Ok, i just want to say what everyone is thinking. When are the park builders of ontario going to pull their heads out of their asses and start building step up Jumps,. If you go to any decent parks in the ice climate that is our home like Mont Saint-Sauveur they're making nearly all their jumps step ups. the big air jump in the x games was a step up. Most jumps David benadick does double corked 1260's off of are step ups (like the one he designed in 91 words for snow). Chads gap,. the list goes on.. Step up jumps allow riders to go fuckin huge and it cuts down on the consequence factor large because your slowing down by the time you reach the landing and your not dropping from 15 - 25 feet in the air.

All im saying is that parks make or break riders. And it's really fuckin lame when you go to a park that should have people that know what they're doing running the thing and the trajectory of the jump doesn't match up with the steepness of the transition.

It's obvious that Ontario resorts could have better Parks with better thought out features so what's the fuckin hold up?

Small time park's are normally just made by the groomer's, so they don't care or know better.  Hell some are even run by ski school's.  It's weak but mtn's need to shell out some cash for real builder's with the snowcat skills.  You want to do something about it try talking to someone in their park's dept, if they have one.

hell.. not even sure if we have enough snow around these parts to build multiple big hits or step ups...   plus, we don't have enough space to get speed up enough to hit a decent step up.

but thats just the hills i ride.  something like blue, glen eden, mslm... their parks are on pretty small patches with not much verticle, so it takes some interesting set ups to provide big hits... as dude mentioned, mslm's you have to bomb to pipe.. not the best logistics.

understand where you're coming from, but hey... lots of riders get their beginnings here, then move to the mountains.  go chase those step ups down!
haikus are easy
but sometimes they don't make sense

at my local hill we had a guy who was hired to just take care of the park. he went to classes and such. well he left because the people at the garage wouldn't let him use a snowcat or even listen to him. also the maintenence  wrecked some of our features by being careless, or because they didn't like the look of it. We had built a nice wooden feature for a competition, and the next day when it came time to go get it to put it in place it was in a pile cut up in 1 foot peices. they are the same people that when we said to leave powder trails after the biggest storm of the season the said fuck that those that want to ride powder go somewhere else.
U ARE SOFA KING WE TODD IT
