Yesterday I rode with Annie at Tyrol Basin. I was wearing bunny ears & she was wearing her bat wings! It was my last day of the season here in the midwest, since I'm leaving for 2 weeks and everything will be closed when I come back. I bid farewell to my favorite jump, the jump we have called "Julie's Jump" all season. It had been rebuilt, with a much better, smoother landing, but a smaller gap and the lip didn't boot me straight up like it used to. It was still nice and lots of fun, but I miss the old booter on it. I worked on my melon some more, did it a few times but couldn't get it right when the camera was rolling. I also tried to do a double grab as close to the nose as I could get, but I couldn't get very close, in fact I could only get it close to my foot, but I was at least getting both hands on there every time. I'm going to keep working on that one. Annie had some really nice hits on the 40-ft flat rail, got a couple videos of her clearing the whole thing. We also ran into Coco and she was hitting my jump too. She had one bad fall on it that I actually missed because I was getting myself in place to record Annie. My last few runs were pretty crappy and I was bummed with my very last hit, but it was still a good day, had lots of fun, and I am already missing my jump. Oh well, I guess now I'll just have to settle for Vail ;-)
