My Default Blog
Drove up to WI Sunday (yesterday) to meet up with Annie & Forrest & watch pro wakeboarders do things I'll never even dream of doing. Erik & Jessica showed up in the afternoon. It was fun!! I had no idea who anyone was but I did get my picture taken with a hh-hhh-hhottie wakeboarder, Sean Murray, yess I remember his name now! I had no idea who he was when I met him, but I recognized him later on the podium. Between that, Annie & Forrest trying to fix me up with someone, hanging out with my snowboard buds who I haven't seen since I think March, and taking a ride in the boat of death, it was all fun. I'm going back tonight for the Double Up Del Noche.
Went wakeboarding Saturday & Sunday with Tyler & the couple who
own the boat - exactly the remedy I needed after getting
dumped & all last week. We only did a 1/2 day Saturday b/c it was
overcast & cold, but I got in 2 sessions & the last one was the
best I've ever had. I've only been a handfull of times & am not
jumping wake to wake yet, but I started trying some new stuff, &
nailed everything on either the 1st or 2nd try. I had a loooong last
run & was so tired, & just decided to try some new stuff
because I knew I was going to eat it soon, so what the heck, might as
well go out with a bang. But I kept nailing everything & somehow
stayed on my feet, yessss! I
wasn't doing anything spectacular, but to be able to do something on
the first try and to stay up for so long was so awesome! We went again
on Sunday & both guys on the boat injured themselves on their first
run, then I got out, didall the stuff I had just tried the day before
& wanted to try a couple new things but kept falling before I tried
them. Then all the jet skis and other
boats came in so we parked it for a few hours, then went for lunch at
Blarney Island, then headed home since nobody else was going to ride
again. Something interesting happened after I got home but I'll save
that for later. Hopefully Tyler's back will be healed in a couple weeks
&
we'll be able to go again, & maybe then I'll have my own board.

Well I just got dumped by my boyfriend. Probably should have seen it coming but I didn't. Ugh
Yeah, I finally went wakeboarding for the first time this summer. We
only did a 1/2 day b/c some us actually have to work M-F & I had to
be back by a certain time, but it was enough to make me completely sore
today. I haven't been behind a boat in over a year, I did have to get
the feel for it again, and I think my friend got some nice wreckage
footage of me for his DVD, greaaat. This is just the 6th time I've ever
been, I'd go every day if I could! There's just this one little minor
detail...it requires a boat.
Just got back from a week of vacation. Spent the first 4 days in CO
with my boo boo Brian poo. We met up with a friend of mine who just
moved from Chicago to CO Springs, & the 3 of us went rafting,
yeahh! We did a class IV, & it was my first time rafting, but I
plan on doing it again at least once every summer now. The next day
Brian & I went hiking in Boulder & he almost killed me. We
crossed paths with a pretty little deer on the way down. Spent the last
1/2 of my trip in TX & managed to get in one day of surfing before
the waves died. I honestly can't say which is more fun, snowboarding or
surfing, but I do know I'm going to buy a surfboard and start going to
CA as often as possible so I can start surfing on a regular basis &
try to actually get good at it. I may go next month!
I also got a job offer while in CO, and accepted it! It's contracted
which means I can work it from anywhere (Breckenridge!), although it'll
only be part-time for the first few months, so I'm going to start out
working from Chicago, which means I'm going to spend at least the first
part of the snowboard season still here in the midwest...hello again
Tyrol Basin.
