Saturday -- rode Tyrol with Edgar. Thursday or Friday I broke down and said I was going to try a 3 this weekend, no matter what. So, I started spinning off a roller, & made it to 270 a couple times but couldn't get all the way around to land a full 360. Edgar hit his shin, AGAIN, on the fun box & it turned into a huge welt. The long awaited blizzard started up and we stayed about an hour or so longer till the snow stabbing me in the face got a little too painful, then went to the Grumpy Troll, yuuuuummmm.
Sunday -- Tyrol again with an extra foot of snow from the blizzard, and it snowed all day. The snow was really wet & sticky so the riding was slow. I started tail pressing the barn box, & continued working on my spins. As you can see below, I had some nice wrecks. Closest I came to landing a 360 was still a 270. And those were always when I didn't think about it. When I thought about what I needed to do, I wrecked. That whole looking over the shoulder thing is ackward when it forces you to turn away from your landing. Oh well it was a start, I'll get it eventually.

Saturday rode with Edgar at Tyrol & finally got an opportunity to hit the barn box for the first time ever, woohoooo! I really like it, but the landing was brutal on my knees so I only hit it about 3 or 4 times. Hit the new t-box & it was good too, but same story on the landing. Found out later that sometime before we got to Tyrol, a 16-year-old girl who was there with her family and twin sister lost control on an icy run and ran into a tree. She was not wearing a helmet, and died the next day. I cannot stress enough how important it is to wear a helmet. HELMETS SAVE LIVES!!! RIP

Sunday met Jason and rode with him at Devil's Head. We saw Annie & Forrest a few times but I didn't ride with them. I only made one run through the park (my 1st run of the day), then didn't go through it again because there were so many gapers in it, it was unsafe. Our last run part of Jason's binding fell off so he had to ride down the hill sled style, then we went back up the lift looking for his binding, and found it at the top of the lift, doh. We both left sort of early & met up again later that night for a little bow chica bowow LOL 8-)

1st time riding after coming back from CO is always sure to be a little crappy. Saturday everyone bailed on me so I went to Tyrol all by my lonesome & didn't stay long, didn't hit the park at all. Well actually, everything I liked to hit in the park was taken out to make room for the pipe, which has not been cut yet. They don't even have the big air jump anymore. Only jump was a really small one on the other park run. Crappy.
Sunday went to Devil's Head with Annie & Forrest & it was fun, but I was still a little gun shy because the snow was so hard & the last jumps I hit were so butter. Didn't want to hurt myself. Only thing I hit was a jump over 2 barrels, 2nd time over sat down on the landing & bruised my butt on the ice. Just from sitting down! I kept hitting it though, started tail bonking the barrels which was really fun. Probably going back to DH next weekend. Maybe I'll start hitting the jumps again. Maybe the snow will be a little softer??

Spent 9 days in Breckenridge for my family's annual ski trip. Got there a couple days before my family & stayed at Brian's house & rode with him. 2nd day out there we went through the superpark so Brian & one of his friends could make a run through the pipe. On his LAST hit, he landed a little off, caught his toe edge...and ended up with a shattered wrist. Not just a broken wrist, but shattered. I spent all evening in the hospital with him & when we finally left at midnight he had an external fixator on his wrist (pictures in my gallery). He had to go back a few days later to have a metal plate implanted in his arm with about 15 screws going through his bones. He still has the external fixator for 4 weeks, & the metal plate he may have removed in a year. So needless to say, I lost my riding buddy for the week. As a "thank you" gift for taking care of him all week, he gave me a Sined snowboard, brand new in the plastic!!!! I love my new board, Sined boards absolutely rock!!! I also got to try out about 6 different boards from his house during the week.
After my family arrived I moved into the big house. And when I say big, I mean 7200 sq ft of ski-in/ski-out luxury with heated floors, heated garages, hot tub, pool table, theater room....it wasn't bad.
The snow came on Wed., and I didn't realize how much until I hiked the Windows in the morning, and when I dropped in found myself knee-deep in POW baby!!! It snowed from Wed. through Saturday, but Thurs.-Sat. it was COLD, as in -5 with a wind chill factor of -25. Yeah, it was brutal at times, but well worth it. And I totally forgot how smooth all the park hits are until we rode through the park the first day and I hit a line of 3 jumps. Butter. I don't know how I even hit jumps here in the midwest, really doesn't seem worth it after getting a taste of the good stuff.
Can't wait to go back!! Looks like it'll be the last week of March
