For those who are an active part of this snowboard.com site, I'm a regular here and in the forums. In the last couple of weeks I was actually very amused when I read a private message one of the children here sent me.

ur a goof, u kinda look like luenet the clown off big cumfy couch sadly enough, that's probably y u have a chicken and a cat as ur main picture, that's probably y u go on other peoples threads and dis them cause u probably have a low self asteem but don't worry there's places u can get help

The individual who sent it has a profile that says he's 17, but with such poor grammar and spelling, I question his actual age, such as if perhaps he is more like 12. Anyways, while I have nothing personal against any little kid. This is the thread he was referencing to: The Coke vs. Pepsi thread (Oct. 2006)
He had started many other retarded threads which a few of were bored with, so I guess he took that particular thread hijack personally (heck, I recently hijacked my own thread in a forum here, it's a part of internet life).

I got a laugh when I read his message. Since I change my profile avatar on a regular basis, this is the pic he is referring to:

Me being a female, I think it's cute. I have no pictures that I can think of in any of my galleries, etc involving a couch, so I was scratching my head trying to figure out what he was talking about. Did some web searching, and vaguely remember seeing something in the TV Guide channel line up.  Turns out it's a children's TV show called The Big Comfy Couch geared for audiences like Sesame street and Barney ages.  The google search says "Join Loonette and Molly for fun" in the main page/google hits caption.

What puzzles me the most is what true 17 year old watches a children's show geared at pre-kindergarten age AND knows the characters names, yet can't spell have the words correctly.  Anyways, I did block him from my profile since I don't have time to deal with immature children (and I question his true age).

My only request here; it's probably easy to figure out who I'm talking about based on the thread link, but please do NOT flame or harrass him. I'm only writing this particular blog for entertainment purposes ONLY.  His comment I found very amusing, and I even replied letting him know I thought so. Everyone makes mistakes and I can forgive, but nonetheless, it was an amusing quip of the month and a light blog entry for me to write - especially in light of the scary real life events throughout this year of 2006.

Fourth of July weekend, I wish I could have said I went camping... But I didn't  I'm in summer school right now, and it pretty mundane... Interestingly mundane. Last Thursday night I started off my 4 day weekend with a bang. I was caught making out on the patio... of a bar. But its okay, I guess. I woke up feeling damn good. The next few days we spent drinking a conversing with friends at the river and riding bikes. Then my little sister came for a visit and hooked me up with some hot threads.

Saturday the Dance Revolution Part II occured after I intoxicated myself at a birthday party with Erin and Dj Jimbo. I then conducted us over to our friends apartment were we all danced until the early morning. And Erin got caught making out in the kitchen. I returned to my apartment about 5 a.m. and sat on the lawn with the 2 cats until someone rode by and gave me the oddest look. I was still in my party dress holding a Miller High Life cuddling 2 cats, at that point I need to get into my apartment asap so no one else could see me at that point.

Monday of course was school, then I think there was a little bit of bike rides and pizza and some time well spent researching. In the evening I thought it would be nice to have drinks with Erin but when we got to our down town locale, there were massive amounts of people we know. Upon locking up my bike was Thursday nights makeout man, we had a drink there was akwardness that left a little unsatisfied so I took off home.

4th of July started kinda shi*tty, we had okay weather and about 3-5 invites to this bbq that started at 2 p.m. but we thought it might be nice to go to the swim spot at the river. Too bad it wasn't, the weather was crappy and there was the most annoying family following us down the path. They're kids were litterally up my ass as I jumped across rocks and the mother spent her entire time bitching out her children and beer bellyed husband. We left there quickly came back into town took naps and I proceeded to get my ass drunker than shi*t and go to that bbq. The town of Eugene has become rather small for the "out people", especially over the summer. Erin says you can't walk down the street without humming the tune from Cheers because thats what this place is like. Well Erin forgets people don't know my name really, they know her hair and my adorable dresses. We all lit off fire works, tried to ride over and see the huge firework show and at one point Drew dropped Erins phone on a used condom that was in the park. It was full of you know what. I rode to Horsehead Bar, had an akward encounter and rode over to my homey's house to cap the night off with Freak & Geeks and snacks and making it to my bed by 2:30.

It could've been better had there not been so many akward moments due to Thursday night's stupidity. But it sure could have been much worse.

So I know that no one realy like to break bones. For me its not so much the pain of the actual broken bone that suck as much as it is my season being cut short. Just a few weaks ago(three today to be exact) I broke my left wing(colar bone) That crap sucks. What sucks even more is there is nothing that they can do about it. Only in very uncoman cases do they operate and put pins in it. So The doc gave me enough Perkaset to become an adict and said were this sling and I,ll see you in a month. Bull shi*t. So here I sit three weaks later and the only thing I have left to make me feel better is this web site. If I caint ride my board then at least I can talk about snowboarding and help people out with equipment questions. See you gys in the threads. God Speed.

Parties are fun, or they can be fun.  Sometimes you have to make your own fun.  Other times the fun just happens.  Often a bit of both are in order.  I recently was at a shooter party.  The basic idea is that a bunch of people show up at someone's house to play drinking games.  In this case, it involved drinking very colourful drinks in small glasses and the rapid consumption of jello shooters without the use of your hands.

The party itself was pretty fun.  I got a chance to meet some new people (of the fairer sex for that matter, that's always a plus). In particular I met this girl (who will remain nameles to protect the guilty parties) who's a med student at the University of Ottawa and an avid snowboarder.  You have to mack med students on general principal (because of the non-zero possiibility that they will become doctors) and avid snowboarder is a bonus, so I decided to strike up a conversation.  Well through various threads of discourse, I discovered that she wants to specialise in orthopeodic surgery.   "Bam!"  I think to myself, have I got a story for her.  Having recently been on the receiving end of some orthopeodic surgery (I have titanium screws in my shoulder), I figured we had yet another thing in common...but wait....here's where the fun begins.

Somehow the conversation steered to the subject of one of my best friend's first born's christening.  At this religions event, one of my buddies and myself were assigned the task of video taping and photographing the event, and having known he was an atheist since grade 4, the requisite religion jokes were being made.  Well at some point during the story (which I won't explain here, it's a bit beyond the scope), one of my buddies looks over at this girl and she has this look of shock or disgust on her face.  I start thinking to myself, "If she gets really offended about that story, I have some others that will more than likely disgust her thouroughly".  That's where the awesomeness factor comes in.  Instead of trying to save my ass in this situation, we play it up even more.  Needless to say, I doubt that this girl was very impressed by me by the end of the night.  I won't lose too much sleep over it though.  The way I look at it, if that's all it took to turn her off, we were far from being compatible.  It just goes to show you, it takes more than superficial common interests to make things work (I figured this blog needed a moral...otherwise it would be completely pointless).  Besides, I don't need to deal with prudish attitudes frankly, I'll just keep drinking my Kokanee and making my own fun...god bless the awesomeness factor.

Keep shreddin' the GNAR!

New Pics Up...nothin' too special but check 'em out:)

So ANOTHER Dashboard song, but what can I say...I like them...alot.

--SO IMPOSSIBLE
--Dashboard Confessional

So she says
"Everyone's going to the party,
won't you come if I come
with a friend for your friend?
I'd be so pleased to see you
out of the classroom wearing the smile that I'll bring you.
I was hoping to learn a few things like..
Do you do you like dishing the dirt
on the whole class &
talking the big smack &
playing the fool &
wearing all of the latest fashions
or bucking the new trends
wearing your old threads.
If you like taking a cup of coffee in the evening.
These are a few things that I'd like to know
that I'd like to know"

So I said...

"I've been scheduled to work but I'll call in
and my friend isn't busy
he'd be happy to join me
and maybe my friend
and your friend
will hit it off or maybe we will?"

I'm dying to know
do you do you like dreaming of things
so impossible
or only the practical
or ever the wild or waiting through all your bad bad days
just to end them with
someone you care about
and do you like making out
and long drives and brown eyes

and guys that just
don't quite fit in
yeah do you like them
So yes, I'll see you there.

i want to be rich. but dont we all? i don't want to be fancy rich though. just the kind where i can travel more, go to school without having to worry about finances, etc. i guess, it can best be expressed by saying, rich enough that i dont need to worry about working so much to pay the bills.

today, i came up with a plan for this endeavor. (if someone steals this idea, i know who you are cause i can always see who is looking at my profile.) i am going to invent better band-aids. band-aids are just not adequate enough.

my relationship with band-aids is special. why? you might ask. well, because my love of crafts, projects and home-improvement tasks over-rides my coordination and ability to not injure myself in some way. i think this is partly due to impatience. one time, i was changing out drill bits on my drill. someone (cade) lost the key that locks and unlocks the bit. so, i was taking the drill bit off, and opps, note to self: always unplug the drill when changing the bit out. the cut slice went all the way up my thumb in this very interesting wavy manner. i almost threw up.

yesterday, i was framing some black and white photos. black frames with white mats (which show every piece of dust in the place or, in my case, the colorful wool threads from my favorite pottery barn rug). after recutting the mat and putting together the entire frame, i turned it over to check my fabulous work. and voila! there it was, a red thread stuck in between the glass and the mat at the top. damnit. so i proceed to only take the frame apart half-way and pull the thread out. suddenly, i notice the weird orange-red liquid. i stop. sh*t, i sliced my thumb on the glass. damnit. i run to the bathroom for a band-aid.

throughout the evening, the band-aid proves to be just not absorbant enough. it also gets wet when i am cleaning. and cleaning products are not a pleasant sensation on an open cut. even band-aid brand is not good enough for the likes of a zoki project and her insessant obsessive-compulsive need to clean.

so the point of all of this is that the horrible pain of the cleaning products and the fact that i have needed six band-aids since yesterday at 5 PM (it is now 8:30 AM) leads me to believe that i am not alone in my pain and frustration.

we need better band-aids. and i am going to be the one to do it.
