Day 1
I was pretty nervous when I left home and took a flight to Vancouver BC. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to snowboard as good as the others, but when I went, you're organized into groups depending on your level. It was silly of me to worry, but when i did go, the campers were pretty chill so it didn't even matter anyways. Well anyways, when I landed in Vancouver, I met so many people at the airport going to Whistler Summer Snowboard Camp. When we all boarded the camp bus/shuttle I met even MORE people. During the evening, we were to meet at the mountain room (a huge room with a big screen tv). There we were introduced to all the coaches and info about the camp, like camp rules, schedual, and activites. When i got to my room, there I met my 2 roomates! They were the same level as me at snowboarding and same age too! They were also in my group which was cool. I made friends really quick.

Day 2-6

The park is siiiiiiiick. They have their own terrain on Blackcomb Mountain, with jumps, rails, boxes, and a tent that you can just chill at if you're tired or hungry. The weather felt like it was 20 degrees, it was so hot! I think that's really cool, the weather being really warm and being able to snowboard. I know what you're thinking, but no! The snow isn't all slush! There's plenty of snow and the groomers of their camp groom it everyday so it's all good. I got a pretty sick goggle tan.

Activites

Out of all the activites, I've got to say that bungee jumping was my favourite! You're there with all your friends going bungee jumping! There's other activities like wakeboarding, paintball, mountain biking, driving range/miniputt, skateboarding, indoor rockclimbing, games room/movie lounge, pool/hot tub at the hotel, tennis/volleyball/dodgeball, or just chilling at Whistler Village!

Overall, this was the highlight of my summer!

Just watched this movie past weekend, and now our teacher is making us watch it. On 10 this movie deserves a 5 or 6. The only parts that were funny were, either in the previews or not worth the 4$. It was just too silly, there was no plot and too much swearing, I'm not a guy who doesn't swear but adding the Syllable 'f*ck' to any word DOES NOT MAKE IT FUNNY. Movie got too serious at the end too.
I'd rather work in class than watch this movie again. Oh well, at least I get to screw around before the bell, and since we're watching a movie everything changed place so I just keep dragging a girl on a chair around class.

So its Halloween night, and me and my bro Marc are heading up 2 Fairview to go party with our bud Brandon who's doing his Power Engineering at the NAIT campus there. As we where told by our invitee, we need costumes, I was going as Ron Burgundy from Anchorman, Marc was a lumberjack. Brandon was Jail-bait. LoL! SO we get to the On-campus town-house brandon is staying in with his roomies, and the party is in full swing! Brandon is already down a 26 and awesomely drunk. So me and Marc get into character and we head 2 the bar, and easy 10 minute walk from Brandons. So we get 2 the bar and start partying. Me a brandon hit a shot set-up of Tequila and Fire-ball, Brandon walks 2 the bathroom, pukes, and continues 2 party, what a trooper! So the party keeps going till closing time. And all three of us, $100 bucks each poorer and really drunk/danced out. Tried 2 make our way home. (This is where it gets super fuzzy. We three peiced the rest of the night together with what we could remember, and this is what we got.) So we start walking... we get 2 the campus, somewhere in the agriculture area. All of a suppen Marc wants 2 fight due to some guy back home who was say shi*t about his girlfriend. (Chris Gullet, nobody likes this guy. I even want 2 kick his ass.) So brandon says 2 him, that he'll fight him. So they hop some fences and start fighting by the riding sable and cattle pens. Me not seeing this go on or where they went, keep walking and yelling for the 2 of them wondering where the hell they are. So I yell and stumble till I hit a slight incline, and me being drunk fell right into a ditch, face first, full of water. So I am soaking wet, I get out but in the process I lose a shoe. I don't care I just keep on walking till all of a sudden a vehicle comes from behind. Its campus security! The lady inside askes "Are you ok?" I say. "Not Really" She says, "Wanna lift?" and I say, "Yes Please" I get in the back and b4 I know it. I'm right in front of the town house and I didn't even know how 2 get there! lol! SO I go inside and pass out on the coach. Mean while back 2 Marc and Brandon. They're fighting like crazy drunks. Till they stop. Marc it still pist and is kicking and punching shi*t. Meanwhile brandon takes off home ready for bed, losing a shoe also somewhere along the way. Marc is now alone, and is also lost. He calls brandons cell, doesn't pick-up. He calls my cell but I fell in the ditch thus f*cking my phone right up 2 the point that it doesn't work. So he calls his girlfriend in falher which is so worried that she wants 2 drive an hour and a half in the early morning 2 come and find him. LoL! He told her not 2 be silly. and he said he'd find his way eventually. So he gets to the town houses, goes in, up the stairs, opens the door to what he thought was Brandon's room. But he notices that the guy sleeping in Brandons room is not Brandon. Further more its not brandon's room. Its not even his townhouse! Marc went into the wrong house! Than he notices that there is a dog, and it starts barking so Marc gets out of the townhouse without the guy waking up! Lucky! And eventually finds his way 2 the right place. With me on the couch and marc in Brandons bed. Brandon decides 2 sleep on the arm chair. I wake up for a moment to see him in a U shape, from arm to arm. Awesome! But when awake in the morning he is laid out on the kitchen floor. Than I notice under my blanket, I am buck naked! I don't even remember taking them off! So we relive our night laugh about it. Than head out 2 KFC, than watch some women's volley-ball and than go looking for our lost items. The only thing 2 turn up is Marc's Rome Lumberjack Toque. But what an awesome drunk time. Well worth the hundred bucks, the lost shoe, and the broken cell phone. Good times with good friends is never a bad thing, no matter what kind of trouble you get into! LoL!

My Blog: Me
By: JaredMG

I wonder what enlightened individual can answer the question of who they are. I cannot.
Stroke by stroke I paint this picture of myself, or is it a revelation of self?, throughout all these years of life. Most days I wander about dazed or lately... quietly amusingly lost.
I look at all these connections spinning out ahead of me into the future and... it doesn't seem right in a way. So I wander around life looking at people a little too hard, searching for those few whom who'll complete me, whom I'll help complete.
Here I am writing a blog that no one may ever read yet one special person may. It's that prospect of the latter which tickles me funny. I think it's silly of me to write here, nonetheless all I can do is write here and shake my head at myself while I sip hot chocolate.

Breaking News: Rep. Barney Frank and NORML Team Up on Federal Decriminalization Legislation
Posted by Ron Fisher to Legalize It - The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws March 24 10:39pm

US Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) has announced that he will shortly introduce legislation in Congress to strip the federal government of its authority to arrest responsible cannabis consumers. Representative Frank made the announcement Friday on the nationally syndicated television show, "Real Time With Bill Maher."

heres a link:
http://blog.norml.org/2008/03/24/norml-partners-with-rep-barney-frank-d-ma-to-introduce-federal-decriminalization-legislation/

“It's time for the politicians to catch up with the public on this [issue],” Frank said. "The notion that you lock people up for smoking marijuana is pretty silly."

Frank's pending bill seeks to eliminate all federal penalties prohibiting the personal use and possession of up to 100 grams (3 1/2 ounces) of marijuana. Under this measure, adults who consume cannabis would no longer face arrest, prison, or even the threat of a civil fine. The bill also eliminates all penalties prohibiting the not-for-profit transfers of up to one ounce of pot.

NORML Legal Counsel Keith Stroup, who worked closely with Frank's staff to draft this legislation, said, "If passed by Congress, this legislation would legalize the possession, use, and non-profit transfer of marijuana by adults for the first time since 1937." The bill incorporates the basic recommendation of the National Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse (also known as the Shafer Commission).

Currently, 12 states have enacted various versions of marijuana decriminalization, eliminating criminal penalties for minor pot violations. Passage of these laws has not led to increased marijuana use.

In fact, the only U.S. government study ever commissioned to assess whether the enforcement of strict legal penalties positively impacts marijuana use found, "Overall, the preponderance of the evidence which we have gathered and examined points to the conclusion that decriminalization has had virtually no effect either on the marijuana use or on related attitudes and beliefs about marijuana use among American young people."

Similar statewide legislation is pending in New Hampshire and Vermont. Additionally, Massachusetts voters will decide on a statewide decriminalization measure this November.

According to a nationwide CNN/Time Magazine poll, more than three-quarters of American adults favor decriminalizing marijuana.

Alerts will be posted to this page and www.norml.org once this bill is assigned a bill # and committee so that folks can contact their representative urging support of this bill.

For more information, please contact Keith Stroup, NORML Legal Counsel, at (202) 483-5500.

It blows my mind that Christian groups in the United States are boycotting "The Golden Compass."  If their beliefs are as strong as they believe them to be then surely they can take a little questioning.
Here is a great read from Mark Moford regarding this issue.
-----

It has become a rule, some sort of law of the popular culture upon which any open-minded human worth her soul can rely with utter and perfect clarity.

It goes like this: If there is a piece of art, a TV show, a column, a book, a movie, a blog, a movement, a wine bottle or sexual position that somehow deeply threatens the various ultraconservative sects of Christian-blasted America to the point where their pale, dour representatives demand boycotts and distribute angry pamphlets to try to stop people from experiencing said hunk of culture because of how negatively it portrays their seething, condemnatory God, well, it's time to break out the Champagne. Or buy that book. Or get very, very naked. Or all of the above.

So it is with the first movie made from Philip Pullman's astonishing "His Dark Materials" trilogy, "The Golden Compass," a complex, mystically gorgeous, spiritually dense, big-budget fantasy epic so far removed from the cute wizardry of Harry Potter and the thin, childish, monochromatic Christian morality of, say, "The Chronicles of Narnia," that it might as well be a Coen brothers movie. On acid.

Oh my God yes - they are protesting. They are pamphleting. From the Catholic League and Focus on the Family to evangelical/fundamentalist Christian blogs from here to Colorado Springs, they are calling on their trembling armies to boycott the film because they believe that Pullman's brilliant books - which, by the way, if I had the power, I would place in the eager hands of every youngish human on the planet, especially the girls - are not only aggressively anti-Christian, but that they also describe, as their grand finale, nothing less than the death of God. This is what they say.

And here is the terrific thing: They are absolutely right.

But let's be a bit more specific, shall we? Because as any fan of "HDM" knows, it ain't really about God, per se. Pullman's luminous novels have nothing to do with rejecting faith or destroying the spirit or inhibiting the exploration of what it means to be divine. They are, in fact, the exact opposite. They relish spirit and the magic of belief and love, are soaked through with divine inspiration of a kind any intelligent Christian (or honest spiritual seeker of any stripe, for that matter) should crave. This is what makes them so incredible.

The nefarious thing the books aim to kill is religious authority. It's about the destruction of dogma. It's about power, about who wants to control and manipulate life on Earth, about the blind, ignorant, even violent adherence to insidiously narrow codes of thought, belief, behavior, sex, desire and love.

This, of course, is the God of organized religion. This is the false deity that promotes numb groupthink, inhibits growth and abhors the feminine divine (perhaps the books' most beautiful, inspiring theme), the same paranoid, dreadful God that votes for George W. Bush because he will smite the icky gays and protect us from vile pagans and Buddhists and Muslims and feminists and frumpy genius atheist British writers. If humanity is to flourish, to get over its addiction to war and guilt and fear, this is the false God that should - that must - die.

Although the books have as their evil antagonist a sinister cabal called the Magisterium (obvious parallel: Catholic Church), they also have a slew of dark characters in service of the Magisterium, various assassins, double agents and robot drones running around trying to annihilate the children's spirit, destroy magic and lock down faith forever. Let us call these robotic drones, oh, say, the Catholic League. Or Focus on the Family. Gosh, no wonder they're a little peeved.

But it's almost too easy, is it not? Even a child can see that these people are so far from true spirit, so far from open consciousness, it's a bit like comparing a lint ball to a cloud bank, a dung beetle to a flower bed. They are spiritual caricatures, the creepy clowns in organized religion's gloomy circus, all scrunched brows and gnarled hands and so much repressed sexuality that it would make a porn star wince. Really, why give their silly protests any attention at all?

For one thing, because these groups have proven that they can be highly dangerous, utterly toxic to the culture as a whole. You already know the list - FCC crackdowns, stem cell research, ultraconservative judges, abstinence education, anti-choice laws, vicious homophobia, intelligent design, the rejection of science - all of which aim for the creation of a fascist theocracy in America.

In fact, director Chris Weitz, who adapted "The Golden Compass" for the screen, reportedly removed any direct mentions of God or religion from the film version, fearing, along with New Line Cinema, some sort of Christian conservative backlash. Fans were, appropriately, outraged. It remains to be seen how much of those vital themes Weitz left intact, but you could argue that the Bible-thumpers have already taken their sad toll.

(But I do look forward to the bloodcurdling screams that will surely come from these groups when they see the third film, which, if the creators hold at all true to the original book, and presuming the movie gets made at all, features a pair of wonderful, immensely powerful, tragic gay angels.)

It might not matter. With any luck, and if "The Golden Compass" turns out to be even half as wondrous as the book, it will hopefully fuel a surge in sales of the "HDM" trilogy in America and, perhaps, inspire a new literary awakening among young readers, darker and more complex and even (gasp) slightly sexual, far beyond the clever but innocuous magic of Harry Potter - which, by the way, had its share of religious bonk-jobs calling for its destruction, as wizardry is clearly the dominion of the devil. We all know what a huge drop in sales that protest caused.

But there is another note of good news from this tale of fear and whining and outcry, and it takes the form of another delightful rule upon which your soul can happily rely, as well as a heartfelt lesson for trembling ultraconservative sects everywhere.

It's this: If your ancient, authoritarian, immutable belief system is threatened by a handful of popular novels, if your ostensibly all-powerful, unyielding creed is rendered meek and defenseless when faced with the story of a fiery, rebellious young girl who effortlessly rejects your stiff misogynistic religiosity in favor of adventure, love, sex, the ability to discover and define her soul on her own terms, well, it might be time for you to roll it all up and shut it all down and crawl back home, and let the divine breathe and move and dance as she sees fit. Don't you agree?

M: What did you eat for breaky?
B: Scrambled eggs, left over mashed potatoes, ham, toast with jam, 4 cups of coffee, chocolate muffin, and a banana.

M: Wow, That’s a pretty bad ass breakfast, do you eat like that everyday?
B:I wish, but I wasn’t working today, so I put the time and effort into a big breakfast/ lunch.

M: Lets talk about the past for a minute.
B: How far back are we going here?

M: Lets start with the first time you rode a snowboard.
B: Winnipeg Manitoba when I was probably about 11, It was a black snow bindingless shred with a rope and a handle, snurfer style. It was down a river bank.

M: Did you stomp?
B: Heck ya.

M: When did you get on a waxed board, and where did you learn to ride?
B: The following winter I got my first real shred, and spent the next two years building mini jibs and jumps on the riverbank with Mitch. Then my family moved to Penticton BC when I was 14.

M: So I take it you threw down at Apex for a couple years before moving to Whistler?
B: That was the home mountain; I got to know all the hit runs.

M: When did you decide that Whistler was going to be the place to hang your shred stick?
B: haha, My buddy Mitch and I decided that we’d be living in Whis when we were still shredding the riverbank. I think I was in grade 6, checking out a Snowboard Canada mag when we decided to make the move. I moved to Whistler with him in the summer of 2005.

M: I suppose that the riding has been going quite well for you since then, describe one of your most memorable days for us.
B: Hmmm, that one is tough, I have had so many good days of riding living here in Whis, last season I bagged over 230 days on the shred It’s hard to pick just one out. I guess any day riding in sled country with the crew.

M: Who would you call up on any given day?
B: Tristan Jeswiet, Shayne Zwickle, Mitch Gillespie, Karen Burt, or any of the Voleurz boys. I guess it depends what I feel like shredding that day.

M: So when did you get a sled, and how did that affect your riding?
B: I got a sled when I moved here in ’05. Sledding has definitely broadened the spectrum of my riding, and has gotten me out of the park and into riding natural features more. I love the challenge. It’s a lot more difficult then I thought it would be…

M: The backcountry has a lot to offer, so what usually runs through your mind when you venture into new zones and assess the terrain?
B: Always keeping my head up, I’m paranoid when it comes to avvy’s, I am also looking for anything that could be fun or different to shred. I like riding things that aren’t generally ridden, silly tree gaps and jibs.

M: Have you had any close calls?
B: With avvy’s? I’ve seen avalanche debris with ice blocks the size of the average car, and I’ve let small ones go, ridden slough and such. I try to be pretty careful… knock on wood.

M: What has the summer shredding been like for you this year? I understand that Camp of Champs had a pretty bad-ass park this year, did you have a favorite line?
B: Camp of Champs was amazing!!! Best I’ve ever seen it up there, they added a new lane this year with 2 decent sized tables in a row. I had a lot of fun riding that line. But the entire set up is good, and always well maintained.

M: Last year you had an endless winter by hitting up Snowpark in NZ, what was that like?
B: New Zealand was amazing, and Snowpark is one of the most fun places I’ve ridden, it’s really small but they do a good job. The scene down there is super relaxed, everyone is having fun, and I met a lot of great people. I can’t wait to go back one day!

M: So with no endless winter for you this year, what’s going on with you for the rest of the summer?
B: Skateboard, work some construction to save up as much money as possible for next winter and maybe head down to Hood at some point.

M: Life can be hard hey?
B: It’s always tough…

M: Who has been good to you this year?
B: Billabong, Atomic, Electric, Freerideboardshop.com, The Voleurz Family, and Karens Mom for taking care of me when I was injured

Braden has a full part in the up and coming Voleurz video ‘More for the Astronauts’, which is set to debut this fall. The crew will be touring across Canada to share the love in October and November. Stay tune to voleurz.com for more details.

A few days ago, a classmate of mine commented on how I was not like a girl. He said I don't shop like most girls do, and I don't wear capris, short shorts, and miniskirts like other girls do. *scratches head* I can't help but think that was kinda shallow...

I admit it, I'm not like most girls...But tell me, how many girls lounge around their house in skirts? Ha, I do, and I'm proud of it  Besides, skirts are so comfortable to wear

And no, I don't shop a lot...mostly because I'm just not interested in keeping up with the latest fashions...Also because I can find better uses for money than shopping...I don't mind that I don't shop a alot...I could come up with a bazzilion outfits with the stacked up clothes in my closet...lol. Believe it or not, one of my friends even consider me to have a good fashion sense...(no, I am NOT making fun of you for saying it...thank you for the compliment btw...) Of course, every now and then you'll see me wearing an article of clothing that happens to be "in"...Oh well...Sometimes I just try stuff out for the sake of it...especially with clothes...And no, I am not absolutely anti-shopping...I still shop, just not as much as most people do... ... ... This is based on the stereotypical amount of time girls spend shopping, so it may or may not apply to you (girls)...

And I do wear miniskirts...only once though...lol. Well, I usually skorts when I play tennis...too hot for pants during summer...Then the reason I wasn't wearing capris yet was because my mom stored them somewhere and she's still digging them up and trying to remember where she put some of the other ones. And I just don't wear short shorts, except when it's really hot a t home, soz...

That sounded like a desperate attempt to redeem myself, and it was also very silly. I agree...I had no other interesting news, so...cya

I've realized that I've never wanted to be anyone else as a person. I do, however, have always wanted to have a different family. It makes me sad when I think about it, but my life sucks. period.

This morning, there was a planned fight between "a group of black students and a group of white students" (quoting our assistant principal). This was the umpteenth fight we've had this month, so the teachers were getting concerned. So today we were pulled out of class and the adults had a "little talk" with us. Actually, I don't really get fighting...so I don't have much to say. What's the point of fighting, really? Does it make you feel better once you beat the crap out of someone who made fun of your hair, or something? *sigh* Well, hopefully the reasons people fight aren't THAT shallow, but still...I don't really get the point. I also don't get why all the adults are freaking out about it. I mean, if some people want to be violent, why stop them? They'll probably finish it somewhere else anyway. This is kinda selfish of me, but I don't really care if a couple people want to fight each other, as long as they leave everyone else out of it. Of course, if they involve my friends somehow, I WILL get concerned.

Then I messed up the math test...*sigh* I got a 92%...*sniff* That sound really stupid, right? Silly me, crying over a B+, pathetic...I'm trying to keep my grades afloat, and this will probably make my grade fall back to a B+ (or even worse!), instead of my current grade (A-).

Okay, done with the shallow part.

What really ruined my day were my family. *deep sigh* I doubt that I will ever meet a group of people so adept at making me miserable. Why can't I have a life that's uneventful? I never asked for all this in my life! And how come the accusations are always pointed towards me?! I am so sick of it all! They need to get off my back...I might seem like a really reliable and stable person (which I usually am...), but they're just forcing way too much on me.

How the hell is it my fault that my mom can't keep an eye on the stove? My brother is getting bad grades and they decide to ban RuneScape for BOTH of us. WTF?!?!?!?! Why is it my frickin' fault that my brotehr can't focus?! Huh?! I play RuneScape and my grades are still generally A's. Why the hell are they punishing both of us for his fault?! I am so God-damn sick of all this responsibility put on me!!! I set the table, cook dinner, prepare snacks, wash the dishes, do my homework, study, help out in the house, etc, etc. What more could you ask for from a daughter?! I do my best to try to keep up with everyone's expectations but I just can't do it, OKAY?!

I am so sick of having to do things because no one else will put in the effort to do it themselves. And for the things I wear myself out doing, I never get rewarded for...not even a "thank you" from any of them. I am just so sick of everything right now...

I'm sorry if I let any of you down these next few weeks but I'm not feeling very well at the moment...I need help dealing with all this insanity...So if you've got the time, please pass by and give an encouraging word, or something...*I hate feeling so alone...*

P.S. I was so ticked off at everything that my eyes started tearing up when I was writing...ahaha...*wipes tear away*

11:07

Since were banned from RuneScape "permanently", I have no idea how I'm gonna kill time this weekend...*sigh* This really sucks...Well, they'll probably let us play again after a while, but still...I don't know how long I can hold out...Any suggestions on what I should do this weekend?

Today we had the presidents pretest. I took the harder version, as I did know all the names by memory...I think I got them all right, but who knows...

When I got to school, I started freaking out because I thought we would have to do the mile today...ugh...and I can't run...I can SPRING, but no long-distance running for me...I just can't do it :P

Luckily, only Ms. Wever's class was doing it today so I was spared for one more day...so here I am now, dreading the fact that it's almost tomorrow...and that in 8 hours i'll be running...

So we have to do 3 laps in 8 and a half minutes...at my best, it took me 2 mins and 40 seconds to do one lap...and that's when I was RUNNING already...so I'm estimating that it would take me 3-3.5 mins to powerwalk it...not bad. Well, whatever. I'll try to get under 10 minutes just for the sake of it...although who knows whether i'll make it or not...RAWR.

Who here likes cake? *looks around to see if anyone raises their hand*

... That sounded completely random...but baking is one of the things that I enjoy doing (not that I don't enjoy other things as well, but baking is special...)And I made my first ever white-cake (no, i'm not racist! lol) tonight...sounds silly, but it's true. I've mainly avoided white cake cuz it doesn't look as good as yellow and chocolate cake when cooked. But I ran out of yellow cake mix, so I had to use the white mix...

Normally, I only bake late in the afternoon, but I had to do it today because SOMEHOW, a whole bunch of eggs from the grocery store broke (well, cracked...) and we had to use em up fast. I used 3 of them and my mom turned the rest into a giant omelette...So now I'm going to have omelette and cake for breakfast...GREAT... (I mean, they're both good, but only when eaten SEPARATELY...)

Oh, and I messed up my geometry test... ... ... *sniff* That was so dumb, it's not even funny...I would've gotten a frickin' perfect score if I had copied the problem down right...Ugh!

Cuz Ms. Moon forgot to insert the figure into the test, she had to put it up on the board. I thought I had copied it down right...apparently not. I miscopied ONE measurement and threw the rest of my calculation off...and that was -4... doesn't sound like much, but because it's only out of 38, every point counts...I'm so mad! Now I can only get a max of 95% when I could've gotten an easy A+ for once...Grr...

Well, I'm gonna go now...I need my "beauty sleep", you know...Not really...I don't go to sleep until past 12...Anyway, I'll go to sleep by 12 tonight just so i'm relaxed for the mile...

Buenas noches...wish me luck (now more than ever!), por favor y muchas gracias

NOTE: This may not be entirely accurate because, unfortunately, iPods do not display the lyrics of songs...alos because this is not in english...hehe, it's in my "native tongue", Tagalog.

Kapag nagiisat kasama ang gitara
Bastat dumarating and kanta
Awiting maari ring kung may kasama
Tamgul mo ay butas na lata
Sabayan nang sipol ang bawat pasada
Huminga nang malalim at sabay ang buga
Kapag buo na't handa ang lahat
Sabay sabay and pasok sa bagsak nang paa

Heto na, heto na, heto na hah hah
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo-ahh

Mahirap gumawa nang kantang makata
Makulay na tugtugin at pananalita
At kapunapuna na para nang buhala
Mga boses na nagpapababa
At meron din namang nagpapaboses bata
Matataas ang tono at hiningay mahaba
Binubulong sa hangin ang bawat salita
Kapagnaririnig mo ay nakakatuwa

Heto na, heto na, heto na hah hah
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo-ahh

Hindi naman kailangan boses moy maganda
Bastat may kaunting tonong mataling na kanta
Kung medyong sintonado ay hayaan mo na
Ang nais lang nang tao ay ang kaunting saya
Ihanda and tropa at tangol na lata
Kaskasin mo nang mabuti ang dalang gitara
Kapag buo 'nat at nana ang lahat
Huminga ka nang malalim at narito na

Heto na, heto na, heto na hah hah
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo-ahh

Heto na, heto na, heto na hah hah
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo-ahh

Bidoo bidoo-eeh bidoo bidoo
Bidoo bidoo-eeh bidoo bidoo
Bidoo bidoo-ehh bidoo bidoo bidoo-ahh

Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo
Doo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo bidoo-ahh (repeats as song fades)

if you get a translation to this, you are amazing... :D Good luck to those brave enough to try ;)

Hey all, and welcome to another edition of the Daily Barns.  This past weekend was the Snowboard.com "Screw Mother Nature, We're Getting shi*ttered" meet at Blue Mountain in Collingwood Ontario and let me tell you, after this meet we might want to be thanking mother nature rather than telling her to sod off (on account of the complete lack of visible sod anywhere unlike we expected when this meet was originally planned).  This was the first meet for me personally where I got to shred the gnar with my fellow ECers and it was a great weekend of progression, laughs, pretzels, skanky girls (not in our crew), riding without lift passes and poaching freshies.

The road trip started for me when I picked up the rest of the Ottawa crew who were riding the Bangbus to Blue (No one is really sure how it came to be known as the Bangbus, but this became its official name).  Once Chris (AddictiveEscape), Jeremy (Mr. King), Brianna (atomicsnowqueen), myself, food, booze and snowboarding gear were loaded into the bus, it was time to face the white out conditions on the long drive to Blue.

The drive took about 7 hours total (including a stop at Wendy's to steal trays for beerbogganing and a few pee breaks).  Upon our arrival in Collingwood, it took us a while to find the right chalet, "Chef" (crasiestwy) came through for us, he arrived just minutes after we did and immediately knew where to go so he let us in.  Once we were settled, the craziness began with a jump building party.  Most of the night was spent in the parking lot in front of the chalet drinking beer and doing acid drops (the snowboarding kind, not the small paper square kind) from the second floor balcony.  We developed a bit of a fan base including the skanky girls from the chalet next door; they saw us building the landing and asked us if we were planning on jumping from the balcony.  We call them skanky girls because with a little more convincing, they probably would have taken their clothes off to watch us do acid drops; however no one from our chalet seemed particularly interested in that.  Within an hour, most of the neighbourhood was outside their chalets watching the show with iPods blasting from car stereos and crazy shred dogs doing their crazy thing, it was a good night.

Once we got tired of jumping, we re-appropriated some DVD cables from one of the other chalets (our chalet had a DVD player without cables for some reason), and proceeded to chill out watching shred videos and eating pretzels.  Chris eventually passed out on the couch so the pretzels then became projectiles to try to wake him up.  The floor was littered with pretzels, so the next morning while walking around in the living room area, the floor seemed a little crunchier than usual.  The phrase "f**king pretzels" was uttered on a number of occasions.

Saturday was a day of riding.  In hopes of not having to buy lift tickets, we parked the cars at the top of Blue and rode down from there.  The conditions were great, I suffered from toe drag on the first run however (this is what happens when you angulate too aggressively) and did at least one complete flip, dragged my backside, got up and rode it out to hoots, hollers and laughs from the rest of the crew.  There was much progression on this day too, by the end of it we had the rookies cutting lines in the trees, dropping cliffs and trying terrain park features.  All this without buying a single lift pass and there were nine of us riding together that day, this feat still amazes me (thank you to lax standard liftie operating procedures).  Once we were done riding for the day, it was time to head back and plan the festivities for the night.  This included more front yard jibs, a bangbus jib (videos coming soon hopefully) and even more progression as the rookies all successfully executed trash can bonks.  As was the case the previous night, our adoring fan club was there to watch the show and drink their trashy asses silly.

The final day started a little later than the previous.  We were all pretty tired and sore for the previous day's riding.  There was still one thing left to do however; ride down the Orchard.  Since it had been snowing on and off all weekend, and nobody rides the Orchard on account of there not being any lift access, we decided that we would go poach some freshies on Sunday morning.  This required some pentagon planning and military like precision.  The plan was to park one car at the bottom of the Orchard, pile everyone else into the other two cars to shuttle them up.  After the run, the drivers of the other two cars would be shuttled up in the car that was left behind to come pick up the rest of the crew.  So off we went, Carrie (Cazza21) parked her car in the P1a lot, and she jumped in the Bangbus for the drive up the mountain.  We parked on a dead end street, skated back to the mountain road, then stealthily snuck into the forest.  Once out of eye sight of the road, we started hearing the distinctive sounds of snowmobiles.  Thinking it was the Blue Mountain Gestapo, we hid in the trees hoping they wouldn't notice our tracks.  Once we were confident that we hadn't been pinched, the hike to the orchard began.  It was totally worth the effort, we arrived at the top to untracked runs; freshies are so beautiful.  Sean (powjunkie) took the lead followed by Jeremy, Chris, then the girls followed by Adam.  I was bringing up the rear to make sure everyone made it down since at least half our party had never ridden fresh powder before.  I'll tell you, there's nothing quite like riding fresh untracked snow.  Even if it's in Ontario and it's on top of a thin layer of surface melt; it's a total Zen experience.  After getting my fill of nose presses and spraying the trees on turns, we gathered up at P1a and decided that we should end on a high note.  We packed up our gear and made our way out of Blue Mountain to finally take our separate ways home.

This was easily the best Snowboard.com meet I've ever been on which gives me high hopes for Telus this coming April.  A special thanks to the entire crew for being the super chill individuals that they are and making the weekend as fun as it was.  Here are a few things to remember from this weekend:

  • It IS possible to ride for free even with a large group of riders.

  • Skanky trailer trash girls are willing to take their clothes off to see people do seemingly life threatening stunts; just take inventory and make sure that you actually WANT them to do this before you make the suggestion however, it sometimes sounds like a better idea than it actually is.

  • If you don't have cables to watch DVDs in your chalet, "borrow" them from another chalet.  On a related note, I am still in possession of said cables, I'm willing to make a trade; show me what you got.

  • I think all the ice cubes I've flushed down the toilet have finally started paying off.  I think mother nature loves us now (at least until this weekend, +8 degrees, aye fawk off).

Anyway, I hope it won't be long before I get the chance to shred with this group again, amongst the finest in the East Coast.  I know Carrie is going to Telus and I'm counting down the days until then.  So  until next time, keep your browsers plugged into YouTube, you must might see us jumping off balconies (those skanky girls promised).  Until next time...

Keep Shreddin' the GNAR!

So here we are back at Big White for another round.  It was great to go to Snowshoe Sam's last night and actually remember being there.  It was even better to see all of my adopted team after suffering four long days of painful seperation anxiety .  My boys Cale and Pat even walked me home last night, which was greatly appreciated after what happened to me here the last time... lots of love to a couple of fine young gentlemen .

Looks like we might even have some visibility today, which would almost be a first for me here.  I'm looking forward to riding today, and catching up with Anna who I haven't seen in ages, and being ready to slay it tomorrow.

Oh ya.  And we coined a new name for freestylers (credit to Cale) "spinnies" or the long version "skinny pygmy spinnies".  No offense to our "spinnies brothers and sisters, but pull your pants up, you look silly.
