Well its time to start getting a little more arty on this damn profile. so (when ever we find the time) we are going to start profiling some of our favorite artist. this first one happens to be a friend and a snowboarder and he just so happens to be one of my favorites. corey smith
Corey Smith is a painter and photographer, who resides in Portland, Oregon. so we have a new post series on DandG and it's called ...THE FULL STORY BELLOW .. . DandG did a nice litttle web interview recently with SnowboardCanada Magazine intern Jason Petznick
and ohhhhh did jason get the goods...
SOME TIME AGO ! (in around march to be exact) DandG went to 2 ART
SHOWS IN ONE NIGHT!!! (well actually G couldn't make it so D brought
the beautifull Jacqueline suzanne Cerminara in his place.) i know what
your thinking... how could they. well with a rip in the time space
continum and a pontiac vibe i sapose anything is possible.
i didn't take too many pics of the actual art at the first place...but
thats ok, cause every knows art shows are just about putting on your
favorite pair of shoes and getting drunk with your friends.
the first show was a nice little photo show by SETH FLUKER called
STRANGE DAYS INDEED at the famed ANTI SOCIAL GALLERY (yes the one owned
by pro sketer RICK McCrANK). if you haven't been to the Gallery space
located in the rear of the ANTI SOCIAL SKATE SHOP, then you should go
kill yourself. The place is bonkers and bananas and peaches and
cream....its sweet ok and you never know what kind of magic and delight
it will have to offer you.

the second show was an instalation peice by Wes Cameron and Matthew
(stiffy) Robertson which was titled KNEELING REPRISE. Wes and Stiffy
said good-bye to the space they curate known as Lobby Gallery located
at the Dominion hotel in the (you guessed it) the lobby of the Hotel.
Kneeling reprise was an intervention that involved a sculptural
reworking of the original gallery wall construction into a functional
object (that big white bench looking thing) that related an
anthropomorhpic* gesture.
i'd have to say it was quite nice and afterwards at the lamplighter
(its next door) Victoria, Victoria, Joe abernethy and Zuzia provided a
fitting soundtrack for the evenings end.
*relating to anthropomorphism the attribution or ascription of human
charachteristics to inanimate objects, animals, forces of nature etc.

HEY! me and G got jobs coaching at Camp Of Champions!!!! we were so excited at the idea and the fact that we might be able to pay rent this summer that we made a freakin promo vid-yo. i can't waite for the Blackcomb glacier to open OMG i wish i could freeze myself like luke skywalker or austin powers then wake up just when it time for camp. check it out you might already be web-famous! pshhhhhhhhhhhhha omg!!!!!!!!!!!

The 3rd annual Longhorn Locals Rail Jam is a great excuse for me to get drunk and spout a bunch of shi*t that I always regret the next morning. When will I learn? My guess is never since I've been at it for 16 years now. That's over half my life. The boys over at Under Exposed Media Group really stepped it up this year and provided a sick set up while the crowd provided an energetic, positive vibe, that was completed by presence of a denture sporting, beer slamming, joint smoking granny.

" SNOWBOARD.COM PRESENTS those horrible media giants Gerhard Gross and David Rouleau of the DandGpodcast at Rabitt hill SUNDAY FEB. THE 11TH (sunday mourning). DandG, along with Atomic pro Molly Milligan and the handsome Eric Greene will be shralping and podcasting the're way across the epic slopes of rabitt hill. Photographer John Scarth will be on hand snaping photos of any groms and grom-etts who dare challenge DandG to a game of skate. fun will be had by all and totall radness is sure to ensue !(and i'm sure some free shi*t will be on hand)

Shown here, he is developing a software program to enhance his aerobatics and increase his stompability factor by 34% more than before he hit his head.

Well this is the first Blog i have ever wrote in my life which is largly due to insanity caused by Boredom! Which I will talk about momentarily!!
News flash hit and I got the memo that Vancouver got dumped on and this as I am well aware of happens like once a year if we are lucky. Sooo I headed down to film on some urban rails and get a head start on my season filming For Alterna.. This was actually our second trip down and the first trip went well and shots went down so i was optimistic that the same sucess would come from this shoot.
We showed up at the rail and I was liking what I was seeing! So we started the session. It was a long rail and it took a second to get the Video shot I wanted but it went down well and after I checked the footage I was pretty stoked on what I was seeing. Then I viewed the photographs from the sesh and there was no super bangers soooooo. I should have quit right there but I knew Atomic was wanting dope shots for the new catalogue on the next years shi*t so I got back up there and hit it up again with another trick.....................This is where all hell broke loose. I caught my heel edge on the rail and flew backwards with decent speed down the stairs and smoked my head on the stairs which knocked me out cold then I flipped onto my font and rolled down the stairs all limp hitting my face and other parts on the stairs the rest of the way down! Next thing I remember was waking up in the Ambulance feeling like a can of smashed a**holes!!!
Straight to the hospital for me! I ended up Fracturing my skull in two places which caused me to bleed out my ear! When I flipped to the front I ended up breaking my nose and obviously Bruised the shi*t out of my brain! I was in the hospital for ten days puking my guts out every day!! So lame!!
Anyways my parents came and grabbed me to bring me back to the home front in interior B.C. to eat healthy and get ton of sleep which was a good idea cause I am healing quick in such a mellow environment! Too many temptations in Whistler for sure! But I grew up in Revelstoke then my parents moved to Salmon Arm so I know nobody here and I am one bored guy thats for sure.. Thats why I type shi*t on here! I have become a temporary computer geek thats for sure! Well I will see you all back on the slopes in February! I don't know when I will be filming again so if I have short segment this year now you will know why!! So take care all and have fun on the slopes for me!!
