Definitely let us know how it goes.  I can't wait to get the chance to see it.
My experience and what I do in snowboarding is really quite
independent of the industry and the more independent it is,
the more pure and better I feel about snowboarding.- Craig Kelly

See this movie, this movie is what First Descent tried to be. Narrated by James Hetfield, the soundtrack is awesome and not only does it chronical Craig's life, it tells the story of snowboarding and it's growth through him and his rise. This movie completely blew me away and I walked out just with a totally different view on everything. This guy gave up all the $ and fame to do what he loved which was back country, big mountain Powder riding. Some of the sickest footage of big mountain snowboarding you'll ever see. I am telling you when this DVD comes out you will need to own it no questions asked!  It's supposed to be released on DVD sometime in November.
They also showed a long trailer for the new MDP movie which is the first snowboarding movie to ever be shot in full HD, this one looks sick too as it follows the guys through last season and their search for snow to get the shots they wanted.  Obviously last years weak snow affected everyone, not just the average joe's/jill's like us!

This movie sounds like a snowboard version of "Into the Wild" or something, haha. I'll check it out.

man, i ordered this from actionfilmer back on 10/24 and it still hasn't shipped, just got my 4th "this item is on backorder" email.  This time it says till 12/7/07.  I tried calling customer service and sending email, becuase the card I placed the order with got stolen and I had to cancel it, but customer service is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of.  oh well.  just bought this somewhere else and it's in the mail.  too bad when Actionfilmer tries to run my card.

Hooray for search function working!  Reviving this, as I just got mine off ebay recently.

IMO, this is one of the best snowboarding movies made.  It may not have as much action, oras many segments, or riders as standard releases.  But the people being interviewed, from Tex Davenport to Jake Burton, all help drive this amazing documentary.  Slight amount of history, just like First Descent, but more focused on the subject: Craig Kelly.  Part of the reason I feel this hits home it it is more of a movie, similar to First Descent, rather than just a huge collection of riders doing their thing.

This movie runs the full gamut: educates you some (depending on how long you've been riding), makes you laugh alot (especially the Landrover part), cheer, and even cry (yes, I did shed a few for the legend).

Soundtrack is amazing.  Great mix of genres and songs.  All seem to fit seamlessly with their section as well.  Hetfield did a good job narrating.

The only drawback I noticed, and I doubt many will, is that some shots were reused in different parts of the movie...never mroe than twice, but they were reused.

If you get one movie this year, I would vote for this one.  9.0/10.  Simply great.

If you like this movie you'll dig Lines, a film about big mountain snowboarding. It's got it all. And they mention craig and his contribution to the sport as well.

Thanks for the reccomendation.  A few of my buddies lso reccomended it when we were in MT in February.  I really like the big-mountain and back-country segments the most in my collection, so I will likely buy Lines very soon.

Thanks again.

EDIT: I ordered Lines off ebay today....new for only $22 with shipping :)
