Last night, I went to the St-Jean Baptiste celebration here in Peterborough.  I have discovered that the entire Francophone population (save 10 of us) are either under 13 years old or over 35! it wasn't the best celebration I've been to, but met some great people, listened to a great band from Quebec, and heard a bit of a rumour that led to my next adventure.

I heard that Davey Jones from the Monkeys was in town giving a free concert. I had to find out if it was true! So I left the St-Jean celebration, dropped my car off at home, and headed down to the waterfront. I started listening for loud music and following the noise... first place I stumbled apon was the Greek Festival.. Not quite Davey, and they were just closing up for the night, so no good food left!   So off I went again... more loud music, but I wasn't getting my hopes up.... until I saw it... a stage, and hundreds of people sitting on lawn chairs singing along, with Davey!!!  It was awesome! Although I missed the first 45 minutes of the concert, the last hour was great!  Plus, to finish it all of, a fab fireworks presentation!!! My only regret is not having my camera along for this random adventure!

Apparently there is a 'festival of lights' and every saturday and wednesday they have a band play, and then fireworks or boats that are all decorated with lights perform routines on the river.  Too bad all the good bands are playing while i'm in BC! ah well, c'est la vie!

I spent this weekend with some of sb.com's finest EC drunks! It was a weekend of complete randomness, as you can see by some of my pics and videos.  Walking around in that heat, after a stop at the Steamwhistle brewery, is just asking for sillyness!  I had a great time with you boys and can't wait to do it again!

I'm having a bit of a crisis. I can't for the life of me decide what I want to do next year.

Whistler would be great.. but I don't think I can afford staying out there the entire year, so I was thinking of heading out end of Dec/January-ish.  I will have to fly back for a wedding in February though, so not sure if I can find a job that will give me a week off.

Vancouver would be fabulous, but I still haven't heard anything from the schools I have applied to. I doNt, know the town enough, and it's so huge... still not sure if i'm ready for that, but will take a serious look when I'm there this summer.

London, Ontario.. yeah I know it doesn't sound as glamorous, but I have a place to stay so I can save some cash.  I have 2 great schools that I can supply teach at making 220$/day minimum without having to work full time. That way I can take holidays when I want (ie make it to the entire week of telus), stay in the city I still pretty much consider home, and live with my best friend.

I have to make a choice... live pay check to pay check and try to have as much fun as I can on a budget, or stay in Ontario for another year and actually make some cash to move out West in a couple years, while being able to afford having some fun and travelling.

Grrrrrr i hate being a grown up and having real responsibilities and depts and having to make responsible choices!!

Report cards are done.. which means the next 3 weeks of school are going to be marking free and fun! woohoo!! plus most of the kids are leaving on class trips, so tomorrow I only have 2 classes to teach! Bring on summer!

And I've started to get my place sorted finally. My parents are coming up on Wednesday to pick up a load of my stuff.. which means i'm trying to pack and decide what I won't need for the next month or for the summer.

So... think I'll need my hula skirt in Whislter?
