Soo, Vegas was epic, as always. I think I'm in love with the Santa Cruz Nomad..mm.. Also, the new Norco Fluid SE rides beautifully. The Stinky Pinky as I mentioned before, just freakin awesome to see. They lowered the price by a good 800 smackeroos, so it hurts marginally less to fork over that $5000. The bike industry is just loving breast cancer awareness, and tons of companies are jumping on the band wagon to support, and gain props for themselves. I scored some pink Scott grips, and pink Jagwire shift cables and housing for my bike.
Did anyone know that JellyBelly is making energy jelly beans? It's freakin crazy! They call them sport beans, and basically, they're bigger JellyBellys, in a tiny little package. They taste pretty good, but I can't really say if they gave me energy or not.
NWD 7 premiere was fantastic. Nothing beats a pool party at the Palms with oodles of drunk bikers, and Sweatshop Union throwin down the beats. Luckily, it wasn't until after we left the Palms that I got thrown into a pool fully clothed. $10 for a redbull and vodka made me and the boys want to take off shortly after the video concluded, and we headed to the Hard Rock to party with the Canadians.. More drinking there, paired with losing money on the slots, and running into Mitch again, whom I love/hate for giving me a ridiculous nickname only 10 minutes after we met. Am I ever going to live down DJ Jazzy Jocelyn? Probably not..thanks again..and you owe me a Roam hat. After the Hard Rock, it was back to our hotel, a cute little resort just off the Strip, right behind the Imperial Palace and the Venetian. Devon and Kyle figured this was a good time to hit up the pool at hot tub. It was about 2am at this point. I decided swimming was a no for me, but I'd go hang out with them down by the pool because they wouldn't let up about it. So I sit down, and not even 5 minutes later, both guys run up on either side of me, and throw me, and my deck chair in the pool. I spent a good 30 seconds being upset about being in a pool in my clothes, and then we just laughed and hung out in there for a good two hours. I'm sorry to the people that had rooms close to the pool, that was us making all the noise.
Obviously, I didn't take out the camera nearly as much as I should've. But I assure you, it was because I was too busy having a good time, and walking for what seemed like 50 miles around the damn Sands Expo.. All in all, it was a good trip. We took the guys that hadn't been to Vegas before down to Freemont St, where the hideously drunk people were actually more entertaining than the light show. Also, the hardcore god worshippers telling us that he's angry with us and we're sinners for drinking, gambling and cursing were quite amusing. I didn't win any money, but I came away with two sweet sets of CrankBros pedals for dirt cheap, and drank lots of free beer, so life is good.

One month and 8 days to Vegas!
Oh yes, you heard right. Kona is making the 2007 Stinky Primo PINK! The Stinky Pinky if you will... How many people are going to pay $5800 for a pink bike with 7 inches of travel you may ask..? I don't have a f*cking clue..but that doesn't keep me from lusting after the damn thing..Even a bro deal from our Kona rep won't make this beast affordable. Ah well, I'll ride that bitch in CO in a month and a half..and I guess we'll leave it at that.
Arrgh! 2 Months, 5 Days to Vegas!
Yaaarrr....Shiver me timbers!
Well, once again I am back in Kamloops after a week and a half of tom foolery in Whistler and a couple days in Vancouver in between. Since I'm feeling lazy, we'll just sum it up by saying one day hanging out with the boys from home was more than enough, as we spent a good hour in a sex shop in Coquitlam. 5 Boys and me..not as much fun as you'd think...I feel dirty. Funny thing was, only my ex was too much of a pussy to buy anything. Following that, on to the Golden Spike Pub, where Mike V. grabbed my cell and proceeded to send very dirty text messages to an unfortunate recipient. I gotta say though, I'm a little more embarrassed by what the recipient said back, since he will be ridiculed by those boys until they forget about it. Sorry dude...
First night in Whistler was Tara's birthday party at the house.. two free kegs that proved to be a whole lot of foam and very little beer, beer bongs as well as jager bongs..crazy.. Very dirty photos of what Aussie boys do when they're bored..(ass on door handle, mangina, lots of Aussie bums) Tara got her cake in the face, and the night finally ended with a fist fight.
One very drunk Thursday night in Whistler, at a bar of which I can't recall the name, made for some really great photos, more are on the way I
promise.. Picked up a random on the bus, cut a very skanky pink sequin skirt for my guy's ex gf..awkward... Danced up a storm, then headed back home to the Spicy house, and apparently I made a b-line for the bedroom and promptly passed out. Of course there are pictures of that as well.. thanks alot Matty...
Oh and of course, who could forget the highlight of my week, the speeding ticket.. 96 in a 60? Don't ask me why I didn't lose my license right then and there..he even gave me the lowest speeding fine possible..YES!

So I'm back home in Kamloops after probably the best week ever. 3 of the sickest days at Castle Mountain, my tattoo is done, and some heavy drinking rounded out my road trip.
Drove out to Castle after picking up my friends in Calgary last Sunday night, had some beers and T-Bar pizza before hitting the hay. Monday was beautiful, a bit hard packed, but with lots of nice wind sift. Spent the day shreddin with my best friend TD and her boyfriend Mike. Took lots of photos, some are in my gallery now. Saw lots of old friends, and I was stoked to see how many people are still hanging around Castle from when I lived there. I also finally got to meet a former coworkers bro, Geordie (mooseknucklur), so that was pretty cool. The resemblance between him and his bro Rod is uncanny...haha. Gotta love sb.com for bringing people together, eh? And you're right Geordie, you are the coolest guy ever.
Monday evening TD, Mike and I made our way back to Calgary. I spent a couple days hanging out around the city, then got my snowflakes finished off on Thursday afternoon. Surprisingly my appointment took much less time than I expected, but no complaints here. But of course, because of that I don't have any pictures of it yet, since my photographer/ride home took off during my sesh and I had to call him to come pick me up afterwards..jackass.. Got to hang out with James for a bit longer though and talk about some other ideas I've got floating around in my head. After leaving Bushido, we went and met a friend at Local Lou's and had a few pitchers, then on to another pub and a few more pitchers. Needless to say, I wasn't feeling too chipper on Friday morning, but I drove to Lethbridge anyways. Saw Norm, who owns Infamous, the board shop that used to be in Pincher Creek. Scored a new hoodie as well as a free t-shirt and stack of stickers. Fook, I love that guy! After I was bored of Lethbridge, which didn't take long, I drove back out to Castle and then climbed into the back of my truck to have a nap until my friend CC got back out to the mountain.
Saturday was so sick, with fresh from during the week. Everything off the red chair was just gnarly, but the lift lines were insane. I've never seen lines so long at Castle, not even when I worked there. Near the end of the day I ran into Geordie again so we hit the single line and did a couple jibber runs off the blue chair since the red chair line was ridiculous. Sunday morning I woke up to a metre of freshies up top. First run of the day I went all the way over into Siwash and North Bowl. F*cking epic! I even got snow up my nose. That's why it really sucked that I had to leave at noon to drive 13 hours through blizzard and rain to Vancouver.
Anyways, I'm fookin sick of driving, and I'm choked that I'm back in Kamloops where the base at SunPeaks hasn't changed since I left. After being back at Castle, I think I may just end up moving back next season...

I'm finally getting my tattoo finished off on February 23rd, and since I have to go all the way to Calgary to see my guy, James Tex, I get to hit up Castle Mountain(where I used to live) and see some old friends during my trip. So, I'm driving over to Calgary on Saturday to meet up with my best friend, and then down to Castle on Sunday or Monday to shred. A couple days to chill in Cowtown until my appt, and hopefully some drunkeness afterwards to deal with my crankiness after losing the adrenaline rush. Then, of course, an uncomfortable drive home, hopefully with a little jaunt back down through Lethbridge to pick up a new Infamous hoodie and catch up with my buddy Norm as well. I'm very much looking forward to this trip, there's nothing I like better than getting stabbed for two hours. As for things around the Loops, I've pretty much given up on school completely now, and I'm quite happy with my decision to not come back next year at all. It'll be back home to make some mad cash over the summer, and maybe fall, then either Fernie for the winter, or a program only offered in Nelson, BC, so we'll see what happens with that. You gotta do something you love, and right now I'm just wasting time and money, and making myself pretty fuking miserable at the same time. I can't wait to get out of here...

So it's late January already, thank fookin jebus.. The only thing I have to look forward to right now is spring break, which starts February 18th. I'm finally getting my tattoo finished off, and since my tattoo artist is in Calgary, it gives me a great reason to make a couple stops on the way to shred.
I'm hitting up my old digs, Castle Mountain for sure, and hopefully Fernie as well, since I've never been. If all goes well I should have a sexy riding companion for at least a day, which should make it even more fun. Hopefully a little jaunt into Lethbridge to pick up a new Infamous hoodie and catch up with Norm a bit. Also I'm looking into buying a new board, and there's no one I'd rather buy it from than my buddy Norm. I'm demoing a new Salomon board tomorrow, so maybe that will help narrow down a few of the boards I'm looking into. It's the Salomon Prospect LTD 157. I'm super stoked to try it out, as I want a board with a ton of flex, and it seems pretty forgiving. We'll see though. I really want to try to support a smaller board company this time, like Capita, Endeavor, or Stepchild. Any suggestions would be appreciated since I'm having a hell of a time deciding on anything. I will admit though, I'm quite smitten with the Option Jordan Mendenhall 156. It's got a nice flex pattern and killer graphics too..hmm..decisions decisions.. Other news in the life of Jocelyn, is that I've decided going to school in the winter sucks ass..go figure. So, because of this realization, I'm taking summer classes instead of going back to Whitehorse, and I'll be taking the winter semester off and moving to a resort. I can't handle only getting to ride once or twice a week, it's killing me. I haven't quite decided where I'd like to go yet, but I'm leaning towards Fernie, since I've heard the terrain is very similar to Castle's but it's bigger. I like steeps and deeps, and that seems like the place to go. I guess I'll see next month whether that's the place for me. Kicking Horse is always another option, or maybe Panorama, although it looks like they aren't having a stellar snowfall this season.

I don't know about that title, but since it's already the 13th, and by the looks of my bank account, I'd say it fits...even though the snow is sh*t right now. Didn't end up making it to Whistler on the weekend. That was a bummer. But the past week has been interesting to say the least, with exam anxiety, drunken phone calls from the ex(blah), and other such fun and stressful activities. Things are looking up though, I'm heading back to Whitehorse for the holidays this weekend, and they're finally getting some snow up there, so I'm stoked. It'll be off to the Haines, AK summit for a few days hopefully. Maybe build a booter, or just chill and film some sledding in between beers. Bought a new digi cam, so I'll be snapping lots of pictures over the next few weeks. Maybe some new ones on here soon. Well, I'm off to battle another day...my truck needs some attention.
Until next time...

Finally, the end of a rough week. Only two more days until a month of freedom! Almost a week since the horrible news about my good friend Kyle breaking his back during his 3rd ride day of the season. What a cruel world.. Finally got a chance to speak with him, and he's doing very well. 6 hours of surgery equals bone taken from his hip to replace the 3rd vertebrae. He has feeling in all the extremities and has even been walking a bit with a brace. Tough kid that one. Tough, but crazy as hell... Off to Whistler this coming weekend, should be a good time I hope. I can't pass up an opportunity to ride there. The next 2 weeks should be action packed with nothing but riding and sleeping..maybe a bit of drinkin in between. That's it for tonight.. Jocelyn
