ive been looking at accomodation at frisco/dillon lately and it seems the average is $100-$120 per night
that works out alot if i was over for 2 weeks
i was thinking of coming over either early january or early march
anyone got any other links i could try

You can try the Fireside Inn located in Breckenridge.  It serves as a hostel. It'll be the least expensive of the pay places.  If you have a car, you could camp out at the Peter Rabbit hut on Berthoud Pass.  It's free, first come, first serve.  Otherwise, a couch is your next best bet.
If there is a more pointless place to argue than the web...
I don't know about it.

Wholly smokes that's a lot of $$$.  If you book early and you know your exact dates, go on priceline.com (name your own price) and try $75 for a two-star hotel.  They'll let you know if they don't take that price to increase it but i bet it won't be $100....
 
Hostels and the Hut is still a LOT cheaper.
