It's a couple of years since I've been on here (due to changing jobs, I now have to work for a living rather than getting the day's work over in an hour and spending the rest of the time on-line) and I have to say it's quite strange not to see all the old regulars. Don't look at my post count, it was in the thousands on the old site. What has happened? Apppart from the fact that the colonies idea hasn't worked as well as it might have...

I can remember most anything but yesterday. I am plagued with a brain full of useless info and trivia.

Speaking of which, I am going to have to learn to use more. My money makers have failed me. 15 years of depending on my hands to be able to make me good enough money that I could get away with taking off a few months a year is over. I can't eally describe how shitty I feel, but  almost like my manhood has been taken from me. I have hyper advanced CTS. Basically, my hands like to take fequent naps. When they do wake up, I migth as well be emo and cut myslef because that is exactly what it feels like. Somebody is jamming knives into my palms. Work has become the equivalent of sticking your finger in an electrical socket all day.

I am now in the even more painful process of seeing the doctors and wrestling with workmens comp. When that is over, I don't know. Brings to mind one of my favortie movie quotes. "It's time to get busy living, or get busy dieing"

WHAT?  Oh man Scott that just sucks.  What the fuck caused that?  Could it be work related?  Maybe after 10 years of litigation and standing in soup kitchen lines you'll get a multi million dollar settlement...

I fucking hate it when life throws those nice little surprises at you.  Having had thrown at me I know it all too well.

Let me know if that changes the hut trip plans.  I can fully understand if you can't make it.  Hopefully you still get to ride.  I was kind of looking at MLK weekend for a possible Seattle visit...

Scott sorry to hear that my friend!  I know the feeling of having your manhood ripped from you, no it wasn't a pissed off girl(wel it might be if I fuck up with this girl I have now!).  Being down because of my back these days not being able to work and having troubles even studying or paying attention in class sucks.  At least my physical therapist is optimistic that I will make a come back, but nothing is certain.  If my back doesn't get better I am getting a motorized wheel chair and giving up!
Hope:
everything will be okay in the end.

Unfortuanly, not being able to hold my beer was one of the first signs. Good news is I can work with the docs to get a sort of prostetic'mug hand'. Much more functional then a hook.

Thanks everybody for the positive vibes. i am not going to let it get me down(too much). And I sure as hell aren't going to to give up good times and riding. I'll for sure keep my palns to come out and visit KillClimbz and whoever else is arounnd in February. I might just be riding with some robocop arm braces this year.

Too-scoops.

Karma(god) most usually treats me pretty well. I positvely believe this is going to work out for the best. I have always been optimistic cup half full kind of guy. Now I can get a new cup, and fill it with whatever. I have been meditating(praying) alot on this trying to find my way... I think it's been kind of obvious all along. I was tapped on the shoulder long ago, and repeatedly since then, and now I am getting a kick in the ass. My angel is very persistant.

Sweet!  Glad to hear you'll be out.  We'll find a (un)necessary use for those robo cop arms.

Scott positive vibes.  I gota find my old beer hat for ya so u can just suck and ride.   On another note, at some point, u might think about trying to get L&I and DVR to pay for some schooling and since the economy is sucking perhaps a good time to retool.

Anyway let me when you're goin up the hill.

Thanks Tim.

Excellent idea as well. I'll check into that. Would be nice to get some financial aid with something I was going to do anyways.

I just typed out that I didn't think I would be up that way until late december, but I know that would be a stretch. I'll probably be on Baker proper after the next significant snowfall. I have my fingers crossed for next tuesday.

Al, best of luck, might try some of the alternative healing, acupuncture and massage stuff.  I have a friend who was really sick for a while and it really helped her out.  I don't recommend drinking powdered tiger's junk due to the nasty factor, but you never know!

Thanks you!

I am not against alternative medicine, but I don't know about L&I. After the professionals have there way, and all the legal stuff is done, I will surley be doing things to help me naturally. One of the reasons I am having problems is becasue I refuse to take pain meds.

apparently a good thing to do, is to wear wrist splints when you sleep.  stops you flexing the problem bits as you snooze.

best of luck to ya you old bugger!  i can agree with you on the disinclination to take the pain killers.  tis nice to keep them as a very last option.... not least of all coz of the contrast afforded by pain relief.
