So I busted down to california, 25 hour drive in a 3 seater truck with 3 people, pretty comfy to say the least. We got into town a day before the West Coast Invitational Rail Jam, so I got one day on my injured ankle too see how it was going to perform. My ankle felt great and I rode fairly well in the event. The rail was too close on one side of the scafolding to get my banger tricks out,  but I could make alot more excuses than that if I felt like it. The next day I was riding threw the park just cruising, and I corner cut a jump and landed right on a japanese guy that wasn't paying attention and re-sprained my ankle. That took me out of Snowboarder Magazine's Superpark, so I ended up helping the filmers and rider communicate during the event because I was too bunged up to ride. I ended up partying though, because if you can't ride, you gotta enjoy yourself somehow. Here are some pics from a couple of the nights, and a pic of me really motivating the guys to go out there and get after it.

Hola Senors & Senoritas!

Things have started to slow down in Whistler and it is full on spring
time... but not very sunny, so i took off to Cabo, Mexico!  My friends
were heading down there for their graduation trip from university and
somehow i got to go? (I have not graduated)  We spent 10 days down
there and went surfing, partied at Squid Roe lots, Drank many
cerveza's, and ate lots of tacos!  After this little vacation i flew
from Cabo to Reno and Paavo & Kale picked me up in a white mini van
and we drove to Superpark at Mammoth Lakes to shred for 5 days.  It
was a bit of a shock to go from sand to snow but after a day I was
ready to board the slopes and we had a blast!  I saw logan there... he
drove down and hurt his ankle again so he was just limping around
talking shi*t, but it was good to run into him cause its been a while.

well now im home in vancouver and the weather sucks again... surprise!

 Yo peeps,

After coming back from KBECK, aka the second best place in Canada next
to BC, I was set up to do some contest at this big festival in
whistler. Although in my own world I figured I would be pre-qualified
as I placed 4th the year before, missing finals by one spot, it was
not meant to be and I had to run qualifiers the day before the main
event. The qualifying day was hella foggy and everyone was being
pussies and not hitting the jump. So I rolled up and figured it would
be an awesome idea to try a judge run in the fog, and as I preceeded
to drop in, I called everyone bitches and then claimed I was going to
knuckle the jump anyways and didn't care....well I hit the nail on the
head and knuckled trying a frontside 9 and also came up 90 degrees
short on the rotation which ended up sending me into a superman down
the whole landing. With the weather they ended up cutting it from 3
runs to 1 each for the day, and that ended up being my run, so
needless to say, I did not qualify. So the next day instead of
practicing for the event I went out shooting with Serfas in the park.
We ended up trying to hit the same jump that claimed me the day
before, but once again I knuckled it and we called it off. We decided
to shred a hip at the bottom of the park that had lotsa pop that you
could air over like a table. First hit off it I over shot the sweet
spot by probably 15 feet, but stomped, so I figured why not keep
landing there if I could because it would not only make my photo sick,
but would also more or less cancel out anyone else's that wasn't going
that big, muhahaha. After moving on from backside 180s I went into
backrodeos, and landed about 5 all 15-20 feet past the knuckle, until
Serfas told me to get one more for a sequence, although I have to
admit I thought he had already shot some sequences. I proceded to
chuck another one, but over-rotated a bit, and where I was landing all
the other times was good as long as a landed perfect, but the first
time I didn't stomp right, there goes the ankle. So I am now layed up
for a week or 2(hopefully), and Serfas has claimed another victim!

So it is now spring time but judging by the conditions in Whistler right now you would think it is mid winter. check the photo below with Jake basically drowning in powder up at the lake the other day. We Just had a good 4 day stint of sunshine so Logan and I were snowmobiling everyday and we are a tad bit tired and sore now. Below you can see a picture of our backcountry tour guide (and fellow Endeavor rider) Kale Stephens taking care of his morning business before we went to build some jumps. We stayed up till about 7:30pm yesterday to hit our jump right till sunset and it worked out great! I raced to the city and barely got my life together, then jumped on a flight to Montreal for the Empire Shakedown this weekend. Stay tuned for some photos and video update from the trip out east.

Logan and I recently competed in the showcase showdown last weekend and had a great time. The usual went down. i fell in one of my runs... didn't make it to the finals and Logan landed his and made it to the finals and got 5th place. This was the 11th annual showcase showdown and it has evolved over time for sure, it used to be a quarterpipe contest in the
spring up Whistler. Now they have turned it into a nighttime pipestyle
contest at the base of Blackcomb and it is great times. It is spectator
friendly with tons of prizes and a beer garden. It got really warm so the
course was falling apart a bit and the landing to the hips were getting
sketchy but i had fun hitting the hips and the take offs were nice. Pete
Anderson and Trini were on the mic being hilarious and making the crowd laugh as they tear in to some of the competitors subtlety. All in all the event was fun and we had fun shaking it up at the old Garfinkles
afterwards! Dom Gauthier took this photo of me on the hip. check it out!

Hey ya little web freaks! So Logan and I were planning on going
snowmobiling with our filmer Morgan Rice. Morgan and I met up in the
Brandywine parking lot and Logan is such an idiot...he went to the wrong
snowmobile spot and he never found us. We were forced to go along
without him. We went up to a spot called Metal Dome that is past the
Brandywine cabin. We met up with the Whistler Valley Snowboard Club
crew and had a cat to build us a big booter. In the morning we just
hit some natural lines and in the afternoon we hit the jump. The day
was a beauty and it was tons of fun. Everytime you go snowmobiling
someones sled mess's up or someone gets really stuck. You can see in
the photo that Dan (WVSC coach) rode over a roll to find a creek bed.
He buried his snowmobile nose end first and fell flat on his face.
Luckily he was not hurt and we were able to get is sled out pretty
easily. Hopefully Logan is not lost somewhere on his snowmobile right
now. I'll let you know.

Talk about a manly activity! Driving out deep in the valley and
meeting up with some dudes with some big guns. Since we were still on
our board testing trip we decided they would be our target. I have
never shot a gun and Logan has shot a shotgun back in his hick town.
I was so psyched after shooting the hand gun... I felt so powerful and
strong. It was almost like therapy to shoot those bad boys. Eric, our
supervisor, gave us a shotgun and that thing had some gnarly kick
on it when shooting the slugs. He told us to place it in our 'Gun
notch' which is in between your collar bone and shoulder. The kick
back is not as bad when you put the butt end in your little notch. All
in all we f-ed the boards up pretty bad and got to blast some sweet
guns. I recommend shooting some guns next time you're trying to release a bit of stress. Logan and I are going to go hunt for moose on our next day off.

I am so sick and tired of agro Logan and his mood swings that I
challenged him to a fight...a real legit fight in the ring. I was able
to get some training from a mixed martial arts professional so I could
learn how to do this shi*t. To tell you the truth I have never been in
an actual fight...I have only thrown cheap shots in brawls and even
that is rare. First of all, I just don't get into many disputes and
second of all I can solve most of those disputes with words. I am a
lover... not a fighter. Anyway, Logan shows up looking like an idiot
and we hit the ring. We didn't have head gear so I said we should
only go 70%. Logan came at me and popped me twice in the gut... not
that hard at all but I got so freaked out I just knocked him basically
full force in the head and his beanie fell off... then he came at me
much harder and things got a little hectic. Logan got lots of shots
in on me and I started to get really tired. My arms basically turned
into spaghetti and i was pooched. Although i didn't defeat Logan in
the ring I still think I am the better man. Check out the video posted
to see us slug it.

Young, Willing, & Eager and Bidwhack are giving you the chance to walk away with a brand new snowboard for less than you paid for that mocha your sipping! All you need is a mobile phone and the change in your pocket. Bidwhack can do the rest.

Q. What is Bidwhack?
Bidwhack is the incredible new system that lets YOU WIN amazing auctions for almost nothing! How would you like to win a snowboard for a few bucks? What about a cool phone or some kick-ass swag for pennies?!? How would you like to know that you’re supporting worthwhile charities at the same time? Bidwhack takes old-fashioned auctions and turns them on their heads. Most people can’t participate in traditional auctions for the really cool stuff because the person who has the most money is the winner.
We’ve leveled the playing field! Now ANYONE can win!! All you need is the Lowest Unique Bid or LUB.

Q. What is a Lowest Unique Bid or LUB?
A. It’s simple! The LUB is the lowest bid that only one person guesses. For example, let’s say you bid $1.12. Someone else bids 0.25 cents. Ah, but a third person ALSO bids 0.25 cents.  That cancels out 0.25 cents as the lowest bid. Therefore, you are still the LUB with $1.12. By the time the auction closes, if no one else bids $1.12 OR lower than $1.12 with a unique number then you WIN because it’s the Lowest Bid that only one person entered! If you had bid $1.12 in that LUB auction for, let’s say, a brand new snowboard, then you would have won a new snowboard for $1.12!! Finally, auctions that anyone can WIN!!

Q. How does it work?
Bids can be made by using your cell phone to send a text message to 87878 ($1 per bid charged to your cell phone account. Important: If you use your phone to text in a bid that is less than a dollar, for example 23 cents, then you must put a zero at the front like this, “0.23”.) You can also bid by mailing a hand-written bid to the BidWhack corporate address (must include current date, auction name, bid amount, a return address and a functioning email address). Bidwhack will let you know where your bid is at (Low, High or LUB) for the length of the auction to give you a chance to respond. Winners are notified by phone and/or email and all prizes are FOB Toronto, (meaning that you have to pick them up here, or let us know if you’d like us to ship them.)

One would wonder why these boards are attached to the back of my truck... Well, Logan and I were told to test the new product so we thought we would go the extra mile and test them beyond their means. This was not the safest thing we did with our day because we had the boards flying 20 feet in the air behind us as we were passing semis head on!
