We went skateboarding to Pemberton yesterday.
Pemberton is just 30min. north of Whistler by car and it’s a town richly
endowed with nature.
There are farms, ranches and golf courses so my impression of Pemberton is
like “an easygoing town.”

初めはローカルの子供達がいっぱいいたけど、すぐに帰ってしまったのでパークは貸し切り状態。
There were many local kids but after a while they all went home so it was
like our own private park.

From Taka...

I joined the CAMP OF CHAMPIONS of Canada from the end of June to the beginning of July.
This time I practiced a lot of kickers and rails rather than the usual half pipes that I ride...
I had fun times and was blessed with good weather.

After this I’m heading to Mt. Hood!
I haven’t practice half pipe for a while but I can hang tough at Mt.
Hood because I learned something at the COC camp...I hope?

Hello, it’s Keiji.
Tadashi and I hit the skateboard park a little bit.
I felt my body tense up because of the concrete ground, so I didn’t try any tricks but I could still have fun just riding my skateboard.

The Life and Times of Joe: Moving day
By: joe

So it's come the time to move, I'm not moving far, just to a new house in Whistler. I think it's going to be pretty fun, it's closer to the village, and has a great view of Blackcomb. I am a little sad to leave my current place, the roomates are great, and we had tons of awesome times. I think I'm just leaving because the opportunity came up and I've been feeling like I need a bit of a change in my life lately. But with that said... I really hate moving.

I dunno why, there must be something about packing that just sucks. Sure there's the excitement of moving into a new place, and that's why unpacking isn't so bad, but the actual packing I'm terrible at, I procastinate soo much. Heck, I should have been done by last friday, but I would only do a bit at a time then go play Guitar Hero 2 for hours on end (as it's the best game EVER).

Anyway, time to go move, I'll talk to you all soon.

Hey Crew
Just thought you'd all be happy to know I am now the new sales guy and east coast team recruitment dude for folklore skateboards from West Oz.
I'm still working for all the other companies but the majority of my time will now be spent seeing Red X & Folklore customers...
Check out our stuff at www.folklore.com.au its nice to be working for an Australian icon...
Went to the V Music Festival on the weekend it was heaps of fun and i was stoked to see the pixies live show after listening to them for so many years.
The girls in the Red Bull tent looked after us as usual and it was cool running into crew i haven't seen for years who came out of the wood work to see the Pixies.
Oh well back to work this week on a full on basis which will hopefully lead to moving to a new house this month.
Don't forget Heresy Snowboards for all your custom board needs and clothing for chillin this upcoming season.
Hope your all well and looking forward to a smokin Southern Hemisphere Winter...
Cheers
Leigh

Man whats been going on my world...

well im in a new pad now, its a sweet wee pad with wooden floors (easy for cleaning, this has been proved time and time again with numerous parties and binge drinking)
theres 4 of us, 3 girls, 1 dude, a cat and a bird.  the bird says f*ck. and also yum yum at the most appropriate times.

ooo one of our parties the other day, was a thursday night.
tequila thursday.
and we had quite a few people wishing to participate in this tradition (usually only three of us!) and it got a bit crazy.

let me put it this way, in the first week of living in the new house, we got noise control called to our house three times.

so this time, much worse, the police, and about the use of a "vase" at our pad, we all denied it but then the cops shined the torch on the coffee table outside and a bong and a lung was there and they got confiscated.
not too big a deal though cause there was no weed anyway cause it was gone but scary shi*t anyway.

f*ck i hate those neighbours that keep calling shi*t on us!

i had a good night though, caused a bit of damage.  frozen veges were spilled ont he floor, along with glass, and my mate took off his top and body slid along the kitchen floor on the veges AND glass.

ummm yeah.... we're crazy on the booze aye. crazy.

whoa....

its here.
just crept up out of no where.
just like that.

dodgy dodgy dodgy.

new year was the balls too by the way

i'll have photos at some stage that ill post.  they're good, it was a good time.
i didnt have a shower 4 like 3 days.  no one did. and we danced and had a crazy time, and hardly slept.

went to a place called arthurs pass afterwards, its all green bushy forests and walking tracks.
we got blazed most of the time there, although on one of the nights we got on the gas.  that was after a day of hiking and chowing down on ice creams.
man i had an awesome holiday.

now im a bum. but i move into my new house on sunday.  its a large 4 bedroom place with a massive backyard suitable for bbq's, and boozing.

i see real potential there.

Why do I hate the midwest? Oh yeah, that's right! Maybe because the weather doesn't follow normal seasons like it's supposed to! It's JANUARY! By now we at least usually have some icey B.S. to ruin our new Christmas presents on. But no. None.
It's Fifty degrees and overcast everyday. It's like pepetual November. For those of you located somewhere more prone to normal seasonal weather, November in Michigan S.U.C.K.S. There's absolutely nothing to do. You can't snowboard because there is no snow. You can't hit the beach in Holland because it's too cold. You can surf, if you enjoy wearing 9 Mill wetsuits or a drysuit, and then turning blue. You can't even go traying (stealing fastfood trays and hiking the hills, parkinglots, or schools at 3 am). Oh it rains, A LOT! If all this rain had been snow, we'd of had an insane winter for Michigan.
I got accepted into University of Colorado at Boulder a couple weeks ago, and I'm about to drive out there now. This weather is frickin' ridiculous.
Maybe Al Gore and his Tree Hugging buddies have a point with all this Global Warming crap they're always screaming about.
My cousin drove up from Bonita Springs, Florida to have a white Christmas. Poor kid. I bet he's never seen so much mud. He's spent his whole vacation drywalling his bedroom in his new house. He's like 12.
I know you all love hearing me bitch about the lack of snow, but I've got footie to edit, then I'm going to go dream of some snow.

Love. Later.
     -Breeze

halla!
I said... HALLA!
i wonder why anyone still says that. Its like one of those joke things. You say it and laugh.. ah-ha ha!
Anywhoooo!
18 days till shredding. well thats what they say anyways, novemeber 11th. 11/11, i think thats wierd. On the other hand, its also f*cking great! This has been the longest f*cking summer ever. I know I know its fall. But it hasnt been very fally. Which is fine by moi. Im glad its over, and im glad its almost CHRISTMASSSSSSS!!! Yes boys and girls thats right, only like 2 months till christmas eve. Wierd how one month can make you forget how long one year has been. made a bunch of cash, had some party time, bought some sweet ass jeans, went to whistler, saw some cool stuff up there. Went to van to see the sasquatch weve come to know as titty. f*ck did I ever get messed up. wholy moley! Van is a nice place to visit, but i think thats it. I kinda dont want to stay here, but in canadia where would I go thats any better? A big city, right next to the mountains, with the sweet smell of cow doody? What a complex odor that can make sometimes. haha.
I cant believe Im writing a bllllog. well more blogs.
Boredom will make you do strange things. Freshtival was kinda lame, movies were meh, no on snow stuff. being negative about it is something I shouldnt be doing. I coulda made it better. Puddles did win boots, I did get a free shirt, and mike douglas's autograph. If one person being absent changes everything, then maybe I need to find new persons. pretty easy said. Kinda easy done too. New people show up all the time. f*ck, whatever, its almost Christmas. So theres no time for moping. Soon it will be tree time, soon it will be present time. Then it will be get Gnarly time. SOunds pretty rad to me. Know what else is rad? New houses. Thats my BDay present to myself. March uno, unpacking in a new crib. Most likely some smelly appartment. itll problee be little, itll problee have chocolate water, but it will be mine. Id take that over anything right now, well Id take that second. Ya, a distant second. Combine the two maybe?
Ya word! How sick would that be?
Iw onder what kinda place i could get. Im gonna save like whoah! Its gonna be an empty ass place for a second, but its my empty ass place and if you wanna talk some shi*t, its your ass!
Ski soon.
snow sooner.
Smile soonest.

Ouch!

a note to my loyal readers: it's a long one today. i've got nothing better to do right now than sit here and write, so if you want the down and dirty, you'll have to actually read! important news of the day: i have two part time real jobs! with regular hours and regular pay! details at the bottom. and now, story time!

so over the past few weeks i've been spending most of my time near water, salty or otherwise, and with some of sb.com's finest. moselle, mike, and of course eryn, who doesn't fit with the m's, but is fine nonetheless. and i mean that in a purely platonic way of course. i've spent far too much time in a bikini (didn't have time to change yesterday and wound up wearing it to work under my clothes... how professional!) but at least i have a decent tan to show for it, which is much improved on my pasty-ass-ed-ness of late. mmm ass. but i digress.

so. sooke potholes with mo. how much trouble can two girls cause in the middle of the wilderness anyways?! far too much. we didn't meet a bear, but we did meet a divorced father of two who clearly thought we were lesbians with an open mind to including a lonely old man while his sons fished happily away. the potholes are beautiful, and we got in some good exploring, swimming, and psuedo-rock climbing. the water was... well... freezing. good thing i don't have balls or they'd still be somewhere around the vicinity of my nipples. it was an awesome time, just getting out camping for a change. the sound of a river is so soothing at night. i couldn't have asked for a better camping partner, either!

after our little holiday, we came back to victoria to celebrate some friends' birthdays by going out and getting drunk. yes, me. drunk. that half beer really finished me off! a couple old friends of mine also came out, so i was super happy to see them. they're living down in boston now, so i don't get to see them nearly as much as i'd like. i used up all my change throwing it down eryn's cleavage, and then spent the next few days wondering why i had no change to buy things with... we gave our friend a birthday gift of a tiny little girl's bike that eryn had found in the ditch. good times all around.

and then, after a few days of work, i had mike out here to show him the ropes of being a good summertime BC citizen. i also took him to the potholes, where we played jane of the jungle on the tire swing and tried not to hit any children in the head with rocks. the next day we took my little sister amanda (and a bag of trail mix fortified with extra chocolate) to sidney spit, a little island full of sand off the coast of sidney (bc, not australia). we had a sandcastle building competition where everyone got prizes: i had the best landscaping, mike's was prettiest, and amanda's was most durable (that thing could've withstood terrorist attacks). mike and amanda also dug gigantic holes and threatened to bury me in them. luckliy for me, the tide came in and filled up the holes. we finished the day with a big water fight (damn but the ocean's cold!) and then spent what seemed like an eternity waiting for the ferry to arrive.

saturday it was off to visit the parents (and eryn) and get a rundown on the boat. that night was the last fireworks of the season, so we took some snacks, my mum, eryn, and her friend kevin down to the beach to watch them. it was a good show, and good company, even if i didn't understand all the movie quoting that was going on in the male contingency of the party.

sunday was the day i became captain. oh, the power. i could've keelhauled mike for insubordination if i'd been so inclined... lucky for him we'd just had the bottom done and there were no barnacles on the underside of our boat, and so, keelhauling lost its appeal. my parents own a 25 foot C&C sailboat named Cirrus, and they were generous enough to let us borrow her for the weekend (actually, my mum was downright ecstatic that Cirrus was finally getting some use). so early sunday morning we cast off from the dock and motored three hours to portland island. i would've liked to have sailed a bit, but it was dead calm for pretty much the entire weekend. the main anchorage is tortoise bay, so named because it is protected by the tortoise islets. or perhaps the islets were named after the bay, i don't know. all i know is, it's a beautiful little spot and i'd expected it to be incredibly busy on the labour day long weekend, especially with such gorgeous weather. to my surprise, it was almost deserted, only another dozen or so boats in the bay.

we anchored on the first try (some other fancier boats took as many as three tries to anchor! go us!) and set about exploring the island. and explore we did. after a quick dip in the ocean (quick because it was so bloody cold!) on my part, and a foot dabbling on mike's, we decided, foolishly as we were to find out, to take the path to the right. it was all fine and dandy until the path petered out. but we could hear (and see) some people ahead of us, crashing away through the undergrowth, so we decided to follow them, because, obviously, they knew where they were going. well. after getting a little sidetracked, we found that we'd lost our questionable guides (along with mike's sunglasses), and were now somewhere in the middle of the island without so much as a deer track to follow. i think they were actually wood sprites who would have led us to our death if they hadn't realised what an incredible dork i am and thought better of adding my soul to their ranks. we decided to push on, and eventually we would meet up with either the shoreline trail or the mid island trail. that was the idea anyways. the undergrowth was full of unseen brambles, and neither one of us were dressed properly for bushwhacking. i was wearing only my (still wet) bikini and flipflops that have seen better days. not ideal. but we survived, and an hour and a half later ended up back on the shoreline trail in a spot that would've taken us about ten minutes to get to if we'd chosen the left fork.

one of the keys to good boating is good (junk) food. so i was pretty happy to get back to the boat and all my delicious chocolate i had waiting for me. hello, my name is kendra, and i have a problem. i'm addicted to chocolate. and cherry blasters.

monday was labour day, and a lot of the boats in the anchorage left while we were walking around the island. we managed not to get ourselves lost this time, and brought enough snacks to feed amanda's kid's klub. during our lunch break we had a nice parks canada girl come up and survey us. they are thinking of introducing a $7.00/person/day fee for all of their parks, just to use the trails. now, i'm all for keeping our parks beautiful. but. $7 just to hike some trails? and no discount for locals? they already charge for parking, usually between $3 and $5. it starts to add up in a hurry. so much for keeping our children active... i know if i had to pay every time i wanted to hike i wouldn't be hiking nearly as much. i don't have a lot of money to throw around on fitness; if i did i'd have gym memberships and gear for every sport out there. and i'm way off track again.

anyways. we walked all the way around the island without getting lost! the only bad part was me being too short to get over a log, misjudging how far i had to lift my leg, and opening up a big gash on my shin. mmm yummy. it looks pretty nasty. after dinner we went back ashore and raided the apple trees. portland island used to have a farm on it, and lots of sheep (we had a problem with kiwis so the sheep have been moved to a high security farm with kiwi repellant fences) and an orchard. so mike climbed the trees and shook the branches while i danced around underneath and tried not to get hit in the head by falling apples. of course, i was useful and tried to catch any good apples that mike might throw at me, only, i became rather wary of him after he tossed one while i wasn't ready and it bounced off my chin.

yesterday morning bright and early we weighed anchor, and, after cleaning all the seaweed off it, headed back to my parents place. it was my first time docking the boat, and i have to say, i did a damn good job of it! backed her in beautifully, mum was there to hand me the lines, and Cirrus was back safe and sound. had time for a quick lunch and a chat with mum, then it was off to work for me. which brings me to my good news...

WORK

i am now a permanent part time employee at vancouver island autistic homes society! the house i have been working at had no positions available, so i applied at one of the other houses within the agency, and ended up getting the job. it's weekend work, 8-4 saturday and sunday, and i'm going in for training at the new house today. i get full benefits and am now at the top of the call list, meaning if a shift comes up at either of the houses i'm trained for i'll be one of the first to know. so yay! more hours, regular time... what could be better?

oh yeah, another job! i've decided to once again sell my soul and work for the BC provincial government, this time in refunds. at least i'll be making people happy instead of angry. it's part time work for two months, so i think i'll be able to handle it. 4 hours a night, 5-9 shift, and supposedly i'll get shift premium, meaning i'll get to make proper money. i get stat days off too, so that will be nice.

the only thing is, i'll be working 7 days a week. and during awkward hours which won't let me see a lot of amanda. she's back in school so we won't have entire days to spend at the beach. but i figure a couple hours a week is still better than no hours... eh well. hopefully i won't go crazy!

to those of you who read this whole thing... wow. i applaud you. shirts... i mean hats... off to you! hope everyone else has been having as much summer fun as i have!

My Journal: Friends

I have been thinking about friends lately.  A lot.  About friendship and what drives it.  I suspect this is due to some major changes in my life - new job in a new city.  A new house.  And some changes in the lives of my friends.

So why are we friends with another person?  Shared experiences?  Shared ideas or ideals?  Shared interests?

Once somebody told me that people who were your friends were people that you needed in your life at that particular time.  Implied in that statement is the thought that once you no longer 'need' them, they stop being your friends.  To some degree, I have experienced this - you have friends - but circumstances change and you find that you have drifted away from them.  ANd they from you.  Maybe it was mutual need.

This does not account for people who become your friends for life.  What makes them so different than all the others?

I am very thankful for the friends that I have in my life.  Most of them are long time friends, only a few are relatively new.  Either way, I think that my life is better for having them in it.

As for the other questions?  I dunno.  But if I find out I'll let you know.

My Journal: move
By: Chandizle

My weekend was RADish!

Friday hung out at the house and had a last night in the hot tub with Brystal.
Saturday I went to work. As I was leaving work I had a chat with one of my most favourite people. Then as I was walking out of the Carleton lodge I ran into some old friends. It was lovely seeing them as per usual.
That night, Krista, Jeff, Brent, Chrystal, Alyssa and I got together and got smashed together. We ended up in the gondie puff puff puffing away.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAHA! so much fun.

Sunday I got ready to move into my new house. As I was getting my stuff out of my shed, I fell and sprained my ankle. It was swollen like a tenis ball.  SOOO BAD. I tried crying but the tears just wouldn't come out.
HAHA!

Monday, I moved. Brystal, Jeff and I got it done in about three loads. Perfect. Katharine and Shelley from my work stopped by to bring me flowers. AWWW! I love my friends. I really do.

YEsterday I decided since my ankle was purple and the size of a golf ball I should go see te doctor. Some xrays later determine that I've severely sprained my ankle and I am not allowed to go snowboarding, hiking or running. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH~
I'm only allowed to go biking or swinning.
Sigh!

Oh well.

I'm glad to be in my new place
I want to paint it soon
Not sure what colours though.

:D

My Journal: jealousy
By: ScrapPaper

an english assignment... "Descrbie your bedroom." Plain and simple...except that we were supposed to have a certain "style" when writing...so i'm not sure what kinda steez i got goin on here...but i thought i'd share :)

so without further ado...My Room

Now entering suburbia: logical, flourishing, and white. A simple black sign confesses that this area is JACKIE; at night the six large letters glow under the light of a star, strategically placed over the J. On the opposite wall books stand between two ship-shaped bookends, proud, like a row of new houses. Around the room there are a few empty plots, and then more books. A built-in desk is just under the window, which gets the evening light, and is a permanent temporary landfill. Yearbooks, old written pieces, useless keepsakes and birthday gifts clutter the zone, waiting to be tossed out or picked up by someone else. Various items of clothing shield the desk chair from any potential use, and more clothes usually lie on the floor protecting dust and lint from the evils of a vacuum cleaner. The bed sits as a house whose owner started construction but ran out of funds, blankets thrown across it in a sad attempt to make it presentable. An alarm clock waits within arm’s reach, ready to attack in the morning. Inspirational quotes and posters hang on every wall; pictures of friends, ticket stubs, and posters litter the door - the graffiti of an exit sign.

This week, I want to tell of a story about being lost, and finding one's way; more specifically, finding one's way without stopping to ask for directions.  This often seems to be a source of contention between men and women.  Men seem not to like stopping, at a gas station for example, to ask for directions as though this were a afront to their manhood.  This story however, serves as an indication that we actually know what were doing (no matter how juvenile).

On Easter weekend, I found myself in my home town of North Bay; a small northern Ontario town, the former home of an airforce base that now makes its way as a tourist draw (you know, hunting, fishing, nature...that sort of thing).  As North Bay is my home town, I have a lot of family residing there; and on Saturday, we were invited to my cousin's new house in Ferris (one of the burroughs of North Bay).  Great! No problem! My folks and my siblings will just load up into the car and head over after dinner.  My mom took down the directions for good measure.

Through some bizarre logistical circumstance however, we had to take two cars to get to the restaurant for dinner (Burger World in case you were wondering).  My sister met us there in my mom's car and the rest of us in my dad's.  After dinner, when planning out the car pooling arrangements, my mom decided to jump in with my sister, directions in hand, while the boys (my brother, my dad and myself) jumped in the other car.  As we were pulling out of the parking lot, my dad says "Ok, who has the directions...", "Mom does" I replied.  "Ok, I know it's in Ferris" says my dad, "What's the address".  "Beats me" I say.  "Ok, what's the street name then?".  "I don't know but I think it starts with an 'M'" says my brother.  Great, no directions, address and only sketchy details of the street name...at least we know it's in Ferris.  At this point, the easy thing to do would be to call my mom on her cell and ask her to relay the requisite information to us, but what would be the fun in that.  So our quest begins.

not_in_ferris.jpg

After driving around Ferris for about five minutes, my brother pipes up and says "Hey! This is the street where Amy lives!" (remember the bringer of rockets and good conversation? See "Sleemsn's Cream Ale Will Give You Gonohrrea" for more details).  "Ok, let's turn down this street" says my dad.  As we drive down Amy's street we cross another named "Mariah".  My brother exclaims "Hey, I think that's their street!" (they being my cousin Julie and her husband Scott).  So we take a quick right down Mariah.  We quickly spot my mom's car, park and proceed to the house.  After the customary greetings, and queries about what took us so long, we determined that we were only about 10 minutes late.  We were just in time to partake in the Coors Light and for me to defend my snowboarding obsession considering my knee injury.  Moral of the story?  On a long enough time-line, a man will find where he's going, don't EVER question it.  The only question should be, how patient are you willing to BE because who knows how long that time line actually is?

Keep Shreddin' the Gnar!
J.

I hate that I have to use the library to screw around on the computer.  This is so LAME.  They have these little signs up that tell you what kinds of material are not allowed.  Like I'd be watching porn at the library anyways!!  That's what home is for!  Besides... I wouldn't want to scare anyone.  People here seem........................ can't find a word.  I'm too much for this town.  LOL!

So yesterday I went to have lunch with an old friend of mine who actually lives in Pullman (weird).  His name is Stryder... well, that's what we call him.  It's his last name, but it's what he prefers too.  Like some people, his first name is far from cool.  Yeah.  He came over to check out the new house and say hi to the boyz.  I thought he was gonna trip over his tongue when he saw Stormy.  They haven't seen each other since she left for college about, oh, seven years ago.  Hell I'd f*ck her if she wasn't family.  She is HOT!!  Well, she invited him to CJ's with us, and we had a good time.  He had to sleep here on the couch last night cuz he was a little too drunk to drive the 15 minutes to Pullman.  Okay so wayyyy too drunk.  LOL!  He snuck out early this morning so he could go to work.  Poor guy looked like hell!  That's the problem when you're friends are all partiers and you're a workaholic.  You end up going back in time to the days when you got drunk off two beers.  He's not that bad, but it made us all laugh to know even Stormy and I could drink him under every table in the place.

It was hilarious this morning!  I had this little old man walking his dog by the house and I was sitting on the porch drinking coffee (and some Jack... shhhhhh), when he stops, looks at my driveway, and literally almost ran over to see what I had parked in it!  LOL!  It was so funny.  And of course, Dozer and Dosha had to check him and his dog out (one of those funny looking Corgi's that look like they've been smooshed).  It's my 1957 Chevy Bel Air.  He was drooling.  It was cute.  LOL!  I just pulled the cover off of it yesterday, and I'd forgotten how pretty she is.  Missing the front window, the doors, the seats, the paint, and oh yeah.  The motor!  It's my project car.  I've always wanted one so I picked this one up out of Cashmere, WA last fall and haven't done a thing to it.  Ran out of money... but not working will do that to ya.  I think I stood out there for about an hour or so talking to this old timer.  He's actually one of my neighbors (lives 4 doors down), and his name is Harvey.

I just noticed I've been sitting in this library for two hours typing, surfing, and people watching.  How lame am I?  Oh how time flies when your talking to yourself in your head.  Time to run and check out prices on digital cameras (and camcorders *wink*), and a cell phone, and maybe I'll even job hunt today.  Who knows.  I may just head home and have a couple beers.  It's only 10:15 a.m.!!!!  Who's gonna stop me?!  LOL!!!

By: trees_rule

Hmmm so what's been happening over the last few days? OK my dad came to visit last night!! It was good as to see him, and he got to see my new house (he was posted to the same Air Force Base almost 30 years ago), and I got to see his new 4x4! I love it, I think it's inspired me to sell my subaru and get one like it! I already wanted one for awhile but it's hard ot let go of my legacy- it's so fast and fun to drive :P
I WENT TO A DRIVE IN MOVIE SUNDAY NIGHT!!!!! It was so sweet, I'd never been to a drive in movie. Exactly how I imagined it to be too. Alannah and I went, it was only $5/car! you tuned your car stereo to a certain freq. for sound. We got heaps of food etc before hand, it was primo..
Now I'm listening to the Aerosmith CD I bought in an online auction on the 6th, and its finally turned up! "My back 9's are killing me!"
