I am about to book a trip to santiago and valle nevado. I would be staying at the tres puntas hotel for 5 nights and then 2 nights in santiago. I am not an expert snowboarder so I don't need real advance terrain or anything. For those of you who live in Chile is this a good place to go or should I go to a different resort?

If u can change your trip to Chillan (www.skichillan.cl) or somewhere in the south, it would be so much better men. This year is not gonna be good for the central area of Chile (Farellones area and Portillo)
FUCKING GLOBAL WARMING!!!

You really took one of the best  snowbording choices in chile. I live in  santiago, and valle nevado is my favorite place. The hotel  is very good too, you´ll be beside the snow. About weather.. I have no idea, everybody says a different thing.
