[twilight]
the stars shimmer so fair in the night sky
covered in clouds yet immersed in the moonlight
most of creation could not see their shine
yet they stay there, gleaming so fine
[when they forget]
when i shoot off a gun
but not into the air
would anyone care
not even a one
they could bury me there
right under the sun
with unmarked stone
it's only fair
for the life i have lived
and the sins in my bones
for all that i shared
yet left nothing to give
get on with the world
until it is done
a story untold
undeniably gone
