Yeahh so yesterdayy kinda sucked for me lol...woke up me and my boy Timmy Piz went to The Bagel Smith for some food and to see our freidn Tara..Then chilled at his crib. SO then he had to go to work so i was forced to stay at home lock in my house.And then it started... I came to find out i lost my phone and I thought i left it in timmy's car..but i didnt cause when he came to Matty's after worked i checked and it wasn't in there...The i found out my grandmother got sent to the hospital cause somethign happened to her heart again...Ughh It wasn't a horrible day liek all day just my night pretty much sucked cause i didnt have a phone and shi*t lol.. so yeah im done venting.. ill probabley do this again tomorrow lol..

I've reached a point in my life where im askin for advice more than i ever have before and frankly more than i ever thought i would..I've never been the type to give up on nething i know i can get and im worried that soon im goin to have to admit that for the first time that it means nething i failed and im not sure what im supposed to do about it or what i can do even..I'm in love with a great girl and i dont know where to even begin how to describe how she makes me feel and it doesnt matter how im feeling at that moment if i even see her name in my contacts on my cell phone i smile and i melt when i hear her voice...i know we are in love and im lookin forward to spending the rest of my life with her by my side..i just moved further away from my parents than ive ever lived i lost my dad when i was 9 yrs old and i just lived with my mom untill like a month ago i had a place that was mine but i moved back in when she had trouble with the bills but i always helped pay the bills and she treated me like i was an equal but yet still her baby boy so i could do anything i wanted and she didnt care the basement was all mine i paid for half of everything...i might have to admit i couldnt make it mentally and move back close to home and thats the last thing i want to do cuz that means i lose the one thing that means the most to me in my life rite now and that is Tara..these next few days will either be the best or worst days of my life......if u read this and you have nething at all you would like to say feel free to speak your opinion i want advice as to what you yourself would do if you were in my shoes....

ショータ日本へ。Shota is leaving for Japan.

今朝ついにショータ&タローさんも日本へ向け出発してしまいました。
続々とみんなカナダから離れていって寂しい時期になってますよ。。。

ショータは今年初めてモービルにチャレンジ。
初めの頃は全然乗れてなかったけど、シーズン最後にはかなり乗りこなしてジャンプ狂になっちゃいました。（笑）
慣れないバックカントリーでの撮影も楽しい事、大変だった事いろいろあったな〜。
久しぶりの日本でリフレッシュしてね！
This morning, Shota and Taro left for Japan.
Everybody is leaving Canada and it makes me sad...
This season, Shota had his first experience with snowmobiling.
When he started riding his sled, he wasn’t good at all but at the end of
the season he became jump crazy. :)
We got so many things done in the unfamiliar back country.
I hope Shota will enjoy and be relaxed in Japan.

ハート型。Heart shaped...

この前、久しぶりにスノーモービル行ってきた時にテントウ虫を発見しました。

『こんな山の上にいるんだなぁー』なんてよ〜く見てみると…
何と背中の模様がハート形！？
何かheartつながりでちょっと嬉しかったな〜！

I saw some ladybugs when I went snowmobiling last time.
I was surprised to see that ladybugs live up in the mountain too. So I looked
closely...
You know what? There were some heart shaped prints on their back?!
I felt a heart connection with the ladybug and that made me happy.
This was my first time to see ladybugs. They must have emerged from
hibernation.

カナダに来て初めて発見。暖かくなって出て来たのかな？
The snow is melting on the lake in hot weather.

暑さで湖の雪も融けてきてます。
There are many wild plants called “Taranome” (Aralia elata). It is the head of the Devil's Club plant.
Deep-fried Taranome is sooooo tasty!

雪がないところで山菜『たらの芽』もいっぱい。天ぷらでいただくとGOOD！

The dead tree looked like an octopus sitting on a rock.

岩の上にちょこんと立っていたタコみたいな枯れ木。

山に上がるまでの途中の雪がなくて険しかったけど、ほのぼのしてて楽しかったです。
でも残念ながら今シーズンのモービルは最後かも…
ちょっとさみしいなぁ〜

Most of the snow has melted so the road was steep but we still could have
some fun.

It’s really a pity that it would be the last time for snowmobiling this
season...

Party♪

どもです！ケイジです。
6日は自分の誕生日会を開いてもらいました！
しかもコウスケも7日に帰ってしまうのでみんなでワイワイ飲んでます。
おいしい料理、いい時間をつくってくれたみんなありがとう！

Everybody held a birthday party for me on 6th!
The party was also for Kosuke who is leaving for Japan tomorrow.
Everybody gathered and drank too much.
Thank you everybody for the nice food and great time!

パーティーの途中、近くのゴミ置き場にでっかい熊がいると聞いたのでみんなで見に行ってきました。コウスケの小刻みダッシュかなり速かったな〜。（笑）
『こっちにいるよ〜！』と教えてもらって行ってみると、民家の庭に今まで見た中でとびきりデカい熊を発見！
In the middle of the party, we heard that a big bear was near the house so
we went to see him. Kosuke’s dash was so fast! :)
We heard someone say “It’s this way!” and found the huge bear in our
neighbor’s yard! We were watching the bear from some distance and then a police came with a gun!
His face was serious and we felt the intimidation.

離れたところから見ていると警官が登場。何と手元にはショットガン。
顔はマジだし、威圧感あったな〜。
誕生日にいいもの見れたかも…？
I am lucky to see such a rare
incident on my birthday?

5日はショータの誕生日でした！

ついに20歳かぁ〜、日本でお祝いしてもらったかな？
おめでとうショータ！
June 5th was Shota’s birthday! He became 20!

どもでーす！フィルマーのケイジです。
昨日タダシがやっと帰ってきたと思ったら、いきなり日本に向けて旅立ってしまいました。なんて忙しい人なんでしょうか…

最近のカナダはず〜っと雨。

例年と比べてかなり晴れが少ないスね。しかも寒い。。。

最近は編集も始まっているので家から出ない日もあります。

となりでエディターのノブ君はプリングルスをもりもり食べてます。
夕飯だそうです。（笑）

近日中にheartTVで、フォトグラファーのdice-k maruさん vs zizo君のケンタッキー対決をUPします！
勝敗はかなりシンプル。フライドチキンをどれだけ食べれるか？！
よい子は真似しないように！おいしく食べましょう。

Hello, it’s Keiji-filmer.

Yesterday Tadashi came back from his trip to Hawaii and Las Vegas and today he left for Japan to do some Burton and Redbull stuff.

What a busy guy!

Lately, we are having so much rain in Whistler.

It’s unusually cold and not very sunny for this time of year.

We have started to edit our film so some times I don’t leave the house all day.

Nobu is eating Pringles like a bear. Pringles is his dinner today.

In a few days on heartTV, the KFC face off between Dice-K
Maru (photographer) and Zizo (photographer) will be shown!

The rule is very simple. Who can eat the most Kentucky Fried Chicken...

We Do Not recommend attempting this...You should just enjoy KFC!

Hello, it’s Koni!

Today, we introduce one of the silent forces of heatfilms - KEIJI TAJIMA!!!

He is a really hard worker. See?

ケイジはもともとカナダでスノーモービルやったるでー！と友達３人で乗り込んで来た元ライダーなんですねー。なもんでタマにカメラバッグを降ろしてフリーランする時なんかノリノリでイケイケ。いつも自分の体よりでっかいバッグ背負って滑ってるからストレスたまってるんでしょうねー。
いつのまにか忠専属フィルマーになって16mmまで扱える様になって、ホントに成長したもんだ。。なんてワイが出会ったのはつい最近なんやけどね。エラそうな事言いました。
ケイジの事もっといっぱい書きたいけどもう書けません。おやすみー。

Originally Keiji was a rider and stormed into Canada to do some snowmobiling
with his friends.

When he snowboards without his camera bag, he is really excited
and has so much fun.

I believe that carrying that big, heavy, camera bag (it’s
even bigger than Keiji himself) is much more stressful work than we could
imagine.

He became Tadashi’s filmer since...I don’t know when, but now he can
even use a 16mm camera!

He has grown up...Even though, I got to know him only recently though ...haha.

I would like to write about Keiji more and more but I should stop here.

and then to his famous Helmet hair...which he came and rode the Blackcomb park without a real helmet...
これは、要ヘルメットのパークを滑る時の対策として発案した、ヘルメットヘアー。

そして、ついにモヒカン！！

And then he end up with his shaved hair for this season. (Whistler in the back
ground).

シーズン終了と言う事で、ウィスラーをバックに丸坊主。

東京タワーの旅 Tokyo Tower

きのうお台場でBURTNのミーティングがあったんですよ！
なかなかいいミーティングで良かった〜。やっぱり意見を聞いたり言ったりするのは、大切だな〜ってね！！！
んで今日の朝、ショータが東京タワーに行きたいって言い出してよ〜し行くか〜って事に。いい運動になって良かったですよ〜。
帰りぎわに食ったそばもうまかった〜。けっこう今日は、汗だくでした。

There was a BURTON meeting at Odaiba, Tokyo!

It was such a productive meeting!

I was reminded that it’s important to listen to everybody’s opinions and also to express my opinions!

This morning, Shota suggested to go to the Tokyo Tower and we all went there.

It was really good exercise.

The Soba (buckwheat noodle) which we ate on our way home was so tasty.

I was super sweaty all day but enjoyed myself! Japan is HOT!!!

Good afternoon.
Well, good evening actually.

We just started editing and I’m living in a world where day and night are
reversed...It’s Nobu - the editor.
Most of the footage has gone through the editing process and I am thankful for all the riders.
All I can do to finish everyone's great efforts is by creating the best film ever!!!
I’m feeling a good kind of pressure on me and I will do my best!

We heard those unfamiliar sounds around 4 am...

Meanwhile Nobu and Keiji were editing in another room and began to feel a bit of apprehension...

With their heart beating and a mop in hand they headed toward the sounds...

２本足なんかで立っちゃってキュートです。

でもベランダに置いてあった缶ビールを散らかし、金属の網戸に穴をあけていく悪いヤツ！

アライグマじゃなくて熊だったら確実に２人は終わってたかな！？

But he messed up our beer cans on our balcony and broke a metal wire

たまには…Once in a while...

どもです！ケイジです。

たまに家から出ないとマズいんで、今日は忠とフォトグラファーのZIZO君と一緒にスケートしてきました！

駐車場の中にあるので雨の心配なくて調子いいです。

忠はお気に入りの新しいデッキで楽しそうに滑ってました。

いい汗かけて気持ちよかった〜。

この時期はスノーボードはもちろん、スケート、マウンテンバイク、クライミングなどなど体を動かす遊びが盛りだくさん。
天気がもう少しスカッと晴れたら最高なのにな〜！

Hello this is Keiji.
We should leave the house once in a while so today I went skateboarding with Tadashi and Zizo.
The skateboard park is underground in a parking lot in Creekside so it’s nice that we don’t need to worry about the weather.
Tadashi looked happy to skateboard on his favorite new deck.
We had a good time and worked up a sweat.

This time of the year, we can have fun snowboarding, skateboarding,
mountain biking, rock-climbing and more.
It’s so nice and even nicer if we could have little more sunshine.

最近コットンツリーから飛びまくっている綿。空に舞ってる時は雪みたいです。

So, the world turns and the days go by. Apparently it's been 4 years of university wich means one more snowboard season has come to an end and I'm off to enjoy fall (thats right not spring) in another country south of the equator as part of my final courses. I will be in the north of Chile in an region called tarapaca. We will be doing tourism development work in four cities, pica, cancosa, camina, and mamina. This area is basically one of the driest places on earth and ranges in altitude from 5000 feet above sea level to about 14000 feet above sea level (for a reference the highest lift accessed elevation at whistler is only 7160 feet). After that I will spend an extra week and a bit in the southern region called araucania (wich is the same weather as B.C. just opposite seasons) doing some extra work for another community. So this is my seasonal hell yah and a information post for those wondering what happened to Justin. See you next winter!

Action Sport/Lifestyle Competition Features World’s Best Shooters in Showdown for $10,000 Purse

Whistler is gearing up for a clash of the titans, when five of the world’s best lifestyle and action sports photographers compete in the tenth annual Pro Photographer Showdown at the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, April 18 2007.

The five selected photographers will be flown to Whistler for a gala presentation on April 18, 2007, lured by the bright lights of the Festival, the industry’s preeminent celebration of action and lifestyle photography and a $10,000 prize purse.

At the Pro Photographer Showdown, the most dynamic moments in action sports are captured and mounted, trophy-style, for an appreciative 2000-strong crowd in a series of self-curated 9 minute multimedia presentations.

The “Best of Show” designation conferred at the renowned photography expose will see the winner join an alumni that includes Kevin Zacher, Eric Berger and Aaron Chang, who will judge the Showdown alongside Whistler’s “King of Light” Paul Morrison, and long-time host of the Pro Photographer Search, writer and creative mastermind Leslie Anthony.

Throughout its ten year history, the Pro Photographer Showdown has featured stunning photography from renowned surf photographers Aaron Chang, Jason Childs, Jeff Divine and Warren Bolster; skateboard gurus J. Grant Brittain and Jon Humphries; acclaimed mountain bike photographer Sterling Lorence; ski & snowboard legends Kevin Zacher, Eric Berger, Paul Morrison, Blake Jorgenson, Mark Gallup, Scott Markewitz, Dave Heath, Vianney Tisseau and Mattias Fredriksson, among others.

The five finalists are:

Peter Taras – San Clemente based Taras comes by his boho-creative blood legitimately. His grandfather was a revolutionist photographer who fought the reds and was hung by Stalin. Having worked as Photo Editor for Transworld Surf Magazine since he was 24 means Taras spends more time in the editing suite than out shooting, and his brain is full of shot-lists still to be captured.

Endre Løvaas – This 36 year old Norwegian says he has no plans to quit his day job as Marketing Manager and Senior Photographer at Fri Flyt, Norway’s biggest ski and snowboard mag to focus solely on photography. He’s shot with Matchstick Productions and produced images that have been published all over the world.

Nick Hamilton– He’s got the mongrel accent of a half Finnish, half British, half American guy, with multiple seasons in the French Alps under his belt. Currently photo editor at TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine, the 29 year old shutter-veteran edited British snowboard mag White Lines before moving to Cardiff, SoCal to take up his current role. There, he earned TransWord a Henry R Luce Cover of the Year special citation. And still can’t surf worth a damn.

Jeff Curtes – Boulder-based Curtes is the Principal Photographer for Burton Snowboards, and has been tripping around the world shooting for Burton since his big break in 1994. He has a degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a single credit in photojournalism from the Agricultural Journalism department and a stash of childhood memories of snowboarding with his brother Joe in the backwoods of the Wisconsin countryside.

Jody Morris – He spent a 10 year stint as senior photographer for Transworld Skateboarding magazine, and has freelanced for almost every major skateboard magazine in the world, as well as Men’s Fitness, Transworld Snowboarding and shooting a host of skateboarding's most iconic and influential ad campaigns, such as DC Shoes, Etnies, Adio Footwear, Quicksilver, Nixon, World Industries, Dakine, and Tony Hawk Inc.

CREATIVE STAKES GET HIGHER AS 72 HOUR FILMMAKER SHOWDOWN OFFERS $2000 CASH PURSE IN ADDITION TO PRIZE HAUL

Registration underway for TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival’s film-making sprint.

Film-making becomes an athletic endeavour at Whistler’s annual 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown. The competition, an integral part of the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival’s line-up, challenges artists to perform feats of speed, endurance and precision, with the call to shoot, edit and produce a 3-5 minute digital film set within a 100km radius of Whistler in the space of 72 hours.

The 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown traditionally spawns a concentrated burst of creative energy in Whistler. The Muses descend en masse, as 100 filmmaking teams are loosed on the resort and are given free range to blow the budget, burn the midnight oil and storm the house to meet a deadline.

The Gala screening of finalists is the hottest ticket in town, packing the 2000 seat Conference Centre. Even the unsanctioned Second Cuts screenings sell out. Previous winners have also received significant exposure, including screenings for the Directors Guild of Canada, at the 2003 Squaw Valley Film Festival, and the 2003 World of Comedy International Film Festival in Toronto. Winners from the 5 previous years of the competition can be viewed at www.whistler2007.com.

The winner of the 2007 Best in Show award will pick up $15,000 in prizes including a $2000 cash purse.

The call for participants is now underway, open to anyone who loves to make films - amateurs and professionals, teams or individuals. Teams from California, Montreal, Vancouver and Whistler have already lodged early submissions. Festival Production Coordinator Lilli Clark says, “The profile of 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown is growing, and it’s earning a reputation globally as a quality film-making event, with professionals and industry-insiders from across the country lining up to take part.”

The exposure for the film-makers is more than just to a packed house at the Gala screening, but will put their work before an A-list panel of reviewers and judges from within the Canadian film industry.

Industry luminaries including Leo nominated writer and director Tara Hungerford; the film, TV and theatre producer who is also behind the monthly Celluloid Social Club, Paul Armstrong; Anthony Vitale from WhiteOut Films and Zaib Shaikh of Little Mosque on the Prairie fame will sit on the review panel to choose the finalists.

Due to the popularity of the Filmmaker Showdown, advance registration is highly recommended. Entries may still be accepted, but not guaranteed, at a meeting required for all participants at the TELUS Conference Centre on Friday April 14 at 9am in Whistler. The deadline for guaranteed entry is April 3rd. The competition begins following the meeting at 10am. so the girls and i are our here in aspen, colorado for winter x 11...pretty exciting. for some veterns like tara it's the usual x games but for myself it's my first one and i'm acting like a total 12 year old, not to mention a total tourist...yes i do own a fanny pack and yes i do say sorry pronouced with an 'o' and washroom...what's it to you? anyways, the course looks pretty good, kinda hard to get speed, a lot of tucking is going on, but besides that it's good times. this morning is qualifiers so wish us all luck please. also wish priscilla levac and mary sallah a swift recovery as pris fractured her ankle and mary possibly blew out her knee.

in other news, the women's halfpipe finals were last night and i bet you all wish you had of been here. the girls were killing it and pushing things to the next level, which meant a lot of girls went down in their first runs. for most they got it together for their second. elena hight pulled a sick bs 900 indy to back to a front 5 melon and then finishing things off with a huge fs 720 JAPAN! sooo sick, go little e! gretchen beiler's first run landed her in first place with a huge fs 900, crippler seven and back to back 5's. however it was torah bright's 2nd run that earned her x games gold! torah pulled out a huge air to fakie tail grab first hit into a cab 720, then a giant mctwist into a backside 3 and a switch backside 5 at the end of her run! the aussi's were going crazy! good work torah! you killed it and we're all so stoked for you! hannah teter landed in fourth spot, just missing the podium with emanula pesko in the fifth spot. good work to all the ladies and best of luck to all the girls who compete in slope today...go kill it!

What time is it? 7:48am... god I feel like shi*t

We were warned last night to go home by the forces that be, but we kept drinking anyways... my ankle really hurts this morning..

Ok so not an exciting night by any means
No real reason to go out drinking, but we drank. I drank... which was probably a bad call, but we were in a good mood.

We arrived at Brystal's place and start the night. Everything is perfect, great friends, good talks, good music, Family Guy was on TV, and an energy in the air that we all thrived on.
We left the house with beers in hand
We go to Garfs and Bylaw was out, We tried to hide our beers but they saw right through us and made us throw them out. And with that they gave us two two hundred dollar tickets for drinking in public. RIIIGHT!
Out of six of us, two of us were given tickets: myself and Tara? (I can't remember the girl's name) The bylaw cop gave me a stern talking to, I appologized & he thanked me for being so understanding of my stupidity. HAHAHA!

Ok now were walking to Tommy's laughing at how we have to pay these stupid tickets. We get to the door and the bouncer doesn't believe that MollyFli's ID is ligit. He makes us sit at the doot when he looks up her ID in the big book of ID's. She has the old Alberta ID...GOOD GRIEF!

We finally get in

I'm not entirely sure I had a drink in my hand all night cause I had no money. Pre-game coverd all the drinking I needed to do. I had a good buzz.

I remembered why I love girls so much. HAHA! Girls are so much fun make out with. I have yet to meet a guy who can kiss like a girl can. don't get my wrong I love boys, MMMM I really love boys. But boys can't kiss. HAHA! So this girl dragged me to the bathroom to make out. We made out for a bit, and I had to stop it. That was going to lead to places I didn't want to go. STUPID GIRLS! HAHAHAHA!

I LOVE DANCING! I love dancing to dirty beats. YAh dnb and dirty breaks. When all you can do is swivle your hips, the bass moves you. I love every second of moments where your in the world of dancing! Just loose yourself in the moment, the room is you and the DJ, nothing else exists. The beat takes you to heaven.
Ok enough from me... the night ends

Were walking home, and I notice some random jackass smashing property to one of my works. there were six or eight of them. I turn arround I run and when I reach the guy I push him and then punch him telling him to f*ck off and have some god damm respect. Krista pulled me back, Brent saw the guy about to punch me and jumped in. we were having a small rumble, one girl grabbed me by the neck and I finally freed myself and she looked me and said "dood I'm not trying to fight you but pull you off" I chilled out. We all stopped for a minute, calming down thinking we were done. My rage was still there. The guy jumped on Brent again, we all jump in on the guy because the rest of us had calmed down. I grab Brent and pull him into the wall with me. Krista pushes us ... We find Jeff and Chrystal who were lost with one of their buddies who I had been smoking weed with. HAHA!
Now, I'm not prone to fighting. I think its stupid. But I think I need to figure out what this rage I have in me is and what its all about. I was so mad that this person had no respect for Whistler and for someone's work. I was protecting my work. Granted I probably could've approached it totally differently and didn't have to start a fight with a bunch of people, but my alcohol said otherwise. I ran on my ankle. I totally should not have ran on it.
