I hope the "big secret" isn't the same "big secret" they have every year, 'cause it's not really a big secret anymore.

I've had passes to Cascade and Tyrol & I think Tyrol does a better job maintaining their jumps & rails. Though I only go on the weekend, I've heard it gets pretty crappy during the week.

Mt. Ripley - Mediocre.  I ride it almost everyday but it isn't that great.  Park usually has some good jumps.  Rails are hit and miss.  It is never setup very early in the season. Terrain is pretty good.  Pretty steep.  Good tree runs.  They built a new lift this summer so accessing the right side of the mountain with the better terrain is much much easier on a snowboard now.  It has weird hours though beware! does not open till 3 on the weekdays and stays open till nine. 

Mt. Bohemia - The reason to work a class schedule with only 13 credits and two days off.  It is awesome.  Steep, cliffs, chutes, Glades, you name it they got it.  Back country in the Midwest.  No park but you don't need one when you have a mountain like that to play on.  You can build some good jumps around the place too.  $99 season pass, can't go wrong there.  It is pretty much awesome.  I will be there most tuesdays, thursdays, sundays for anyone who is up this way. 

Nubs Nob - Best place imo in the LP of MI.  Big, lots of terrain, good park, good pipe, nice glades.  You do not get bored there that is for sure.  If I had to pick a place to go in the LP it is Nubs. 

Bittersweet - Best in K-Zoo for sure.  Have an express lift even though it is so short.  The park is usually pretty good.  I always have fun there.  After a day there it is boring though.  Much better then timber ridge.  A lot of fun in the spring.

I like Lutsen, but it takes a while to get there. Depending on your speed, it's a 2-hour drive from Duluth. Driving up there or back in the dark puts your car at risk--lots of deer about.

That said, it's got 4 different mountains/hills to choose from. The best is either Mystery or Moose, I forget. Head over there on the gondola. On a good day you can ride down and be looking at Lake Superior. Pretty cool, that. Sort of like Tahoe in the Midwest: A more awesome lake, if much less substantial terrain.

Can't speak to the terrain park, if there is one, as that's not my scene. If you're into the musical scene, "Pappa Charlies"--on mountain--has a lot of shows.

Supposedly they're going to be opening up some winch-served terrain within two years. If you're into steeps, that would be worth checking out.

All in all, I'd say it's the best resort in the Midwest, though I've never been to Bohemia.

Chestnut im Galena is nice, cool scenery. they got a couple halfs pipes and some nice jumps and rails and boxs and stuff. you can pull some sick shit there

I realize the chance of getting a reply in the off season is very very low... but hows sunburst? it looked pretty cool from the website. I think I'm going to get a season pass there if I go to UW milwaukee next year.

Spirit Mt. IN Duluth Mn. Always has a killer park. but they got a bit crazy with thier "showtime" jump last season and it was just about impossible to hit the big side. (i think it was at 70-75?) not enough speed for a botter like that there.

Chestnut- It had a really good terrain park.  I think it had 2 pipes when I went there.  Some of the jumps were pretty huge and they had a few beginner/intermediate jumps and rails.

White Cap- Big place but little terrain.  Only a few small jumps and rails, there are some cool little cliffs though.  The first day i got there though, they got about a foot of snow and didn't groom it.  It was awsome riding in fresh powder.  These a lot of trees there too, so you can make some runs through the trees which is pretty fun.

Bittersweet/Timber Ridge/Swiss Valley- All fun places in lower mi.  They're not that big but they're fun and have some decent rails and jumps.
