Hey, I'm looking to buy a new snowboard for this winter. I just started three seasons ago   and I went  once or twice a week.  I'm like intermediate, I'm looking to buy a new snowboard for this winter. I did a little reading up and was thinking of getting a Burton Custom or Un...INC , k2 Jibpan, or anything for all mountain that will fit my needs.
Oh also, I'm 5'10", 140 pounds. So I'm thinking i should get a board around 156, 157.  I have Burton Binding so it will fit Burton new  System.  I am also riding in Quebec so with the Quebec conditions.  I am planning on trying some pipes and rails next winter.

Do you have any suggestion?

UnInc or K2Jibpan.

I have both the Custom and the UnInc.. the Custom is a sick all mountain board.. i'll take it lightly on rails and off jumps and it works fine.

If you're really going to be dedicated to spend lots of time in the park this year i'd go with the Un Inc, but if it's just going to be a few park runs every day I think you'd be better off with the Custom for the all-mountain aspect.

When I went shopping they told me around 156 or 157, so don't know , but if it's shorter I can do more tricks on the rail, and if it's a bit longer maybe I can keep it next year , but it will be a bit faster.  I am still shopping, but was looking at the new banana technology with NGU , then change for Burton and now K2, every store sale person suggest different sizes or kinds of board

Welcome to shopping for a snowboard every shop guy has one board they think is the best.  Personally for Quebexico I'd go with a 154ish or smaller since its nothing super gnar kill.

Jibpan is a super sick board, I'd also look at the darkstar as well.

I was looking at my old board witch was my first one, it was a Solomon Ace 152, so your right about the size, 154 will be the best.  I do not want to change my boot  or binding for now, but will change them eventually. But still looking for K2, but I am planning on doing a bit more park this year so do you thing the Jibpan will be better than the Darkstar.  Do you have any other suggestions if I do not find K2 around Montreal.  I went shopping at Axis they had K2 but no Jibpan, they offer me a stepchild chamberlainbut I never heard about this board.  So I am still looking and want to buy before they end of august.

The simon is a sick board for park riding.  I are you going to be jibbing more or jumping?  If you're jumping or half pipe go with the jibpan it has a bit more pop in it and slightly stiffer in the nose/tail than the darkstar.

the stepchild chamberlain board is fantastic. the flex is proportioned perfectly throughout the lenght of the board to have pop on the jumps without sacraficing any smoothness in ur presses. i recommend it. i miss my chambo deck.

look on the k2 website for k2 dealers in around MTL. i checked not too long ago, there seems to be many around.

Thank to everybody My decision is made, if I can find it, Jibpan K2 153.  I have looked in Montreal, they do not have it yet, so I am still shopping.  Maybe I will have to go to Vermont.

Where does it say tax/duty free?

Just want to see it in writing, so that I can order from there next time.

They can't send it to Canada.  I have tried it.

Due to contracts with the following brands, we are unable to ship any of their products outside the US. If you attempt to order one of these brands and have it shipped outside the US, we will contact you and cancel the order. However, it is OK to purchase any of these products with an international credit card and have the product shipped to a US address.

  • Arbor
  • Arc'teryx
  • Burton (including RED, Analog, Gravis, Idiom and Anon)
  • B by Burton
  • Canada Goose
  • Cascade Designs (including MSR, ThermaRest, Platypus, SealLine, and Tracks)
  • Fox Racing
  • Fritschi
  • K2
The list it's longer, so finally it means they don't ship to Canada

When you order, the cheapest shipping option has no tax/duty.

There is no shipping fee over 50$, but still it also says they don't do it outside US for K2 brand and many other one

be patient. theres no use for new board until november at least(december even since ur in the east coast). if ur looking to pre-season shred, use last year's stick as it sucks to fuck up ur board before having a decent day on the mountain with it.

i'm looking into the k2 jibpan 53 also. if i dont find one by october, i,ll just ocntact a shop and have them order it for me.

worst case scenario for urself, drive to the states to pick it up.

Si I was patient, but still looking for that Jibpan around Montreal.  Until now nobody wants to order it and around upstate New York didn't find it yet, but still looking anyway there is no snow yet.  Kellington got  some snow last week , but now they are close.  I am looking for binding , I was thinking of the 390 to go with my futur Jibpan.

I second the K2 darkstar.  With your weight and the medium flex of that board the 157 would be perfect for you.  If you want something a little stiffer the Jibpan is very similar.  But both great boards.

If you like the 390 check out the Union Force
