About Me

I needed new bindings, so I went to a sale in Crested Butte. They had gear for cheap, but I didn't dig their selection so I carried my boot up the hill to the Colorado Boarder. They only had 07' gear for sale, but the Burton Cartel's technology sounded sick and my boot fit perfect in them... I went back to the sale, then decided to go buy the Cartels. F u c k it, I want gear I can rely on for a few seasons; I've busted every single piece of gear I've owned  except for my current set up, which I finally started spending good money on... Now, I'm super-stoked for the season. Plus. I like supporting locally owned ski-bum stores with cool employees.

Words of Wisdom

Long live Hunter S. Thompson...
There was really no choice: we would have to run the gauntlet, and acid be damned, go through all the official gibberish, get the car into the hotel garage, work out on the desk clerk, deal with the bellboy, sign in for press passes - all of it bogus, totally illegal, a fraud on its face, but of course it would have to be done...

Welcome to Las Vegas: When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro

"Our full focus is the Taoist point of power. When we are totally present we generate tremendous energy. Yet how rare it is to give our full attention to anything. Most people spend their days in internal monologues of worry, future plans, and self-criticism. Even while listening to others we are rehearsing our answers, slipping back into yesterday or worrying about tomorrow." Diane Dreher said that...

My Blog: Wednesday, November 01, 2006
A total of 65 inches of snow have fallen on Wolf Creek this September and October, allowing the mountain to open on Oct. 26, it's earliest opening ever. I went on the 29th, and I was expecting the typical early-season experience: a couple groomers and a few rails. I was okay with that; I just wanted to make some turns. Wolf Creek, however, exeeded all of my expectations. Those crazy mofos pretty much opened the entire mountain and said 'go ahead and kill yourself if you want.' It was cool. Not only were we ripping lines in October, we were ripping lines through tress (with not many branches sticking out), hucking off cornices (into soft snow), riding blacks (and chasing our slough down them) and having a hell of a time remembering why we live on Colorado's western slope.
The first run we did was down some black moguls - what better way to remember how to turn than force yourself to make some? By the end of that run it was on. My buddy Becker and I were feeling the flow and flowing around trees like last season never ended. Damn it was fun. The only bummer is now I have to wait three weeks before CB and Telluride open so I can ride again. Maybe I'll get lucky though and be able to ride Silverton before that. . . Life is good!

Thank you. Things are good. But the weeks are too long and the weekends go by too fast. Time is just so unfair at times. What have you been up to lately? :)
