Trying to keep 30+ somewhat alive.  For most of us it's that time to start getting the gear together, wax the boards and watch the weather channel.

This year I plan on staying mostly local, with a few trips to Bachelor.  I'm also looking at Baker, Tahoe or JH as a family vacation.

You better make Meadows this year...we still have not gotten to take some turns together... I hope we can assemble the posse and all of us enjoy a Friday night of riding, dinner and drinks!

Howdy C!  For being so close to some places - it's jsut far enough that most need to be at least one night stay.  But Sandia is about 20 mins from the house... so we'll hit that after school maybe once a week.  Then it's day trips to Santa Fe.  And then overnights to Durango (Purgatory), Wolf Creek, and Angel Fire.  Hopefully be seeing oldRubberToe, oldMike, and MPD for a couple of them.  Then it's Winter Park to see the coolest teen snowboarder out there- hopefully twice!

Since the wife is living in Utah this winter I'll be checking out a little hill called Beaver Mtn that's just outside of Logan. Her place is also less than an hour away from Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, so I'll definitely be hitting those as well. I'm also still exploring the Salt River Range for good snowmobile accessed stashes.

Good to see ya Latinarider! Been pretty boring here lately.

Latina - we'll be hittin' hood with ya for sure this year. I drive by it way too much on the way to Bachelor to not ride it. I'll be hittin' the local resorts (Stevens, Alpy, Snoq, Crystal and Baker), but I'm plannin on hittin' Hood, Bachelor and Big Mountain this year. And of course a trip up 5 to Whistler. I'm also hoppin' to get down to Utah this year. I have some friend in Salt Lake City that keep askin' us to take a trip down.

Latina - Either me or my wife will give you a call when we head down to Bachelor. We have tentative plans to head down that way the day after Thanksgiving. I believe Ro is headin' down with us, too.
I draw all my own stunts

I'll be staying local.  Trying to decide between a Meadows pass again or a Fusion, so I can try out the new lift and trails at Timberline. I figure Meadows will have mid-week or night specials, so I can still hit it a few times.  Hope I can get together for some runs with you guys this season.

Yeah Snowgeek, we missed each other a couple of times up there. PM me and we will get cell numbers so we can plan to meet at a certain time and place when you hit Meadows. I will be up there 3 days aweek again this year. I am either going to renew my weekday pluss pass at Tline or go for the Fusion...depends upon money. I am looking forward to the new Still Creek Basin area as well!

Yea, I will.  It was funny last year how I'd run into you, but you'd be in the middle of a private lesson.  Or I'd be looking around and not see you, even though we were on the same slope.  Meadows is a pretty big place.  I did find Spotty a couple times, but that's because she has that almost-unique jacket.

Anyone know when Tline's going to open?  I'd think Palmer would have gotten some pretty good coverage already.

Hopefully, Palmer will open up a soon as I need to get a run in for October. I'll probably get the Fusion although I have used the Weekday pass for the last few years which is a bargain. Always try to get on one new resort each year. Would really like to get up to Lake Louise (where I went to the dark side and skied for the very first time before my boy showed me the light). Thought mountain could be a lot of fun.
Expect the unexpected and then just deal with it.

Well most of my time will be spent at local parks....but since an elevation of only 700ft is bogus I am gonna try and hit somewhere in VT at least once this winter.

I hope to be making my second trip west (the first was to WinterPark, co. a couple of years ago) to ride with nmmike, MPD and olerubbertoe at Purgatory, Wolf Creek etc. Otherwise, probably local, assuming we have any snow in central Ohio this winter, which isn't all that promising, given that every significant storm this year has gone way north or way south of us, including the "severe storms" promised for last night. We are 2 feet low on rain for the year.

Well, it was a total bust. The temperatures rose with the tropical moisture moving onshore, so the snow level shot up above Cascade and all night long thursday night it just rained. By Friday morning, they actualy lost snow. Needles to say I did not go this time. It is supposed to get colder on Saturday, so keep an eye on the web cams and telemetry.

Okay, that`s more like it; too bad I have to work the next 4 days though... You guys might have some sweet conditions on Sunday!

The system with the cold air was a bit late, but it`s doing its thing big time now. 12 to 30 inches out of this storm and Meadows has a foot at the lodge.
