I’m 6’0 190lbs and wear Salomon f20 12.5 boots. And 390
bindings on both
At the beginning of the year I was riding a 08 machine 157. First
day I got to snowboard was at a back country only mountain, I didn’t expect to
much out of it since is made for jibs. I was surprised how well it did in
powder. Had to lean back a lot to keep the nose up but did better than I expected.
Once I got to take it to the park I was pretty happy with it. You can jump this
board but it doesn’t have much pop. The reason I don’t care for this board is because
it is stiff between the bindings. Rome
says it’s easier to control on rails. I think that makes it harder to balance. It
is still an awesome board. I let my friend ride it now; he’s set on buying a Rome board now. Only problem
I had with this board is the sidewall came apart from the edge, it was a manufacture
defect, could have happened to either board. Rome had a new board sent to me in a week no
big deal.
Now I ride the Rome
slash 158. It’s a world of difference. I wish I would have bought this board to
begin with. The flex is the same through the whole board so it makes it easier
to ollie, and is very stable at jumps. This tears up every run on the mountain,
and the “almost twin” shape helps it in powder. The back of the board sits a
tad lower then the front. And it has no problems with rails or boxes. I think
this board is best at jumps. This board has a ton of pop so getting big air is
easy.
If you’re into jibs only go for the machine and save money
for something else. If you like doing a little of everything in and out of the
park get the slash.
