My thinking is that I think that it's just as closed minded for someone to hate all Americans because of Bush, or a few stupid fucking tourists than for someone in America to be spouting some bullshit about us being the greatest country in the history of ever. Also, there is a HUGE line between being supportive of troops doing their job, trying to better their lives and their families lives than it is to support the war. Or to even say that they're "fighting for their country". I served in Iraq. The best way I saw to pay for college. I joined BEFORE the Iraq war. And I'll quickly tell you to fuck off if you thank me for "fighting for our freedoms" or some bullshit like that. Thank me for my service, but don't you dare tell me what I did, or why I did it.

if people thank me for fighting for their freedoms I wouldn't tell them to fuck off.  I did what I did and they don't know, but they do know that if I ever had to I would be fighting for their freedoms and so when they see a soldier fight they just assume it was for their freedom.  I fought and will fight for Americans and all peoples ability to be ignorant.  I do not hate retarded groups like Code Pink, I envy them that they will never have to know the truth and can live in blissful ignorance of the world we live in.

Iraq has nothing, at all, what so ever, to do with 9.11.
The taliban has nothing, at all, what so ever, to do with Iraq.
The taliban might loosely be tied in with 9.11.
Al Qaeda is arguably a made up entity.
Yet, in this "war on terror", we have invaded Iraq, an unassociated country, made it far more unstable and now it can serve as a breeding ground for terrorists. Yet individuals such as Osama bin Laden, someone who we really should be after, are still living. Or at least it can be assumed so.
FURTHERMORE, we have how many innocent people locked up in guantanamo undergoing all kinds of horrors at the hands of the CIA, all because they are afghani farmers or something who somebody sold to the US.

Do you just ignore that stuff because it doesn't make you feel good, or... ?

wow good for you know people who died!  You aren't special for that.  You would be special if you actually decided to become informed on the situation instead of watching a few news snippets and jumping to conclusions.  k_nisbett was right in correcting you.  American and Canadian soldier work with and fight with Taliban soldiers on a daily basis to go after Al-Qaeda which is a terrorist group with no state of their own.  Iraq is a whole other can of worms and had nothing officially do to with 9/11.  try reading.   Sure there are Al-Qeada in Iraq, but that doesn't make Iraq responsible for them.  There are cells of Al-Qeada all over the world to include Canada and the US, that doesn't make those countries responsible for their actions.

Like I said before if you want something to be light hearted form the start open up with a joke, don't rely on the rest of us to make your funny bone tickle.
