well, i don't always answer these things for fear of getting beaten... because though i love snowboarding, i'm pretty balanced and find many ways to enjoy summers.  i love cottages... hammocks... golf... bikinis... swimming... bbq's... tennis... car shows... patios... and so on.

i've got my pacer all shined up, so i'm getting ready...

as much as i hate not being able to snowboard in the summer, there's still tons of fun in the summer.  disc golf, grilling out in the sun, camping, music fesitvals, and cabrewing.  oh how i miss cabrewing.

summer means:
time to get tat work done.
margarita mondays go into effect.
tennis season.
traveling and road trips become necessary.
then there's that whole work 50+ hours a week thing that keeps me busy....

Funny I prefer to get my tattoo work done in the winter so that I don't have to worry about going for touch ups because I was a dumbass and forgot to sunblock the shit out of my arms.

I watch snowboard videos to stay stoked for the next season. I got into longboarding last summer. (Thanks Shay for letting me use your longboard.) I make my wish list of product that I will aquire and plan out where I will be riding and possible trips for  the  next winter. I got a clean bill of health from my orthopedist that my reattached hamstring is full healed. So I played in my college alumni rugby game Umass Alumni 27- Umass Undergrads 5. Stoked on my preformance, I am hoping to train and rejoin my old club team, for the summer.....but I dont want to get hurt for the winter season. Truth is I am up at 3 am and dont return to my crib till 9pm 5 days a week. A 12 hour part time job on Saturdays for snowboard product. (Work 90-120 hours a week)I have to keep doing that till the snow comes and skating if I am not sleeping. Life is what you make it, they say.

kayaking & sharkfishing
im trying surfing so well see how that goes.   figure its as close to boarding as i can get around here.
camping at the beach
bodyboarding

seems anything good round here involves the oceanfront to an extent.
im going skydiving next month, realllllllllly looking forward to that.

The snowboarding offseason is pretty long in my area of the states.  So to fill that adventure void I do a lot of backpacking/camping/hiking.   I also play NABA Baseball from Spring til Fall.  Not to mention 2 softball teams as well.  I tend to party more in the summer since I live in Virginia Beach.

i play lots of soccer, 2-3 times a week(but i play 12 months a year as well). I really enjoy biking in the summer time, either trail riding, or just taking off for hours at a time and exploring the area. i just moved so i'll be enjoying the river in my backyard and doing lots of tubing and kayaking once we get our kayak.

oh and i'll be playing with my new puppy!

Drag Racing in NH, making 600cc go-karts( yeah thats right, i got a Katana motor in my go-kart, what you got?), lot of motor swaps in cars, working, checking out the beach front property, working outside as much as possible, driving around ME and NH moutains,  at the race track with the team on race days.  gotta make money in the summer to save it for winter. Dam Heating Oil doubled from last year.

I don't actually survive summer.
I die each year when April 23rd hits. Fortunately I come back to life every November 6th.
It's true. IT'S a miracle. Sometimes on Ice.

This is how I normally spend my summer:

Traveling
Tubing
Kayaking
Hiking/Trekking
Swimming
Camping (hopefully away from all the people)
Gym (I thought I'd never say this but I enjoy it)
Tennis
Wakeboarding (haven't gone once this summer - been too busy)
ATV trips
Biking
Snorkling
Partying (Going to clubs, concerts, shows, movies, museums, bbq)
Sleeping in my hammock
Bonfires
White water rafting

I also usually study, network, and then work - biggest time killer of all.

I drink.... a lot.

I also have taken up mountain biking... started xcing cause i thought it'd be safer.... but then realized i didn't like having to put effort into peddaling up a hill. I've been getting into downhilling more and more, mostly because of the crazy friends i have here... but I heart it.. already thinking of upgrading my bike next year!!!

I also travel, hike, drink on patios, swim, drink in bars, canoe, drink in pubs, go camping, and drink around fire pits.

The only constant in my life is change.
Friends are the family we choose.

Yeah uh... Beer is def essential. Throw around possible ideas for trips for the upcoming season. Drinking and potentially other things.

Ok- LONG BOARDING, frisbee, fishing, surf, wakeboarding... the beach in general. Bonfires are clutch. 4th of July is huge.  Bars, Pubs.. Anything that will take my mind off of riding when i start to get that itch.
Its not so much the off season... its the in between. As in To cool for the beach and many outside things... But to warm for snow and riding. Naaa mean.

working, drinking, smoking, longboarding, music, wakeboarding, hiking, mountain biking, driving.

yeah, that pretty much tags it.
Dirty, but invigorating.

I just try not to think about boarding. When I do, I just watch a YouTube video or something.

Okay, so this weekend is the final weekend of the season for me. Actually it was last weekend when I broke my ankel and tore three ligaments, but who's counting.

The question is what do you guys do to not go insane in the off-season? I love summer but as time rolls on I get edgy. I need my riding fix. If I wasn't injured I usually spend a lot of time on the trampoline in the summer, golfing and ultimate frisbee, and skimboarding are also pretty fun ways I normally channel my pent up snowboarding passion.

What about you?

My summer fix has been wake skating. You can pretty much do it anywhere with a small invested of a winch. Dude it's challanging at first but once you pick it up you can use some of the same tricks you would use in snow boarding. The sweet thing is you can't really get hurt. Unless you get hit with the actual board or skin your girly delicate skin on the grip tape. Bleeds like a bitch but well worth the scar. I hit the lake last year in early may with a wet suit and ended the season in orlando tow park in  late September.  AWESOME TRY IT OR DIE!
