Wow I actually had a powder day for once in the midwest. Rode Chestnut with Annie & Forrest & it snowed all morning, which meant the groomers were already done before most of the snow came, so we had a few inches of freshies to play on, yaaayy! We weren't knee deep or anything, but it was nice & soft & I was surfing all day long & could still find some untracked powder up until we left in the evening. We still rode park most of the day & I worked on my tail & nose presses, but skipped the jump to surf the untracked part of the park. We even found the steepest run in the midwest I've ever ridden, literally a straight drop-off, but it was icy by the time we rode it & I groomed most of it 8-) Now I'm seriously ready for some real POW in CO, I'll be there all next week baby!

Took a roadtrip with Jason to lower MI this weekend so I could buy a surfboard from a guy who works at Boyne Highlands. We rode there Saturday & had a good time & actually got to ride some real snow for a change, although it was a little packed & icy is some areas. Sunday we rode at Boyne Mtn. which is a pretty big resort for the midwest, but the hill left a lot to be desired. It reminded us of Cascade - crowded, beginners everywhere, and everyone crammed onto one or two main lifts. It seemed every person there was a beginner, and we had a hard time finding a place to get away from the crowds. Neither hill had much of a park, but we had fun. Hmmm, I think the drive up and back was just about as fun 8-)
I bought a used 9' long board & am totally stoked to finally have my own surfboard!! I don't want snowboard season to be over, but at least now I'll have something to give me my fix when it is, I'll be surfing!!!
I have also been looking for a 2006 Hyperlite Murray pro model wakeboard since last summer, and I finally found a good deal on one, as well as some new '05 Murray bindings. So I've got a new surfboard, & have a new wakeboard & bindings in the mail, new toys baby!!! New toys!!

Rode at Chestnut Saturday with Annie & Jason. Park was closed but they had a couple rails, a box, & a jump set up on the main run. Of course I don't hit rails but for me the box & jump were nice. I did the biggest method I've ever done & I actually reached around & grabbed toe edge on it, although it wasn't on purpose. Then we had dinner & when we came back out the snow was a little icier, so I was kinda hesitant about hitting the jump again. But of course I did, and it was a big mistake. I don't know if I freaked out or if there was a rut in the transition, but I went forward off the jump & landed on my chin & knees, bounced onto my back & hit the back of my head, then I think flipped back over onto my stomach. To make this story shorter, I busted my chin open, bruised my knees (again) and bit the side of my tongue. Jason wouldn't let me ride anymore after I got my chin all bandaged up, so we left, & the whole way back to Rockford they made fun of me 'cause my tongue got all swollen & I couldn't tawk vewy well. When I took the bandage off & finally saw the damage for myself, I almost passed out. I think I cried a little too.
Sunday I went to Devil's Head with Annie & Forrest & rode like an injured person who's afraid to fall. It was a pretty short day for me. Hopefully my chin will be somewhat healed so I can ride park next weekend, maybe going to Boyne Highlands in MI 'cause I have to go pick up a surfboard :)

Spent the New Year's weekend riding Tyrol, Devil's Head, and even made it to Crashcade in time to make a few runs after riding all day at Tyrol & dropping off Edgar in Rockford. The snow conditions were not the best, but I can honestly say I'm glad I decided not to go to CO and instead celebrated the new year here. The riding would have killed in CO, but the company I had was better. Enough said 8-)
