In my [expert] opinion, every Australian should read "Outback Policeman" by Vic Hall. It is an excellent book so far, and full of unusual 1930's knowledge and slang.
"My Sergeant, an ex-champion wrestler of Glasgow Police, was built like a gorilla and mousteched in a manner calculated to intimidate the entire force of navvies. The famous facial appendage measured six inches from tip to tip and served as a species of barometer."
Wonderful stuff.
Anyway I hope everyone's taking care.
Sweet puddings and sweet dreams.
