn Farmer's big-air, back country blowout in First Descent. Classic. I give him respect for even trying to dial a hit that Travice Rice, Shaun White and Terje were launching off of. Proly been a long time since Farmer did that shit and he proly hasn't done it since...
