It's that time again...

That's right. Time for Vancouver's favorite Monday night party to return. This year promises to be one of our best yet. First off we had to say good-bye to the Royal, which shut it's doors in May. Lots of good times were had and we're sad to see it go. On the flip-side we're stoked to have found our new home at the METropole located at 320 Abbott St. They've gone out of their way to make us feel at home by installing a dozen HD TVs and a brand new HD projector and screen. On top that they have a full feature arcade with pool table and foosball.

We were so excited to get this season rolling that we've taken over Mondays already. The Pre-season is going on with no cover charge and $5 doubles so you can get in shape for the winter party season. The freshest beats are calling you to the dancefloor with resident elDJloco on the 1s and 2s.

Stay tuned right here for the latest party info or check us out at our blog:

2 BIG bits of news!!!!

1/ I'm now self-employed running my own mobile phone shop. Doing ok at the moment but only been a month so far so too early to tell. At least I hit my break-even point 2 days ago (10 days before end of month) and, yes, that does include paying myself!

2/ I'M GOING TO BE A DAD!!!!!!!!! Bex is due in 4 weeks time! Its a little boy (no name decided yet) and we're both really looking forward to it! Bump seems to be growing daily and its weird feeling him kicking! Nursery is all done - we completely re-did one room, carpets and all!

I have yeat another new car. A 98 'S' Nissan 200sx (not standard - not even close!) Tremendous fun to drive and, with a little under 300bhp, quicker than most things out there!

Will try to get on a bit more often...

There's an old saying:  "Time flies when you are having fun".  Since I'm flying and having fun I'd like to know where the time is actually going.. Especially since I'm not seeing it fly by me when I'm in the air.. I know I know.. That's a bit corny on my part.. However it seems the older I get the faster time "flies".. As a kid I couldn't WAIT to get older and would constantly wish time would just hurry up.. I was having a lot of fun then too.. Now that I'm older I'm constantly wondering where the heck my time is going (since I never seem to have enough of it).. All that to say I wish time would slow up a bit now!

Now that I've got that out of the way on to the flying part.. In 2 more weeks I'm officially going to have my heli license!  2 weeks!  That is if I pass the final test.. I better pass as HOLY SMOKES have I worked hard for this.. I thought flying a heli would be a whole lot easier than this.. However it has proved to be challenging in the most unusual of ways..  In fact hovering has proven to be the hardest.. You'd think not but let me tell you it is alot like standing on a beach ball balancing while patting your head and rubbing your stomach while reciting the alphabet, all at the same time... My brain goes you want me to do WHAT!?!?!  And for some reason every now and again while I'm practicing my left foot gets a twitch in it and presses just a wee bit harder on that pedal.. I think every now and again it has a blond moment.. Laughing.. The first time I got full control of the heli I thought I was going to pass out from one part fear,  one part adrenaline and one part pure pleasure.. All in all I am having the best time..

Hope everyone is enjoying their spring as much as I am enjoying mine.. And CONGRATS to Mike and Kendra on their wedding!  I'm so psyched for you guys!  May you have a long full happy marriage ahead of you!

So it's been 6 weeks since my injury.. and 4 since surgery... i'm starting to go a little crazy!  I am finally getting to wabble around on crutches and moving my leg a bit, going to physio lots and trying to get my leg to bend.  I am progressing well, gaining about 8-10degrees of motion for every couple days.  But it,s still not good enough for me. I'm going insane sitting around the house and not being able to enjoy being outside and having fun.

I was also told today that although I can bike this year, I may not be able to downhill. f*ck. That's what I have been waiting all winter for. I am going to talk to my Dr next week when I see her again and see what I will and won't be able to do.

I now understand what other people go through when they are hurt.  This being my first injury, i didn,t quite get it before.  Now I feel super bad for not helping out some of my friends as much as I should have when they were injured. I didn't realize how hard it is to take care of yourself when there is no one around.  It sucks.

So, hopefully in 2 weeks i'll be able to start walking.  That would make me super happy.

Pushing for Perfection

Hey Jibbers and Jumpers,
The past couple of weeks in The Parks have been really exciting times for everyone. We've seen lots of sun and snow. Our Parks are now pretty much built to capacity, giving our teams the opportunity to really pimp out our features. We've been switching rails and jumps in and out to keep things fresh. Both mountains are changing daily. The Showcase Showdown this year was a huge success. Big shout out to Brad Broughton from the shop, and his team of volunteers for their help with design and building. The Atomic Supercross is this weekend; results to come.

On Blackcomb
- The Snowcross track has a new line this year that everyone should check it out. The course is open daily.
- The Highest Level, and Choker lines are riding perfectly every day, the lines are dialed right in nicely. The Highest Level is rounded out at the bottom by a massive re-entry platform with an Up-Rail to Wallride. The Choker line finishes with an awesome Quarter Pipe that is Zaugged daily.

On Whistler
- The Bobcat line (right side of the park) has been filled out with an A-frame rail combo, a couple more jumps, and tweaks to the other jibs.
- The Chipmunk line is fully built out as well, with a couple new jumps, and changes to the jib lines Park Events
- The next King of the Rail comp is going to be March 21st. This is event is the last KOR of the season, and may even be moved to the base of Whistler (next to the GLC) this time. So make sure you register
- The following day (March 22nd), will be the Park Rider Series Slopestyle, on Whistler Mountain. The course will be on Whistler's Bobcat line (right side of park). All levels of riders and skiers are welcome so come on up, and ride in this fun event

See you all up here!

Everyone that loves snow boarding knows that accidents can easily happen, and accidents do happen on a daily basis. That is why you have to follow basic tips to prepare before you actually hit the slopes, and if you do not follow the basic rules then you are simply asking for accidents to happen. That is why I recommend that anyone who is planning a snow board tip should do the following before they even consider leaving the house:

1.    Ensure that you clean your board and your boots. When you allow your boots and board to get dirty, then they not click into place as well, and you also risk slipping etc. More than anything else you should never deliberately go to the slope with boots and a board that are dirty.

2.    You should always ensure that a member of your family or friends knows where you are, and when you are expected to be back. If you are out on a long run, and something wrong happens, then you are left to rely on someone to find you if the worst happens and you get lost with an injury.

3.     Always wear waterproof clothes. If you do not wear waterproof clothing then you are surely asking for problems. This means water proof trousers, water proof jacket, and water proof gloves are a must.

4.    Make sure that you do not eat something that is too filling or you may end up with cramps and the kind of thing that you have to try and avoid. The best food that you can eat before you hit the slopes is high calorie, low fat foods, such as pasta for example.

5.    Do not consider trying runs that are well in advance of your ability levels, the trick is to take things slowly and try and build up gradually, time by time, every time you visit. Jumping ahead of yourself can actually mean that you place too much pressure on yourself and you end up not wanting to come back.

6.    Consider your friends and prepare how you are going to act based on those that you are going snow boarding with. If the snow boarder is an amateur, then you have to think how you would feel if you were to go snow boarding with someone and they were to always try more challenging runs. You would surely try and compete and that can cause accidents and embarrassment.

7.    Bring a change of clothing and a snack for when you are out. It is good to come prepared and you do not want your day to end early because your clothes are uncomfortable or because you are hungry or thirsty. Remember that when you are out on the slopes that if you fail to drink enough then problems can happen. You may feel cold, so you do not feel thirsty, but that is why you have to try and ensure that have enough to drink.

Making sure that you are prepared for going on a snow boarding trip is one of the best ways to ensure that you have a great day, and so does everyone around you. Taking that extra time, to ensure that everything is going to go smoothly will surely pay off when you are on the slopes.

Sorry no photos of me snowboarding, I haven't figured out how to ride and take photographs at the same time.  Maybe I should get a camera that does video too.  blah!

I thought Id write more than once a week, but I've slipped already. Its been officially 17 days after the surgery. I would say I can type on the computer okay, and my range of motion has improved but the fingers are still swollen in the joints kind of like arthritis. maybe this is like what rheumatoid arthritis is like. I finally figured out how to sleep without staying up all nite(straighten out the arm gets those cold sensations going) The shooting pain to fingertips is still there but its decreased in frequency and intensity.
My next milestone would be decreased swelling and being able to spread out all my fingers(full extension) of course diminished pain is a must. Doc says I ought to get a nurf foam ball to squeeze and work my fingers. Im going to try. The biggest change since the last update is typing is easier. Also my first three fingers and thumb are no longer stuck in a retard half C fist(they can straighten out but not entirely). I can also supinate/pronate as well but there is still some pain on the edges. Pressing buttons is still a little weird though(like stereo) but I'm hopeful it will improve. The internal male energy has returned and flowing well. I think it must have been the spirulina/fresh celery/apple/frozen pineapple drink that did it. Im not taking a daily antiinflammatory tho(was takng naproxyn-alleve) I am taking tumeric powder instead. I figure my liver will love me more for it.

My Blog: Why?
By: kindra

Dave,
As im sitting here, sweating from running, listening to john mayer..ironicly, keep looking up to see if i have that new message, i think, i realize, i hope. Time after time, this hope, just keeps getting tunred down. I just keep waiting for that "one day and some day". But as this time goes on, it makes it harder and harder to wait for.  Thats when the realization kicks in. Do i really wanna be with someone who makes me wait like this? Who will make me go crazy because i just want him? Do i really want someone who makes me cry ever night and stay up waiting, only to find in the morning that it was another let down of a night? No, no dave i dont. So why you ask, why do i continue to wait, why do i continue to put myself through this pain and misery when i could any it any time i choose? Becuase im in love with you and its not that easy to just let it go. I tell myself that i will be ok and everything will be fine. But yet, there's that one part of me that say no, no i wont. I need you, i will always love you and of course always want you, dont give up, he'll come around some day. So i don't, i wait. And i wait and wait and wait. As each day passes, I hope, as each night rolls around, I cry, all because i dont want to give up on you, all because i still have my faith, my hope. Dave i'll always love YOU, it will always be YOU, but one day, im going to give up, my hope will be gone because its so sick and tired of being let down every single now.  There is only one you, but there are people that are like you only will treat me better, will love me too.  So, in the words of john mayer "I will find another you."

I am going to talk to you about affiliate marketing or what is most commonly know as MLM – Multi Level Marketing.

For those of you who have not heard of MLM it is considered the best way to make money online although I have to say this method has received a lot of stigma over the years namely from those people who never made money from them and quit.

The fact is that 70% of people that TRY MLM programs usually quit within 2 months of joining and are usually for the same reasons, that they never made any money.

Truthfully those people were probably told they would make a small fortune in a very short period of time but sadly the person that introduced them was only interested in signing them up and failed to explain how to build a successful business.

To build any business successfully will require hard work and should be treated as a full-time job although this is not permanent it is necessary to build a solid foundation in the early days.

Sadly most are not presented with these facts so I guess you cannot blame them for quitting or even giving the MLM opportunities a bad name.

There are 3 main reasons to be able to succeed in any MLM program which I am about to share with you and in my opinion are key to success.

  • The Right Program - You need to find the right MLM program that is low cost and offers the best compensation plan.
  • The Dream – This has to be one of the most important ingredients because if your dream is big enough you will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
  • Support – You need support with anything that is new especially from those who are already successful and are willing to help you succeed.

Ok now let’s look at these 3 key reasons in more depth to help put things in perspective.

The Right Program

Now although there are a lot of MLM programs on the internet it is important that they are an established company, offer an excellent compensation plan, provide tools to help you build your business and have a product that most people want and need.

GDI or Global Domains International are in my opinion the only MLM company that offers all of this and for only $10 a month.

Now one thing you have to realise is that if you want to work online from home and be successful in any business there will be some cost attached to it. Although GDI offers you your own business, product and unlimited income opportunity for only $10 a month plus you can try it for 7 days free.

So lets break it down and see what you get for your hard earned $10 a month.

  • Web Hosting
  • Your own domain name
  • 10 email addresses
  • Web site building tool
  • Access to the GDI Forum
  • Tools to promote your business
  • Unlimited income opportunity

As you can see you get your own website, the tools to build it and can be active online within a few short hours but what’s more incredible is you can earn money too.

So who are GDI and how do I make money?

Global Domains International, or GDI, was founded in 1999 by Michael Reed, CEO and Alan Ezeir, President who both recognized another opportunity that was largely ignored. The dot com boom that was so popular back in 1995 reached its peak around march of 2000. What Michael Reed and Alan Ezeir wondered was if there were other available extensions that businesses could use as a domain name. They ultimately focused on the domain extension .WS, which belonged to the tiny island nation of Samoa, deep in the South Pacific. They were able to execute a deal with Samoa stating they had to produce 15,000 registered domain .ws extensions in 3 years. Well they accomplished that goal in GDI’s 1st month of business and the rest as they say is history. In the 2002 Special issue of Inc. magazine, Global Domains International placed #37 on the Inc 500 magazine’s “List” of the USA’s 500 fastest growing private companies and #5 in the state of California. If you have come across any .ws adresses on the internet you can rest assured that they have been registered through Global Domains International, as GDI has single handedly captured the market share for the .ws extension. But what really puts the icing on the cake is the amazing business opportunity they have incorporated in to the equation.

So now let’s talk about how you earn money.

For every person that you refer to GDI you will earn $1 every month for as long as that person remains a member.

That person that you refer – for every person that they refer to GDI, you will earn $1 every month for as long as that person remains a member. This continues down for 5 levels.

So even if you only refer one person, but that one person referred 50 people, you would earn $1 for each of those 50 people. If those 50 people referred just 1 person each, that’s another $50 per month you’d earn.

Remember though, as I said earlier you only get out of a program what you put into it. You could very easily get someone in your downline that could refer 50 people and that would be great, but you might not, so don’t just rely completely on your downline, especially in the beginning, try to refer a few people.

Let’s look at an example of the sort of income you can earn with GDI.

If you referred 10 people and those 10 people referred just 5 people each, and those 5 people referred 5 people each, and so on for 5 levels. Your monthly income would be $7810.

Sound Good???

Well that’s not all, GDI also offer a weekly bonus scheme of $100 for every 5 people you personally introduce. So for example if 20 people joined your business you would be paid $400 for that week and best of all there is no limit to the amount of people you refer. If you were to do the same every week that would an average of $1600 a month which for a lot of people would replace their job salary.

You may be thinking it sounds too good to be true or how can I refer 10 people, I don’t know 10 people that would be interested in this.

Well its not too good to be true, there are people earning even more than that with GDI.

As far as referring people GDI offer the tools to help with this however as I mentioned previously support in this business is key to your success from those who are already successful.

The Dream

To be successful you need to have a reason or a dream this could be a few hundred dollars a month to begin with or a new car.

What I have found is that people fear to dream because they don’t believe it will happen. It has amazed me being around this business how quickly people underestimate themselves and what started out as being a dream of making a few hundred dollars a month turned into buying their dream home cash.

This business offers so much its about people helping people and the feeling of knowing you have helped others take back their lives is priceless.

Support

Most people that join MLM programs have little or no experience on how to build a successful business and sadly quit before they even get started.

Having support from those who are already successful in this type business is by far priceless and it amazes me that so many people do not grasp this when inviting people to join.

After all the core of all MLM businesses is helping others to succeed which in turn helps you succeed.

Failing to grasp this simple concept and not put in any effort will surely lead to failure and again these types of people will only end up hopping from one opportunity to another but never finding success.

So there you have it an honest opinion on Multi Level Marketing which I hope this article has helped you in your pursuit for financial freedom

Ski or Snowboard Rentals – Whistler

Renting skis used to be a dreaded experience, long line ups for poorly maintained out of date equipment provided by ski bums who didn’t care. Changes have swept across this industry with new companies competing in every resort worldwide.

With airlines charging extra for ski baggage, the inconvenience of carrying heavy equipment and an increased environmental awareness the number of skiers renting equipment has risen.

If you look at ski technology and ski branding a two year old ski can often look outdated, therefore before you leave home do a quick calculation of “how many days a year do you ski?” multiplied by the cost of renting against the cost of new skis. The average cost of renting top end gear is around $50 CDN for two days. If you average 10 days per year that works out at $250 per year. New skis with bindings range from $500 to $1100.

Factor in the cost of tuning, inconvenience, baggage fees and your environmental consciences and renting comes out the winner.

My family decided to test this theory with a visit to Whistler in January, we looked online and booked with a company called Affinity Sports. (www.affinityrentals.com)

After breezing through the airport and traveling the sea to sky highway we checked into our hotel around 9pm. Surprisingly the rental shop was still open so despite our jet lag we headed in to pick up our gear. The staff greeted us on the way in the door and our reservation was ready. We tried on the boots and with skis hanging on every wall I picked out a new Pair of Volkl AC50. The binding was adjusted and the staff answered all our tourist questions while helping us feel welcome in Whistler. The kids tried snowboarding had to choose from a selection kids gear.

On the third day the weather moved in so we took a rest day, I dropped the skis back at the store and was surprised to learn I would be credited back the days I didn’t use. I then took advantage of the best reason to rent, trying different equipment. The trend in skis is to have more specialized equipment to suit the conditions so I changed for a K2 Coomba, a powder ski. Each time I dropped into see the staff at Affinity they accommodated my every request without hesitation. The equipment was tuned, it was the latest model and the service was excellent.

Two weeks later back at my desk I thought about the old rent vs. buy argument. I will be renting skis, snowboards and maybe even snow blades every time I go. The image of ski rentals is changing and being driven by companies like Affinity, I hope to go back to Whistler for the Olympics and will be renting everytime.

so by this point ( if you made it this far ) your definitely sick of my blabbing so you should probably stop reading this and be riding (or recovering).

again if your down for a ride im at grouse every week. it might help if your a grouse rider (cheapest passes why not)

hope ya'll having a sweet season so far. definitely the best christmas present this year is the sweet snow. you really know its good when the busses dont run up the hill.

thats why we drive lol.

After a week of consistent snow, the riding here in Whistler is back in business! We're into our 5th week of camp and the second group of long term campers are packing their bags and preparing to hit town as we speak.

Christmas in the camp houses was celebrated in true Whistler style with wine and cheese, pressies, partying in town and of course, Christmas day spent riding on the mountain... how else would you rather spend your holidays?!

We're super stoked that we've been able to take our groups to secret powder stashes on the mountain without getting stuck in long holiday lift lines. Also, now that the upper alpine lifts are staring to open, we're looking forward to some steep pow runs in the bowls and maybe a hike or two for some of the best untracked powder on the mountain. It's that kind of inside local knowledge that means we can ride harder, faster and in deeper pow that anyone else hahaha!

The terrain parks are already starting to look good. The Nintendo Park on Blackcomb has a number of hip, box and rail features and a couple of jumps. As more snow falls we'll begin to see the Terrain Garden (beginner's park) and Higher Level (XL) parks take shape. We're also looking forward to seeing the double rainbow stall feature and dancefloor jibs they're building in the Whistler park using the cable reels from the construction of new Peak to Peak gondola.

It even looks like there's almost enough snow for our first backcountry jump day to be held in a secret location yet to be revealed... can't wait!

Happy New Year form the team at Proride. Hope your new year sounds as exciting as ours!
