Spent 9 days in Breckenridge for my family's annual ski trip. Got there a couple days before my family & stayed at Brian's house & rode with him. 2nd day out there we went through the superpark so Brian & one of his friends could make a run through the pipe. On his LAST hit, he landed a little off, caught his toe edge...and ended up with a shattered wrist. Not just a broken wrist, but shattered. I spent all evening in the hospital with him & when we finally left at midnight he had an external fixator on his wrist (pictures in my gallery). He had to go back a few days later to have a metal plate implanted in his arm with about 15 screws going through his bones. He still has the external fixator for 4 weeks, & the metal plate he may have removed in a year. So needless to say, I lost my riding buddy for the week. As a "thank you" gift for taking care of him all week, he gave me a Sined snowboard, brand new in the plastic!!!! I love my new board, Sined boards absolutely rock!!! I also got to try out about 6 different boards from his house during the week.
After my family arrived I moved into the big house. And when I say big, I mean 7200 sq ft of ski-in/ski-out luxury with heated floors, heated garages, hot tub, pool table, theater room....it wasn't bad.
The snow came on Wed., and I didn't realize how much until I hiked the Windows in the morning, and when I dropped in found myself knee-deep in POW baby!!! It snowed from Wed. through Saturday, but Thurs.-Sat. it was COLD, as in -5 with a wind chill factor of -25. Yeah, it was brutal at times, but well worth it. And I totally forgot how smooth all the park hits are until we rode through the park the first day and I hit a line of 3 jumps. Butter. I don't know how I even hit jumps here in the midwest, really doesn't seem worth it after getting a taste of the good stuff.
Can't wait to go back!! Looks like it'll be the last week of March
