Drove up with Kristin today.
On the hill within an hour after opening.
Great snow.  Groomed but some powder on the sides.
First jump on the left side of the beginner terrain park had pow pow and pow on the landing.  Crazy.
Met up with Dave, Chee from Yahoo; Jon, Gamy and Montoo from Meetup as well as Abe and Julie later in the day.  Everyone met up for once in the bar.  Rare.
Abe found untracked pow in the moguls.  Wish I had thought to check that out.
Sunny for most of the day.  Actually got hot standing still.
Spent most of the day in the park for once.
Worked on getting a grab in.
Got it down after some tips from the crew.  Stoked.  Spent all day doing it over and over.
Kristin took video at the end of our day.  Nice ones of Dave especially.  Ha ha.
Hit the bar afterwards to chill.
Ended up staying until 8:30.
Tall Barcardi & Diet, 2 shots of Jameson and 1 SoCo Lime helps the time fly by.
Here's to new friends and progression.
Shot bibs.

Had a free liftticket voucher burning a hole in my pocket so I was glad to get up to DH today.
Met Amy from here and rode up to DH.  Met Abe and Julie from here up there.
Sunny all day.  Icy at first, then slushy ice later.
O-Matic Awesome for 1st time.
390s
Spent most of my time in the park for once.
Cold pizza AND hot pizza for lunch.  And who can say no to free pitchers?
Hit 5 different jumps today.  There is documentation of this.  :B
There is more to do than freeride short runs in the Midwest.
Overall great time for what may be the last time this season.
Nice meeting good peeps from here.
Looking forward to next time.

Got out later today.
Overcast today with fresh snow on top of packed.
Ext-remo w/ Cartels
Watched some of the couch jumping then took a few runs.  Found K and P.
K and I headed back to Smokies to check out more couch jumping and some rail sliding.
Saw M from Meetup there as well.
Had been looking at the couch most of the day and thinking about hitting it.
At the end of the day, was going to do it after P and D were, but they stratched their first runs.
Waited forever for them to go up and come back down again so after some prodding, I  finally decided to hike up and hit it.
First time, slid out on heelside on landing.
Funny guy said that I'd been looking at it all day and finally decided to try.
Hiked back up to hit it again.
Same thing - slid out on heels.  And that was all she wrote.
Good times this whole weekend.
Couch.

Midwest Snowfest 2008
Nice and sunny, packed groomers
Ext-remo w/ Cartels
Spent a good portion of the day with the wife on the bunny hill and then a long green run.
She's coming along but wants to graduate first before going for it all
Attempted my first rail - a small one in the beginner park.  Slipped.
Did a little night riding after fab dinner.  Kinda eerie going up the lift in the dark.
Attempted to ride switch one whole run.  Mildly successful.
Crazy party at the bar afterwards.  Tim is nuts.

Premier w/ CO2s
Took it easier today since we were all a bit tired from previous two days.
Forecast said 5-11 inches.  AND it was coming down the whole time we were there.
Man, powder, trakced or untracked, is it for me.
Worked blues and one side of the mtn that we did not hit on Sunday.
Did catch tail edge at bottom of lift that slammed by head so hard my helmet and goggles flew off.
One of us quit earlier so me and the other went up one for time for a good run to end our trip.
Slow going back home b/c of the snow, but no complaints at all.
We'll be back someday.

Smaller than Big Sky, but blue tree runs with pow made it better.
Premier w/ CO2s
Had a few good slams, catching toe on traverse and hurting left shoulder a bit.  Also little bruise on chest from cell.
Lifts weren't as forgiving as Big Sky.  Slammed off one.  Right after me, two more boarders did the same.  Could have been inattentive lifties.  Who knows?
Got separated from buddies and tried to find them w/o luck.  Should have used the Motorolas.
Quit earlier than them since legs were tired.  Also slams may have taken a bit out of me.
All in all, a nice change of pace from Big Sky.

1st time on big mountain in forever!
1st time in true powder!
A few powder tumbles.
Mostly cloudy all day but sun popped out a little.
Supermodel with CO2s.
Man, it is harder to turn in the pow sometimes!
Challenger lift is highest I've been as far as I can remember.
Did run over a rock while on a cat walk and scratched the base.
Man, I wish I lived closer.

Last day with CHILL for me.
Snow was the best it has been all season.
Most of the kids in my group didn't need much help.  A couple still did but were mostly content to do their own thing.
Helped out teacher again before her trip to CO.
Wish I could do Friday but gotta pack for MT!

First time at AV in years.
Bluebird day, nice snow, hardly any ice.
Premier w/ CO2s.
Rode with Kristin for first 1/2 of day.
We rode all the open lifts and most trails at least once.
Kristin quit early so I rode another hour or so until the ice started forming in the shadows.
Earlier in the day, a kid cut in front of me.  Couldn't stop in time so I hit him.  Body on body, no boards smacking together although my hammys landed on the edge of a board.  Should be a nice bruise.  Kid was fine.

Icy cold day.
Nice couple base stratches on the Extremo.
Time to ptex!

2nd week with CHILL
Rainy, slushy with rain tapering a little as the night went on
1st time on Ext-remo as well as Freestyle LTDs
Kids hit the tow rope for 1st time
So did 2 teachers
No instructor with me and other volunteer
Spent most of night trying to get teacher comfortable with toe edge and then turning
A few kids were just burning down the hill on their own
I suck at teaching

1st time riding w/ Ray!  How did we go this long w/o riding together???
Nice and sunny.  Cold to start the day, but it warmed up nice as the day went on.  More crowded as well, but that was on the main lift near the ticket window.
The Hero w/ brand new 07 CO2s.  Love those bindings.
Had to take a few breaks b/c Ray is out of shape HA HA.  He also had to mess around with his CO2s to get them dialed.
Did a little camera work with the helmet cam I got for Christmas.
Good shtuff.

2 runs with Supermodel - base stratch, put it away and rode The Hero with Salomon Relay Pros the rest of the day
The Relay Pros need work. Heard they fixed the toestrap on the 08s.  May just have to pick up a pair.
