Here's something I created to try and help everyone in using the current forum software.

HOW TO INSERT A LINK WITH CLICKABLE TEXT

Step 1:  Click the little sideways "8" thing like in the picture below.

Next you get a pop up window

For reference, I did in this thread
If hell freezes over.... whoever wants to ride there may...
I choose to ride in heaven where it'll always be a powder day

HOW TO EMBED A VIDEO:

Step 1: in reply box click the HTML tag

Step 2:  Open a separate window/tab (sorry pic quality below is poor) and go to video you want to insert.

In the embed tab, select the text, then on your keyboard with the text selected, hit Control C

Next, you have that embed selected. Go back to snowboard.com forum where the reply box is open and hit CTRL-V (for paste)

Final step:  It will look much like below.  Hit Save and there's your video

HOW TO INSERT PICTURES (this is very easy)

Step 1:  Go to website, page, whatever where there is a picture you would like to insert.

Step 2:  Select the picture just like you would text

Press Control C to copy the picture.  Now go back to the forum in your post box and type CTRL V to paste the picture in

Just like this

If anyone has suggestions, would like to make a cleaner/nicer version than what I have, or learn how to do something else, you are more than welcome to post or discuss in this thread.

You are very welcome! It took me awhile to figure out until just recently, so I knew others were probably having the same exact issues I was.  Can you think of anything else? I have a couple ideas, but still toying with them in my head

I sent iamtheman78 a PM letting him know I will make a little screen shot "how to" like the other above options .... when I have more time.   As always, if anyone else would like to make a how to on doing the quotes or anything else, you are more than welcome to

EDIT: When I update this, I have decided I will do a little lesson on UBB coding for anyone not familiar with it.

THIS POSTING is how to use "UBB" which is universal across the web in many many forums

URL Hyperlinking
To add a hyperlink to your message, just encase the link as shown in the following example (UBB Code is in red).
[url]www.snowboard.com[/url]

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically generates a hyperlink to the URL that is encased. It will also ensure that the link is opened in a new window when the user clicks on it. The "http://" part of the URL is completely optional.

Email Links
To add a hyperlinked email address within your message, just encase the email address as shown in the following example (UBB Code is in red).

[email]spybotscankissmy455@snowboard.com[/email]

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically generates a hyperlink to the email address that is encased.

Adding Images
To add a graphic within your message, just encase the URL of the graphic image as shown in the following example (UBB Code is in red).

[img]http://www.myfreecolouringpages.com/cat_coloring_pages/cat_on_mat.gif[/img]

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically makes the graphic visible in your message. Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the [img] code. Also note: some

Quoting Other Messages
To reference something something specific that someone has posted, just cut and paste what you want to quote (multiple quote WILL work) (UBB Code is in red).

[QUOTE]this thread will help alot.[/QUOTE]

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically block-quotes the text you reference.

Some years ago we were able to put graphic signatures in our posts. How can we do that again?

^^ With CM you still can. Just click on "edit "about me" and at bottom of everything is an option to upload a graphical signature

^^^ for who, me or you? All I have is a text signature (by my own choice) and being too busy to make me a graphical one. For you, yes, to have one you'd need the CM.
