Everyone tells you that turning 18 is great and has so much more freedom. Which in ways is true, you have alot more freedom to fuck up hard. Kids (my friends) claim that they are now adults and can do what they want, this is not true, your still sucking that same tit youve been sucking for the past 17 years. Unless of course you move out on your own. Even then that sucks, youve got bills and much more responsibilities. I mean yeah maybe in the past 18 was a huge step but that was because your parents usually gave you the boot. Forcing you to find a job and a house quick, usually education took a back seat. But now a days people push education. The problem is education is as expensive as it is popular. Now everyone that pays for their own shit realizes that "hey, yeah im an adult but that tit sure was nice". I have the ultimate respect for those living completely independent from their parents or other sources of workless income.  The kids who go off to college with a meal ticket and a new car can suck it.

Basically Im whining because all of this just set in after a long vacation in costa rica. That and I was quitting cigs and now that I can purchase them when ever I want just kinda threw a wrench in my gears. So Im gonna go suck down my stick of defeat and ponder how to make the funds to survive. Im thinking selling drugs, drug dealers have nice cars so they must have money.

I moved out 3 days after I turned 18, on my own accord. Somehow I've managed to live, pay for school, etc on a grand total of $9/hour. $10 shouldn't be too bad.

Also, when you turn 19 in Ontario, you reach the legal drinking age, THEREFORE. Booze and titties.

I mean, at 18 (in the US) you can buy cigarettes and porn.  The US is just encouraging 18 year olds to engage in a little afterglow after having sex with themselves.  I guess it's cool.  19 and 20 are just meaningless to me.  I guess I can now go to Canada and drink anywhere and not be limited to Quebec, but until I head to Whistler, I'm not going outside of Quebec anyway.  I wish they pulled what they did back when my mom/dad turned 18/19/20/21.  The drinking age was 18 and when my mom turned 18, they changed the age to 21, but she got grandfathered in.  When my dad turned 18, they changed it back to 18.  What happened to those days?

18 here in Australian allows us to legally drink. So it's a pretty big deal. Also means that you're classed as an adult and can be prosecuted as such :(

Student loans or no?

Im not moving out now anyways. Need to get my knee fixed and will be off work for a good deal of time, so I can't scrounge up the money I need. Ill be in BC by april 09.

On a more serious note 18 was a big deal for me. I was the youngest in my graduating class and when I FINALLY turned 18, it was cool, because I could finally buy my own ciggs. 

Welcome to the real world.  Life is only what you make of it.

10 bucks an hour is easy to live on and I mean really fucking easy I did it for years.

Move to summit county and work at Wendy's they pay 11 an hour, target pays between 12 and 15, I think everyone pays about 10 plus an hour up here.
