Okay, so this weekend is the final weekend of the season for me. Actually it was last weekend when I broke my ankel and tore three ligaments, but who's counting.

The question is what do you guys do to not go insane in the off-season? I love summer but as time rolls on I get edgy. I need my riding fix. If I wasn't injured I usually spend a lot of time on the trampoline in the summer, golfing and ultimate frisbee, and skimboarding are also pretty fun ways I normally channel my pent up snowboarding passion.

What about you?

My summer fix has been wake skating. You can pretty much do it anywhere with a small invested of a winch. Dude it's challanging at first but once you pick it up you can use some of the same tricks you would use in snow boarding. The sweet thing is you can't really get hurt. Unless you get hit with the actual board or skin your girly delicate skin on the grip tape. Bleeds like a bitch but well worth the scar. I hit the lake last year in early may with a wet suit and ended the season in orlando tow park in  late September.  AWESOME TRY IT OR DIE!

wake skating has the potential to still kill your body. A buddy landed with 1 foot on the skate, 1 in the water and dislocated his hip. But winching is where its at for an arvo session i think i put $10 gas in my winch all season.

I survive by surfing...I surf more times  per summer than I ever skied/snowboarded in my life time., which kind of sucks b/c I love both sports.

i work shit jobs from may/june-oct, save a significant amount of my earnings and then blow it all on season pass, stash money for couple months rent in a mountain town so i dont have to work at the resort...then i ride/party all winter till i run out of money then do it all over again the following year...

Dirty, but invigorating.

I like to mix it up all year round.  A sport for every season.  I play indoor soccer during the snowboard season and outdoor for the summer.  Mountain biking is from spring to fall.  Golf, likewise.  I know I'm not terribly exciting but it gets me through the year.
Don't Panic!

another vote for surfing, but what sucks in a lot of parts of CA is summer fog and marine layer clouds.  Combined with our cold water, it's like surfing in east coast winter...and it's still gets crowded!

I got my last bit of riding in last Friday and I'm in a bit of a funk now... it was such a good season and I don't want it to be over!!!!!!!  BUT it is.. so.

Things I do to survive summer....
Soccer is my summer love... I play year-round, but it picks up to 3-4 times a week during the summer and outdoor is so much better
Mountain biking, mostly single track and a mixture of xc/dh
Wakeboarding any chance I get, which isn't often
Killer tubing
Patios and pints
mmm BBQ's
Bonfires
Camping
Cottaging

Been doing some yoga lately because I've been bored...  I'll pretty much try anything.  I need to keep busy and active!

Ride now, work later!
All work and no play is totally missing the point.

During the summer, i always go for a couple weeks up to whistler. I go to the whistler summer snowboard camp, and i LOVE it. You could just go to whistler, but the public park is pretty crappy. I'm going this summer anyways. You should definitely come. At this camp, they groom their private park and pipe everyday, and it's not all slush and rocks.

haha exactly! This is what I've done for the last three years.. but I decided now that I won't do anymore seasons (as much as it kills me to say it) I feel like it's time to settle and start making money.. I'm sick of being poor! Having said that I'd rather be poor and be riding all season than not.. ahh bugger now I'm confused about what to do.. :-/

Oh and how I survive summer..? Well when I'm not working my ass off, I'm at music festivals, bbqs, hanging out with friends, and I'm currently learning how to skateboard, but seriously it's nothing like snowboarding, damn it's hard!

Gettin it on on the beach on a warm night

Gettin it on on the dock on a warm night
Hot girls in bikinis
Good summer drinks, like huckleberry long islands
Gettin it on on the boat on a warm night

Play golf as much as possible.  The ol lady doesn't like it much, but I just tell her the tournament proceeds go towards some sort of benefit fund so she's okay with it
