Theres a whole punk rock christmas album. It has the likes of Stiff Little Fingers, The Greedies, and of course the Ramones. Other than that i can't help you. Theres two that i know of. One is called Punk Rock Christmas, and the other is called Sleighed, The Other Side Of Christmas. EDIT- I just found an album called christmas with the vandals. [Edited on 12/7/2005]

Joan Jett did "Little Drummer Boy', on her first album (no, she didn't do the drummer, who was a little boy) & I know Motley Crue did a coupla Christmas covers... Kudos to getting a regular show, El...!

In my unkown bands thread, Bill recommended Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I believe they are exactly what you're looking for. Check out their album The Lost Christmas Eve.

I don't know who does it, but there's an awesome re-make of "Ironman" by Sabbath called "I Am Santa Claus" I can only remember one line, goes something like..."leave cookies and beer, he'll back to your house first next year" It's pretty hilarious. T_F, Florida was good. Nice weather, did a lot of fishing and hanging out w/ friends and family. I left Florida and it was 80 degrees, I got back to SLC and it was 30 and snowing. Now some people would see that as a bad thing...no one around here though.

good to have everyone back! be sure to save all the goods that you've pillaged over the last year to give to good little vikings this christmas! ...the ones who have been bad get an eye patch and a hook hand... but yeah.. ummm... actually.. lately, i haven't been listening to as much of my heavy stuff, so not really any viking music to list... i guess zeppelin counts though... oh, and creed.. they are uber viking! Next.......this ones for the guru himself....where do you come up with this stuff....I mean... you ( and a few others) gave me some names for wakeboarding tunes a while back and they were great! I live in the same area you do and I dont hear this stuff anywhere.........

Well, to answer your first question...it's because 12 yr olds allow them to get away w/ it. It's usually kids that are too dumb to know what the diff is between genres. 2nd question....music is a very pertinent part of my life. I constantly look for new bands from all the cool kids on here, headbangers ball, and some others that like the same music that I do. I completely boycott the radio because it will only corrupt your ears. You should know that Utah is a big bubble and fears outside intfluences from music and everything else, herego, I must broaden my search perameters.

sweet, i raise my sword to our new outpost. first off, if you still don't know Turisas, it's time to pick up your keys and drive your car to the music store my friend. and WinterSun, man, can i say shredtastic? i want their album for christmas. i'll also add Manowar, Ensiferum and Finntroll to that list. oooooh yes. El, The Darkness released a christmas album last year, or the year before. i don't know if they have any covers though. other than that, yeah, did i tell you guys that i saw DragonForce? hahaha.

Is it because most stations only play commercial AOR/MOR crap, & don't give new artists fair airplay, or is your country becoming too damn de-sensitised, thereby reneging on the "Freedom of Speech" amendment? What about college radio, or has that, too, become controlled by govt censors?

Ok, gotcha...just wanted to clarify, b4 I said something that may have been taken out of context, &/or mis-construed. Cusano has a valid point, lol; listen to other countrys' radio stations, as most will be streaming on the web, or listen to web-based shows, like what Avran is doing. That way, your musical palate will be heightened (if u let it)

You jerks notice your sweet forum title yet? Ok, maybe it's still lame, as I'm sure half of you will say, so I challenge you to come up with a better one. The best one you guys come up with I'll make the forum description.
