As much as I love snow, I have to say that I love the 5 weeks of sunshine we get here in Washington. Camping ,Hiking, riding Motorcycles, wake boarding and all that other fun outside stuff. I'm pretty excited about the trips that are in the works for this summer. Of course most will be local....due to the fact that I'm pretty much out of Vacation for the moment. Next year will be another story. My job will be one big Vacation. I can't wait. 5 Months of riding motorcycles through Europe and 7 months to do what ever the hell I please, Including snowboarding in the Alps.......If they get snow. If not I'll just have to spend my winter in the N.W.
I haven't had time to post any pics from my motorcycle trip through Northern Italy. I've been working pretty much everyday since I got back 3 weeks ago. ugh!!!!!
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing good and let me know whats up!
XOXOXO
Christine

It's hard to believe that I've been home from my Austrian trip for over a month now. Anyone that know me would know that there is no way that I could come home from a trip like that and not work my ass off for the next one to come. Which is what I've been doing. Which leaves little time for snowboarding. It seems that when my one day off a week comes the snow is crappy. Anyway's I'm sure I'll get up there before the season is over.
Well Austria was amazing and I can't understand how 3 weeeks here can seem so slow and 3 weeks in Europe feels like an extended weekend. So because of that, I will be heading back for 10 days of riding.....motorcycle this time, On May 8th. We'll start in Innsbruck AT and make our way down to Cingue Terre IT through Switzerland. The roads should be nice and clear since the Alpes really didn't get much snow this year.  Just me and Michael. It will be a blast and to be honest this trip is the only thing keeping me sain at the moment. I really cna't stand my job. It's getting in the way of my personal life!

Well that's all that's going on in my life for the time being. I'll try and load up a few more shots of my trip. It seems to take forever Maybe I'll do one a day so my computer doesn't freez up.

Hope all is good
Christine

Well, the day has ALMOST arrived! Tomorrow at this time, I will be on a plane heading to Austria for the longest vacation I've had since I was in High School.......a very long time ago. The  snow there has been little but the good news is,  it looks like I'll be bringing some of our fab Northwest snow with me. The conditions here in Washington have been amazing and I wish I had more time in Dec to enjoy it, but I'm sure all my friends will be up on the MT enjoying the pow-pow for me while I'm gone. Anyway, just wanted to wish everyone a great New Year and I'll be back Jan 21st to take advantage of the snow we have in our own "back yard".  Till then, Take Care and no broken bones.....or dislocated shoulders!!!
XOXOX

All I have to say is if I hear another version of Jingle Bells or Santa Baby by some "top 40 artist" I'm going to puke. Not only do I have to deal with this music on a daily bases but because Christmas has become so commercal, I have no time to ride. This is due to the fact, like most of you out there, taking time off during the Holidays is NOT allowed! Given the fact that I have very little free time and too much "grown up" stuff to do, Snowboarding has to take the back seat. Like it does every December. I guess what I'm bitching about is I loath cheez-ball Christmas music, Big wig corp', malls, Being a grown up, and not having time to ride when the snow is awesome! BAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Well it's here......snow everywhere! I went up to Stevens Pass yesterday with a few Friends/S.B. members and rode for the first time this season. The snow was great, especialy for Nov. I have to say i didn't push it to hard. I was just trying to work out the summer legs, and I really don't feel like screwing my self up before I leave for Austria.

Anyway, after a great day with the guys I came home to find 2 inch's of snow at my apartment and as the night went on I had a total of 4 inch's!!! This morning some of it has melted but it just started snowing again, and we should be getting another 3 inches by this evening. I love snow!!!

Okay I am officially sick of Fall. All Fall ( to me) is a wasted 3 months, inbetween summer and winter, where I sit around my house and dream of the snow and reminisce of the amazing events of the summer. BORING,BORING,BORING!!!!! Not only am I bored but I'm terrified of the rumors that our Winter is going to be warmer and drier then usual......%&$# that!!!! I know that even if we had a good season this year, nothing would compare to the awesome snowfall we had last year, but damn, if this year ends up being like 2004-05........... I can't even go there. At least I'll have a month in Austria. I guess all I have to say is DAMN El Nino, Global warming and George Bush!!!!! Oh and Fall too.

Well, ALOT has happened since the end of last season. I  rode a motorcycle through the Dolomites In Northern Italy for a week. I met an amazing man and some amazing new friends, saw and did things I'd only dreamed of,and for the first time in my 33 years of being on this earth, Everything I ever wanted seems to be falling into my lap. I could possibly be living in Austria before this seasons over, and as far as my employment might go. I have a fairly good chance of being involved in a motorcycle touring company that would give me the opportunity to travel around the world for a living ,on a bike, which would give me the whole winter off to snowboard the Alps with the man of my dreams.
It's funny to me that right when you're about to give up on your dreams and say f*ck the universe it throws a curve ball and things just fall into place. The last thing I expected when I went to Europe was for all of this to happen. I knew I'd come back changed, But not like this.
Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is, no matter how big your dreams are, Keep your chin up and just have faith in the Universe because it will give you what you need......when it thinks you're ready.

So I had the amazing opportunity to witness, in person, what many American's have not. The Moto GP race at Laguna Seca this past weekend. The most technically demanding track on the world tour. I was able to get within arms reach of Rossi, Hayes and Pedrosa, Just to name a few. I have to say that witnessing these (gorgeous) men whipping around corners at 150+mph with the roar of the motors rattling my soul and smell of the race fumes had to be one of the most exhilarating things I ever experience. I will for sure be there next year and, if anyone is into speed, I would recommend checking this event out before too many Americans catch on and you can't get a ticket. #46!!!!!!!!

Well I'm back from the most amazing, life changing, 12 day holiday I've ever been on! It stated out in Milan then off to Bellagio, then Bolzano and finally Saint Ulrich where I rode a BMW 650 CS for 6 days around the Northern Italian Alps and Austria. I met the most amazing, spirited, sincere people there; and am happy to say I have made some life long friends. The scenery was unbelievable and has to be one of the most spectacular places in the world. It blows away anything in North America.
Not to mention they have ski resorts like we have Starbucks......don't even get me started on the coffee (or the wine and food for that matter) Anyway, I'm very sad to be back at "Home" but I'm saving every dime I have to get my ass back over there,  bringing my board and not coming back! Until then I guess I'll be hunting out what snow is left here and doing the usual hiking, camping, and riding my motorcycle. That will keep me smiling til I get back....until next time

Ciao

Okay....maybe I was jumping alittle ahead of myself when I said my season was over.....but its on hold, and I DON'T like it! I have way to many things going on at the moment and not enough time to do what I love. That makes me sad! I need more good in my life, or at least have the time to enjoy it. Oh well, I guess that's life and I just need to "Metal up bitch"(t.m. Roman:) Anyway, I have many wonderful trips planned for the summer and hopefully I'll see the light soon. Cuz I really hate this grey period/spring/work!

Well it was a great one! I don't know if I'll have another season like last year for a long time. There was something magic about it. I Was going to try to hit Baker this week-end.....but it's not gonna happen. I guess it's on to bigger and better things, that is until the snow comes again. Nothings better then snow. I'll be sure to keep every one posted on my Summer adventures. I've got a few things lined up.

Ciao for now,

Charlie and I got back from Telus/ Whistler last night and I've been totally depressed all day long. I think I might pull my old Cure c.d's out, dress in all black and smoke all day till I fall asleep again! LOL!!!  Whistler was so beautiful! The sun was out and the snow was awesome, for April. We watched the Half pipe comp and got some pretty amazing pictures. We drank, danced, laughed at alot of stupid people, rode, got burnt....it was way cool. I can't wait until next year!.......But until then, there's still Baker! Hopeful the weather will be like this weekend, Cuz there's nothing like Baker in the sunshine! Well, if I have time I'll post some pics. for now I have to get all my stuff ready for the work week, sooooo sad.

Props to Mr.$ for making this season one of the Greatest!!!!

Well I'm heading to Telus Friday morning with my injured partner in crime. From the looks of snowpunks pictures we'll be in for a very good time! We've gotta come back Sunday so we'll miss the big Snowboard.com party, but I'm sure we'll find some trouble else where. Romor has it that the snow is great for April as well. I better catch up on my sleep now!

It all started 5 years ago when a friend of mine told me about a web site called snowboard.com. It wasn't much.....just a place to meet other snowboarders, find out about events, resorts, snow, Post a couple of pictures, and other things relating to snowboarding. Everything was pretty cool...the site had some troubles sometimes but not anything they couldn't fix. As the years went by you'd run across a few people who had probibly never seen snow, and of course the kids who want to try and "hook" up online or write some dumb comment. No problem, I think, that crap happen's on a web site.
Well last November my beloved snowboard.com became the"colonies" At first I was like"cool, maybe the site won't freeze up as much, now I can post pictures with more ease" .....I was wrong! I have never had as many problems with a web site then I have when this one switched over! Snowboard.com sold out! What's up with the whole "karma", "hottness", "radness" shi*t! I din't realize that snowboarding was a popularity contest!
Isn't this about snowboarding?  Why is it that 80% of the time a members page has NOTHING to do with snowboarding! Some chick has over 50 pictures of her doing nothing but making pouty faces and showing her stomach....and how many times have you seen the dude with his shirt off leaving a comment like"hey, hit me back some time your hot" oh or there's the chick from Chicago who's devoted her whole page to promoting her metal band. What the f*ck...no wonder the site won't run right!
Anyone that know's me or has corresponded with me over the last 5 years know this blog is out of character, But so is this site now, And any "old schooler's"or people passionate about snowboarding will probibly  agree with me!!
Since the site won't let me log on or check my mail 99% of the time and no one that runs the site seems to want to respond to all the e-mail's I've sent, even though I paid to be a "core"member, I probibly won't be here much anymore. So if you want to keep in contact please "Mail" me your e-mail address and I'll make sure to respond.
Well It was good while it lasted.... I'm OUT!

Well this has got to be getting old....but not really!  Yes, Once again, I had a fab week-end up at Stevens! It started out looking kinda lame but we met up with "snowpunk" & "elsnowboardo" and did a few runs on the front side and after poor viz and okay snow it was decided, "let's hike the "playground" After a morning/afternoon of hitting kickers in the sun, (Roman, Charlie....you rock!!!!) It was time to head in and fill our hungry belly's. That's where Nikko comes in. And easly persuaded us to follow him along the top ridge of 7th....What an amazing/ sketchy hike.....but well worth it!  Gives me chills just thinking about it!!! Sunday, was again, spectacular! We met up with the same crew plus Jon and a few more provisions( beer, food,  shovels and more beer) and made the playground just alittle more beautiful. After hitting the kickers and hanging out with the sausage fest a few hours I decided to take things into me own hands and hike up to the ridge. It was amazing to be up there all by myself and to look up and know the only tracks coming down were mine. When I got back to the guys it was time to eat. So back to the front side where I finally met the illusive "katiekins" And rode the park with her and her man....It's always nice to meet new S.B.Com friends, special a girl that know how to ride.  Anyway that was my week-end. Thanks MR. $ for making it rock...Til next time!!!!!!

Well, I went up this week-end..........We need some new snow NOW!!  Usually I can find lots of fun stuff to do no matter what the snow conditions, This week-end It was a little more tough to stay positive. It might have been the bonk I received on the head and tweeked neck after landing a jump and catching my back edge....uhhhhh!!! Oh, did I mention I nailed my tailbone about 100 times!? Needless to say I did manage to get my sorry(and sore) ass out of bed on Sunday and make a go at it. We found some softer snow and hiked around again yesterday. Much better! I guess everbodys gotta have a lame day where nothing seems to work and that would have been Saturday. Anyway, all is looking good and hopefully we'll be getting at least a few more inches before next week-end! I hope I heal fast...takes a little longer now that I'm an old lady. Well hope all is good this week and pray to the Mt. gods for more snow. Take care $

Well I only was able ride on Sunday this week-end but it was probibly one of the best days this year. I can't believe I would say that due to the fact that there's really been no new snow in the past week. I ended up at Stevens and we just hiked around ALL day (Top secret location of course :) and rode some amazing stuff. It was a blue bird day and I was in good company! Just what I needed! I can't wait to go back! AMAZING!!!! Anyway, back to reality and another work week...by the way I HATE Valintine's Day!!!

I'm hitting Stevens on Sunday. I can't wait to use my new board!!!!! I know there's no new snow but it will be nice to go up and not be all bundled up like I'm going on some artic adventure...not that that wouldn't be fun. Plus there might even be some sun which is always nice this time of year. So I guess it will be a day of racing around and playing in the park. Oh and a shout out to Mike and Haero who are"playing" in Torino....Sooooooooo jealous you guys!!!!!!!

Well, Baker was closed on Sat and conditions didn't look too hot anywhere else, so it was a day of rest and lazyness only to be followed by a night of "dance party U.S.A." with jello shots in bed! Needless to say I was able to get up fairly early and make it up to Baker on Sun. I'm still getting use to my new boots so I'm not rideing up to par yet, but Mr.$ was extremly patient and helped me set my bindings a little and slowly but surely I will be my "bad ass" self once again. The Banked Slalom was cool and the awards ceromony was even cooler(literaily) Maybe it was the cold beer in my hand? Anyway's overall AMAZING week-end yet again, And now it's time to go back to work and think about nothing else but the next coming week-end. Oh yeah I got talked into buying a board while I was drunk......NOT FAIR!!!!:) Oh by the way......I'm very sorry to hear that the Seagulls lost the Superbull. I hope everyone is okay.

Big White was a bust.......for me. I slept in and missed my ride. Not having a way up to Canada, I decided to take things into my own hands and went riding with Mr. Mun-e at Steven's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I had a blast! Probibly more so then with "people" that could leave me cuz I'm 45 min late. I'm pissed ....can ya tell? Anyways  the snow was amazing and the riding was "sick":) I was with wonderful company, and actually did quite well on the pipe(for me).Well I can't ride today but rumors have it that it's going to be insane! 18-24-inch by midday at Stevens!!?? What the f*ck????..Baker's next week-end And there will be a shi*t load of snow up there, so I've got that to look forward too. Anway overall it was an f*cked up awsome week-end. What can I say, that's my life.
