Which is or are your favourite snowboard movies and why?

I recently purchased Catch the Vapors and Optimistic. Both are unbelievable. Vapors has some of the most amazing big mountain riding ever, jeremy jones once again showing how great he is.  Gigi Ruf in Optimistic is also unfriggin real.
I myself prefer big mountain, but dont mind watching park rats jump around everynow and again.
So let me know what you watch.

Optimistic is a really good film.

But really the best ones are the Robotfood series.  Afterbang, Lame and Afterlame...seriously the best most fun snowboard films to watch.

POP and anything else by Absinthe films.
Great sound track, nice mix of urban and back country riding and some insane gaps.

If you like Catch The Vapors, you need to get some of Standard's older flicks......

My favorites:

1) White Balance
2) Paradox
3) Futureproof

I also have Empire, Draw The Line, Catch The Vapors, First Descent, Unleashed, Warren Miller's Journey (some skiing as well), and I am gettign a few others soon.  So, I guessI have a limited view :(  I want the TB series boxed set!  And the old Whiskey movies.  Definately plan to buy the Craig Kelly movie this season as well.

^^ Yeah I love White Balance...the whole motif of the movie was great.

I cant believe no one has put the MDP move Follow Me Around. That is probably my all time favorite. Eero Ettala throwing a double inverted rodeo 10 was siiick

My fav right now is Child support... I think it's awesome.

As far as oldschool videos, one of the first vids I ever saw, and still I remember it pretty well to this day was MDP's the Resistance.

From ___ with love and follow me around were both excellent, and picture this is very pretty lol... nice filmwork and such, but not the best showcase of snowboarding IMO... not to say it's a bad vid... but I think the previous years were better in that sense.

As far as snowboard movies lol... First Decent, and Out cold take the cake hahahahah

I always thought that TB4 really stood out for it's time. These days most people might look at it as nothing special but when that was released my friends and I were going nuts over it.  Rippey's part was great.  What ever happened to that dude?  I haven't heard anything about him for a while, but I really been keeping up on him.

He was hosting some extreme sports show last I saw a few years back.....doing base jumping, snowmobile backflips, and other stunts.  Not sure what he is up to now.  Definately my of my top 5 favorite riders ever.

Out Cold?!? are you serious? That moive sucked. The story was lame, the comedy was cheezy and the snowboarding in it sucked.
You might as well say you liked that Extreme Ops movie where the snowboarder floated from the top of a lodge to 60 ft below where she then grinded a table.

Or how about Jonny Tsunami moive from the Disney Channel.

In my opinion, they have yet to make a good extreme sports movie. First Decent was good, but it was more of a documentry then a fictious movie

haha, love rippey's ballerina spins. How about Johan in TB5? That was a pretty progressive movie, first to really bring freestyle to big mountains... for newer ones pop always gets me going.

I feel that MDP probably makes my favorite vids... The Resistance was sick... JP walker does some awesome shit in this flick... I also like Chulksmack and that isn't as good but I could watch it all day.

Hands down, Thanks Brain. The riding in this movie is sick and very creative I loves it.

I liked Out Cold, now that was a killer snowboard movie that really focused on the riding and life of real snowboarders and the everyday issues they face.
Hope:
everything will be okay in the end.

I wouldn't put it at the top of my all-time list, but I definitely dig the creativity in the riding in Thanks Brain. Milbery darksliding on a snowboard is crazy shit.

It's hard to pick one fav though.

I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her

I'm guessing you've never seen "Ski School"? I loved Out Cold just for the fact that it was a complete throwback to the late 80's and early 90's ski movies such as "Ski School" "Ski Patrol" and "Aspen Extreme". I still bust those out once in a while for a good laugh.

You won't get or love Out Cold unless you have an appreciation for movies like those. But, hey I have a soft spot for bad 80's movies.

Out cold is the shit, pretty much my favorite movie of all time. As far as snowboarding films go... for me its a three way tie between:

Decade
Destroyer
Lame
You know youre getting old when your ol lady says "honey lets run
up stairs and make love" and you say "sorry i cant do both!"

Marco étoile filante

An interesting movie about one of the most intense snowboarders ever to live....and die.
No kickers, half pipes, or spinin n' winnin...just mountains...very, very BIG mountains.
