hey guys, this is my first time buying a complete set up. I been riding for about 9 years on rentals all my life, with the fact that my mother still believes that i would continue growing (i stopped when i was 14) im 19 now. Finally I have the money and i want to spend it well!

I got my board and my bindings (08 customs and 07 japanese idioms) im an all-mountian rider, more like 70% groomers and 30% at terrain park. I am not a die hardcore rider, but i do like to session hard in riding or jibbing.

Now it gets tricky...

SALOMON F24 VS 32 PRIME            (I tried both boots at my local store and both felt good)

Please provide some data, instead of "this boot sucks. Period" They are relatively the same price from where I am purchasing them. Any info would help a lot, because I am new at buy gear.

Well, if your foot fits comfortably in both of them right now, remember that the boots will pack out and become bigger. The 32's will pack out alot more than the Salomons. Really, between the two for me its no contest. The F24's are way better. They will last longer, they will pack out less, and they will not break down as fast. The 32's are notorious for breaking in really fast and becoming mush.

Other then that, the 32's fit a wide foot, and the Salomon's fit a narrow foot. If you fit in the Salomons, the 32's are most likely not right for you.

If they both felt good my guess is you aren't in the right size because those are 2 entirely different fitting boots.

So they both felt good, but did they both hold your heel down and keep your foot from sliding around? 32's are super comfy for me, they feel like skate shoes, but Salomon boots are the only ones that really lock down my heel and ankle and hold my foot in place. I've never ridden with 32 boots, but I can say that the Salomon F-series is awesome and if both boots fit me I would choose the Salomon simply b/c I know that Salomon boots hold up, and I've heard bad things about how long 32's last.

I rode the primes this year and they are the best flexing boot I’ve ever put on the articulated cuff and molded tongue are really nice.  I like laces and 32's design is great, the lacing raps underneath the boot which allows you to hold that part foot really well.  The middle lace loop is connected to the tongue so as you pull it tight, the loops pull the tongue onto ankle.  It is a very large boot but not too long; it comes high up ankle which gives a lot of support.  It’s VERY wide, make sure they fit in your bindings and the cap strap fits on toe.  Over all very comfortable, they did not pack out or go soft in 50 days of use.  They are going back on warranty because the sole pulled off the boot, caused by using bindings that were too narrow.

I have a pair of F24s that are arriving Monday, and will be broken in and tested by next weekend.  I'll let you know how I like them if you haven't made a decision by then.

That said, if those are your only two choices, I'd avoid 32.  Heard and seen too many horror stories from this past season's lineup.

I have to agree with El, if your foot fit well in a ThirtyTwo, your toes would be going blue in the Salomons since they are far narrower. I love my thirtytwos as I have wide feet and they are simply the best fit. Mine have fallen apart now, but the breakdown didn't happen until between 150-180 days of riding in the boots (so a season and a bit for me). When I buy another pair of boots, it will be ThirtyTwo again unless I find something else that fits my honkin' feet because you need something that fits your foot comfortably, but snugly all around.

Ahh yes 32 boots.  Nothing says quality like going through two pairs of Tm Two's in less than a season. Though, I will admit I'm in them everyday for 10+ hours during the season... But hey, whatever floats your boat. I loved my F-20's and DB's.
