1st day back since Christmas vacation, rode at Tyrol with Edgar. The park was pretty good, though not as good as the last time I was there. Still haven't hit the big jump again, ever since the last time I hit it when I went inverted, I'm a little fearful of it. So I hit the smaller jump, which is bigger than it used to be, so I didn't try any spinning unfortunately. And worked on my tail & nose presses on one of the boxes, though it was so short it was kinda hard. I almost did a misty flip off the box when I nose pressed it & my nose got stuck & my body flipped off the end, I almost made a full rotation before I landed lol. Then the jump got a really bad bump in the landing & I somehow caught my toe edge on it & slammed my knee then flipped & my goggles & helmet were all covered in snow. Got a big fat swollen knee from it. The next time I hit the jump, which was also my last time, the bump had gotten so bad that when I hit it I launched off it, flew about 5 feet & landed on my butt. Of course both of those wrecks got caught on video. I'll be back at Tyrol tomorrow & Saturday, then Devil's Head Sunday & Monday. Happy New Year!

It's Ladies' Night at Raging Buffalo, so I ran over after work for a quick session. Only rode an hour 'cause it was raining & I got soaked, then started to worry about my car remote getting wet, lol. The conditions were pretty good! The big jump was the only thing I hit & worked on my methods the whole time I was there, definitely felt an improvement. I tried twice to do a melon - which is what I learned to do last year - and washed out both times, doh! There was a box I wanted to try to nose press, but since none of my friends were there I got a little scared of wrecking & passed on it. I also passed on doing any spinning off the jump, for the same reason, though I think that might be a good jump to try 360s on. The hardest part for me though was trying to get on the stupid tow
rope. 1st time I tried to get on I fell on top of the rope twice! It
took me like a minute to get on the dumb thing, I'm sure it was pretty
funny for anyone watching. Then I had to ride it switch & had some
trouble coming off. Yeah I can hit jumps and nose press a box but I can't ride up a friggin tow rope. Oh, and I figured out today that I am actually on track to hit 60 days this season. 60 days!! I've never even hit 40..and my goal for this year is 50..but 60 days would be incredible. Lots of progression can happen in 60 days, yeahaahhh! Time to go to TX and celebrate the birth of my Savior. I'll be back riding on the 28th! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

Saturday - rode Tyrol with Annie & Edgar. I just have to say, I LOVE TYROL'S PARK!! And I love the guy who builds the park too 8-) Annie & I started doing 180s off the smaller jump. That's the 1st time I've actually done a 180 off a real jump, I was so excited to land them I would just laugh every time. After the 2nd or 3rd one, they were easy! The only hard part was, after the landing got all rutted out, it was a little hard to balance riding out of the hole. On one of them I couldn't gain control, and saw myself heading towards Annie & a rail, so I just laid down to stop myself. Next thing I felt the nose of Annie's board going into my arm, and then I saw Annie's face upside down infront of me. We were laughing so hard we couldn't move. I was tailpressing the down box, but the hole at the end was so big, my knees are still sore from the drop. Annie got a shiner when she came off of a rail just as some kid was stopping in her landing. She almost took out a couple more guys who were sitting in her landing, but I saw them and yelled at her not to hit it. I think I may have saved some lives! Sunday - wanted to go back to Tyrol, but everyone else was going to Chestnut & Annie & Forrest gave us some passes for the demo day, so I went there. Forrest spent the morning throwing up everything he drank the night before, so Edgar & I went, & later Forrest & Annie showed up. Their park was pretty good, but takes a while to get used to. You can't see stuff, have to figure out where to go to hit certain stuff, then have to figure out where to stop so you don't get in the way of anything. I was hitting one of the jumps & boxes. I demo'd a Burton GTwin board and the black & green snakeskin-looking bindings. The bindings were really comfortable, and I like the keyless toe cap adjustment, but the toe cap ratchet didn't work very well. The GTwin is an awesome board, lots of pop! I still like my K2 Mix the best, but that GTwin would be my 2nd choice for a park board. I also demo'd a Flow Push board, but it was a little stiff for my taste. Probably a better freeride board for girls who don't ride park much. I saw a guy with the white Travis Parker TX board, so I asked him about it while I fondled his board a little - I didn't lick it or anything, although I wanted to. I'm going to get that for my powder board Here's a picture of the pretzel 'log' ride I built at Chestnut. I think they should hire me on their park crew ;-)

Rode with Annie & Forrest at Tyrol Saturday & they had their best park setup yet. There was a big jump that was fun, but a little scary 'cause the approach was steep, short, and the knuckle looked painful, so I was practically bombing the approach to make sure I cleared it. I didn't try to grab or anything 'cause I was a little scared going into it, but it was fun! I think that's the most air time I've ever gotten. Only hit it twice though 'cause the 2nd time there were holes in the landing. They had the wide flat box out, so I spent 1/2 the day working on my tail presses & the other 1/2 trying to learn a nose press. Then Forrest had to come along & show me up, he ollied on to a nose press then did like a nollie to a tail press...jerk. Annie started tail pressing the rails. Oh, and my tailbone, shin, and knee were all still very sore from last weekend's wreckage, so I was trying to be careful. I only fell once Saturday, but my ONE fall was at the end of the box, and my tailbone landed right on the lip of the hole at the end of the box. It HHUUUUUUURRRRT! There was a roller too that Sunday they put a nice kicker on & made into a smaller jump. Sunday Forrest had to work so it was just me & Annie, though we ran into Coco & Brandon & later on Sans. We used the smaller jump to practice on, I worked on my methods & Annie did her 1st nose grab. I kept working on my nose & tail presses & hit the big jump several times. Last run before they closed I decided to hit the big jump and the box so I could get in 2 things...and I went inverted on the jump. Not on purpose. I thought I was going to land on my head but managed to get my body into a horizontal position and held my head up, and my butt took most of the blow. Annie thought I was dead. It hurt bad, but I got up, tail pressed the crap out of the box, finished my run, and then let the pain sink in. Oddly enough my neck and back aren't that sore today, but my butt hurts!!

Stayed with Annie & Forrest in Rockford Friday night 'cause we were all going to Chestnut Saturday. Got to the snowboard shop where Forrest works and after they closed we all went out front to videotape some of the guys hitting a jump they spent the day building over the shop sign. Video's below... Saturday was my 1st time at Chestnut & I'm never going back. When I called them Friday it sounded like it'd be really good but it was completely lame, most fun we had was when I tried to convince Annie & Forrest to down a few beers & then let me videotape them riding drunk. They had to leave early for a FMX, & one of the guys flaked so I got his ticket and pit pass! We met the riders and I had them autograph a plastic beer bottle, which is kind of funny because I hardly ever drink. Then I had to play tug-of-war with a security lady to get my beer bottle out the door. She tried to take it from me but I had a death grip on it, I wasn't about to give up all my autographs! We stayed out way too late Saturday night, then Sunday Forrest had to work so just Annie & I went up to Tyrol & met up with Erik & Jessica, and Edgar for his first day since his injury a couple weeks ago. I was so tired and really didn't have any business trying new stuff, but they didn't have any jumps or flat boxes so I hit the C-box and busted my shin on the side of it. It now has a bump 4" long x 3" wide. Sat out one run, then went up and while riding down tried to sneak up behind Erik & spray him but that backfired when he turned in my direction & I crashed into him, & I think we flipped over each other a couple times. That bright idea got me a bruised tail bone. Next run I hit the C-box again & busted my knee on the side. It hurt so bad I almost said the "F" word. Got a nice bruise covering the whole knee from that, aand the paint on the box came off onto the knees of my snowboard pants so I've got a nice souveneir. After that I went to lunch & spent the rest of the day videotaping Annie on the box.
