I've been really happy with Transition Bikes... rider owned and operated out of Ferndale, Washington!  Everyone that sees or rides my Preston falls in love.  They recently came out with a women's specific bike, and it sounds like what you're looking for.  It's the Transition Syren:

If you don't want something women's specific, check out the Covert.   Not sure how much you're looking to spend though.   Also, if you have access to broform.com through a resort or your company, they sell Transitions at close to Proform prices.

I'm giving you some Internet love because I'm in need of it myself, so I figure the best way to get is to give!  Hugs and high fives!  I love your signature because I'm so into high fives... the energy a really good high five provides is so powerful, like a hug.

Thanks =] And you are awfully lucky. For some reason I keep holding off on putting a wax coat on my board for the summer. Maybe it's denial? Either way, congrats on more days!

All is good.  It's my first day back since Telus Fest/Whistler, so I'm recovering and also fighting of a cold.

I got some sick next-years Salomon gear I might try out at Baker this next weekend... I might just be domestic though and stay in and watch movies all week.  My body needs a rest!

I'm no longer unemployed, but hiking sick terrain and snow everyday until I started work was nice!  So yeah, I'm in WA now and doing boring ole work stuff again.
