Me and a few friends are looking to take our first international shred trip and I have a few questions.
So far we are debating between Japan or switzlerland... The trip would last about a week and a half. Any suggestions for other places we should be looking at? We are freeriders.

La Grave France if you want to sack up and get real serious.  Bring your rope, harness, crampons, and such.

Polyana Russia looks fantastic and gets good reviews.

Japan gets puked on, probably would be my choice.

Switzerland, always a classic

Austria could be a good option too.

If there is a more pointless place to argue than the web...
I don't know about it.

Don't forget Canada....it *is* a foreign country...even though it's on our border.

I've heard Japan is a blast and some of the photo's I've seen of the funky trees, with lot's of snow look awesome.

If you want to get crazy...I think Iran would be incredible...getting there would be tough though.

Beyond that...Europe will have insane riding...and then you can end your day sipping the local village's wine...but you'll also deal with a lot more surface lifts.

Chile in the summer?

well i spoke with some members of the crew and it looks like it's going to be a 7 day trip to whistler in feb. Now that we have it narrowed down... Any advice? We ride hard during the day and party harder at night. Any suggestions for maybe renting a party shack for the week?

A friend of mine rode over in Japan and said it was great...everyone sticks to the groomed trails (speakers on the trees telling to stay on the trails or something weird like that) so there's lot's of good freshies off piste.

Sorry 5.4 no advice for Whislter...I ain't never been thar! But is sounds like a party/riding mecca. If you don't mind crowds.

Hell, there are a lot of Whistler 'tards on this forum.  I would hop over to the Western Canada forums and ask questions about Whistler there.

Because I'm American. Our state department won't give us Visa's to go to Iran. I'd have to go to Canada first and then pray I don't get my passport stamped in Iran.

The articles I've read and the google earthing I've done make it looks like some really pretty mountains though...and I don't imagine there being that many good skiers where the steep and deep powder would be shredded up quickly. So I'd think snow would last a long time inbetween storms.
I've also heard the hospitality is great in Iran...so it sounds like a really fun trip to me. Scary...but fun.

and the mountain dizin is 12,000 feet high and top 40 highest peaks in the world or something... they get dumped on like crazy and a full day lift ticket is only like 10 us dollars!

well there are other places in bc to check out. i dont really enjoy whistler much its busy, i think its a bit over rated. you might wanna check out big white in kelowna. you can get a place right on the mountain. or maybe sinshine. its just that there is so many better mountains in bc. i would check things up a bit more bofore you head out.
well waht ever you do im sure youll have a blast

Why does this remind of the episode of office space where they take the 'international' business trip to Winnepeg?

Make sure to get your passports stamped.

Just kiddin. I love Canada... and Vancouver is like europe, kinda. It's easy to get heroine and transgender hookers.

first, sunshine village is in alberta, not bc. but i lived in whistler for a while and while it has it's good parts, overall it's really crowded, and unless you can hook up with a local you'll spend the majority of your time looking for the goods rather than riding them,it's just too friggin huge. sunshine on the other hand has gnarlier terrain, imo, and waaay less people. probably cheaper too. if you end up at sunshine bring your beacon. you can't acces the goods without one, resort policy
