When asked, if you had a job title, what would it be? he  had to stop and think it through for a moment. If I were to put a title on  myself as a job, I'd say pro snowboarder, life-time traveler.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of interviewing legendary  shredder Romain de Marchi from his new home in far-off western Canada near  Vancouver. With kids in tow, tumbling around in and out of the Skype video frame,  Romain talked candidly about life as a father, how that's affected his  snowboarding and risk taking, as well as other controversial subject matter like  the Natasha Richardson tragic death and his bitter divorce with his old sponsor, Burton.

We also spoke about his new dedication to smaller  up-and-coming brands like his new sponsors Shred and Slytech Action Sports Protection with whom he recently signed (yes, having 2 little  tykes running around now, he straps on back protection wherever he goes to ride). And then of course, we covered that hot new  startup brand YES Snowboards you will want to hear about what he has to say about his new partners and why bigger is not always necessarily better.

His answers are not quite what you would expect from the rather  notorious party animal we have read about in the past. His contemplative nature  and deep insights paint a picture that is more Obi Wan Kenobi than a young reckless Anakin Skywalker.

I'm looking forward to share the insider look into  Romain, the pro snowboarder and life-time traveller's life and will let you know when and where it can be found in its entirety!

Later,
Stephan

Besides an interest in winter sports, he spends most of his time in Maui, Hawaii where many athletes, including Romain, regularly come through to scratch their tropical itch. Call me crazy but I find LIFE to be one giant opportunity for adventure after another.. We can either park ourselves on the couch or we can get up and chase an adventure.. I feel saddened for all of those people that choose the couch..  Me, I'd choose adventure everytime..

So in the sense of another adventure I enrolled in flying lessons..   That's right people the fairy is taking flying lessons so that soon she can be flying the big blue sky in a helicopter.. At the moment I'm in the "learning the machine process".. I can't wait to get up in the air!!!  My instructor is pretty cool and very patient.. He's very serious about his job which is good cuz lets face it I'm hyper and if he lets me have my way I'd be all over the place.. Hopefully he's got a strong heart cuz I'm sure I'm going to give him many "moments of near death experiences" once I've got control of the heli!

Woohoo!!! I can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! (okay so not yet but soon lol)

I am going to talk to you about affiliate marketing or what is most commonly know as MLM – Multi Level Marketing.

For those of you who have not heard of MLM it is considered the best way to make money online although I have to say this method has received a lot of stigma over the years namely from those people who never made money from them and quit.

The fact is that 70% of people that TRY MLM programs usually quit within 2 months of joining and are usually for the same reasons, that they never made any money.

Truthfully those people were probably told they would make a small fortune in a very short period of time but sadly the person that introduced them was only interested in signing them up and failed to explain how to build a successful business.

To build any business successfully will require hard work and should be treated as a full-time job although this is not permanent it is necessary to build a solid foundation in the early days.

Sadly most are not presented with these facts so I guess you cannot blame them for quitting or even giving the MLM opportunities a bad name.

There are 3 main reasons to be able to succeed in any MLM program which I am about to share with you and in my opinion are key to success.

  • The Right Program - You need to find the right MLM program that is low cost and offers the best compensation plan.
  • The Dream – This has to be one of the most important ingredients because if your dream is big enough you will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
  • Support – You need support with anything that is new especially from those who are already successful and are willing to help you succeed.

Ok now let’s look at these 3 key reasons in more depth to help put things in perspective.

The Right Program

Now although there are a lot of MLM programs on the internet it is important that they are an established company, offer an excellent compensation plan, provide tools to help you build your business and have a product that most people want and need.

GDI or Global Domains International are in my opinion the only MLM company that offers all of this and for only $10 a month.

Now one thing you have to realise is that if you want to work online from home and be successful in any business there will be some cost attached to it. Although GDI offers you your own business, product and unlimited income opportunity for only $10 a month plus you can try it for 7 days free.

So lets break it down and see what you get for your hard earned $10 a month.

  • Web Hosting
  • Your own domain name
  • 10 email addresses
  • Web site building tool
  • Access to the GDI Forum
  • Tools to promote your business
  • Unlimited income opportunity

As you can see you get your own website, the tools to build it and can be active online within a few short hours but what’s more incredible is you can earn money too.

So who are GDI and how do I make money?

Global Domains International, or GDI, was founded in 1999 by Michael Reed, CEO and Alan Ezeir, President who both recognized another opportunity that was largely ignored. The dot com boom that was so popular back in 1995 reached its peak around march of 2000. What Michael Reed and Alan Ezeir wondered was if there were other available extensions that businesses could use as a domain name. They ultimately focused on the domain extension .WS, which belonged to the tiny island nation of Samoa, deep in the South Pacific. They were able to execute a deal with Samoa stating they had to produce 15,000 registered domain .ws extensions in 3 years. Well they accomplished that goal in GDI’s 1st month of business and the rest as they say is history. In the 2002 Special issue of Inc. magazine, Global Domains International placed #37 on the Inc 500 magazine’s “List” of the USA’s 500 fastest growing private companies and #5 in the state of California. If you have come across any .ws adresses on the internet you can rest assured that they have been registered through Global Domains International, as GDI has single handedly captured the market share for the .ws extension. But what really puts the icing on the cake is the amazing business opportunity they have incorporated in to the equation.

So now let’s talk about how you earn money.

For every person that you refer to GDI you will earn $1 every month for as long as that person remains a member.

That person that you refer – for every person that they refer to GDI, you will earn $1 every month for as long as that person remains a member. This continues down for 5 levels.

So even if you only refer one person, but that one person referred 50 people, you would earn $1 for each of those 50 people. If those 50 people referred just 1 person each, that’s another $50 per month you’d earn.

Remember though, as I said earlier you only get out of a program what you put into it. You could very easily get someone in your downline that could refer 50 people and that would be great, but you might not, so don’t just rely completely on your downline, especially in the beginning, try to refer a few people.

Let’s look at an example of the sort of income you can earn with GDI.

If you referred 10 people and those 10 people referred just 5 people each, and those 5 people referred 5 people each, and so on for 5 levels. Your monthly income would be $7810.

Sound Good???

Well that’s not all, GDI also offer a weekly bonus scheme of $100 for every 5 people you personally introduce. So for example if 20 people joined your business you would be paid $400 for that week and best of all there is no limit to the amount of people you refer. If you were to do the same every week that would an average of $1600 a month which for a lot of people would replace their job salary.

You may be thinking it sounds too good to be true or how can I refer 10 people, I don’t know 10 people that would be interested in this.

Well its not too good to be true, there are people earning even more than that with GDI.

As far as referring people GDI offer the tools to help with this however as I mentioned previously support in this business is key to your success from those who are already successful.

The Dream

To be successful you need to have a reason or a dream this could be a few hundred dollars a month to begin with or a new car.

What I have found is that people fear to dream because they don’t believe it will happen. It has amazed me being around this business how quickly people underestimate themselves and what started out as being a dream of making a few hundred dollars a month turned into buying their dream home cash.

This business offers so much its about people helping people and the feeling of knowing you have helped others take back their lives is priceless.

Support

Most people that join MLM programs have little or no experience on how to build a successful business and sadly quit before they even get started.

Having support from those who are already successful in this type business is by far priceless and it amazes me that so many people do not grasp this when inviting people to join.

After all the core of all MLM businesses is helping others to succeed which in turn helps you succeed.

Failing to grasp this simple concept and not put in any effort will surely lead to failure and again these types of people will only end up hopping from one opportunity to another but never finding success.

So there you have it an honest opinion on Multi Level Marketing which I hope this article has helped you in your pursuit for financial freedom

Stupid thing: South Lake and Steak
By: konk

Man you'd never know we were in such a down economy because Ashley and I are doing great at work and have been to Tahoe more this year than EVER.  Just got back from South Lake where we got a two bedroom suite right next to the Casinos for 100 bucks with tax.  It's good to have a job where all your clients are in Tahoe.  Rode the big H again, total spring conditions, 60 degrees plus, and then ended the day at "Steak and Brew" which is such a good restaurant to chill at!  We even took the kids and they got to sled and make snowmen.  Tahoe was amazingly dead, the only upside is that the deals are EVERYWHERE and the slopes were chill.  Even the Casino was mellow- ahhh good times had by all.

My Blog: Afton update
By: bernwern

Been shredding as often as I can, assuming conditions are at least OK.  I refuse to ride on ice and crap this season.

So yesterday it started snowing around 11AM.  High temp of 7° yesterday, so snow was very light and dry compared to typical MN snowfall.  I was kicking myself in the ass for not coming prepped to leave from work, but I knew I had domestic responsibilities with my wife gone a few days.  As I left work, i knew I needed to ride the freshies, so I busted ass to get my errands done.

What was usually a 20 minute trip to Afotn turned out to be 70 minutes courtesy of dipshi*ts doing 20mph on the multi-lane interstates.  As soon as I got on the regular highways I easily did 55 with no issues.  I got to Afton about 6:10, ans on the slopes by 6:30.  Hardly anyone was there!  Even better, those that were there had crappy wax jobs and/or didn't know how to ride in fresh snow!  Most were in the chalets :)  I had free-reign!  Snow was slow in the flats, but no issues if you pumped your legs to build speed.  Soft and easy to cut!  Best night at Afton I have had in nearly 2 years!  No groomers out to ruin the fresh stuff either :)

The only draw-back was the cold.  I was warm and had to open vents to dump heat, but sitting on a snowcovered chair caused it to melt, then freeze to my legs and ass on my next run.  This took it's toll ad required 2 pitstops to the chalet for a Rusty Nail.  I lost about 45 minutes of riding, meaning I only got a little over 2 hours on the slopes.  I made the most of it, shedding like a mad man and possing people left and right (the few that were out there).  One skier was keeping up with me....or should I say I was keeping up with him?  I had to strap and unstrap afterall, and we were always 1 chair apart.  Most times I would get 2+ runs in before others made it down, and I like to lay some deep lines.

So, all in all, Afton is doing pretty damn good.  They are 95% open now with good coverage.  More snow in the forecast on Thursday night and Friday AM, so hoping this will be a great winter!

EDIT: forgot to mention I started ordering new gear yesterday....boots and board are coming already, but the bindings are awaiting new stock and I was told the website will be updated in 1-2 days.  I'll post pics once it all arrives!

I figured since the new season is beginning I'll keep updates on here :)

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to go boarding yet.  Sorta sucks being a poor college kids but I'll be working two jobs over break so hopefully it'll be cash money.

I also have my same old set up, nothing much has changed with that.  Over break I'll more than likely be in at Okemo or Mt. Snow but while I'm at college I'll be hitting Ski Saw Mill in PA.  It's a tiny mountain but whatever, it's the closest.

Not to mention I'm pumped, I'll be going to my buddy's lodge as soon as second semester starts, I believe it's in PA.  I'll also be hitting up Gore in NY :)

It's going to be an insane season and I cannot wait!

Through life you live and you learn. Whether its with your job, hoddy, or personal life. Something recently though has been bothering me and I can't let it go.

I dated a wonderful girl for about 7 years. We cut to our different directions the 3rd quarter of 2007, and talked almost daily up until Thanksgiving 2008, when contact has been pretty much zero. I still consider her a friend, but it is tough for me to know what she's doing.  I do want to best for her, but I've realized that it's better for me to leave it all behind and pretty much "forget" about her and all the good time's we've had. I hate to do this, but it has to be done so I can move on with my life. It gets tough though, especially when her brother and dad are some of my best friends.

Another thing though that bothers me is what I've missed out on. Me and the ex broke up for about 6 months in 2005. During that time I dated and towards the end of the year started to fall for another woman(we'll call her M). My ex doesn't know this, but we were on our way to a fairly serious relationship. M was phenominal, thats all that needs to be said. At the very end of 2005, me and my new date ran across my ex. Well, long story short, my ex came back and wanted to get together. I had a tough decision, and made it to familiar territory. I lost contact with M, and the last I heard, she was in Africa doing some sort of mission work. I sit here now wondering what it would've been like if the decision would've went the other way. I do know, I probably wouldn't have moved to Durango and had all those good times, but I wouldn't have been hurt twice by the same woman. I wonder quite a bit, if the last couple years was a waste of time. If there is such thing as a parellel universe, I'm jealous of the one in that universe from that moment. He's got something special, and I'm sure he's a lot happier.

Moral of the story, take care of you and make decisions for yourself (especially if your single). When you get feelings involved, your judgement becomes clouded and you may not make the best choices.

WHAT do you do when you need a second job in order to afford to snowboard, yet that second job will take away all of your snowboarding free-time?

and is it bad to just want to drop everything and move to the mountains?

also - I just realized my "sb.com birthday" is in 3 days. I'll have been here 5 years already. wawaweewa!

Considering we didn't even have the movie ready for the first premiere I wasn't really expecting much for our second attempt. All I knew was it was gonna be a fun night. And guess what, I was right. Special thanks goes out to Pilsner who supplied the PartySnake crew with enough delicious refreshments to make a grown man cry. The pre-premiere party really got everyone fired up. Shot gunning on an empty belly is a beautiful thing.

For having no real expectations I was blown away by the turnout. Damon from Coastal with the help of the Monster crew put on hands down the best snowboard video premiere I've ever witnessed. I still don't understand how our "experimental" offensive flow team project got in on this amazing night not to mention being featured as the grand finale. By the looks of the crowds reaction the video lived up to its name. Keep posted for more PartySnake premieres coming soon..

Hey Josh, how's life? Just came across this new exciting business opportunity that I wanted to share with you.

Let me know if you're in!

And I thought Richmond was a scary place to drive around in.

If this is the new "Ghost Ride The Whip" we're all in trouble..

Today I just arrived in Saas Fee for the first day of the FIAT rookie camp.. we all arrived in saas fee in the sun which became rain after a short and necessary lunch brake..  Romain de Marchi, the 15 kids and I. The rookies were selected based on small video parts they sent of themselves snowboarding, and invited by FIAT to come spend 3 days with us.. we first introduced each of us.. the hello my name is, i come from and my favorite trick is.. etc.. then we played beach volleyball in the sand with a soccer ball so right now i m pretty much soaking wet with about a pound of sand in my hair 2 radiating red fore arms and 2 scratched knees .. oh! and guess who is here? remember Ramona? the coolest letter i ever recieved? well her sister and brother are here.. and she draw another really cool pic!

our first riding day was chill.. i didn’t feel like riding much but it was cool to watch the kids ripping and to feel their motivation.. being in saas fee reminds me of when i came here to ride everyday for 4 months.. and those kids  are in that exact state of mind.. they want to shred all day everyday.. it s inspiring! after riding we had a run through the vita course with Romain explaining to the kids how important training is to avoid injuries.. and we played some more volley ball..

the second started with very icy slopes and kicker but got really fun after a couple hours.. it was fun to shred and to get some of their motivation. the afternoon was spent on tips on how to contact sponsors, the basics of a sponsorship contract and a couple of what to do and not to do on interviews.. then we went hitting some golf balls.. the cool thing with this camp is that they didn’t know eachother before coming here and now they are shred buddies! i m sure they ll keep in contact with each other the camp.. and that’s really cool!

sunday sunny morning on the glacier of saas fee judging all the kids hitting the last 2 kickers of the park.. out of the 15 rookies, it was cool to see the 2 girls shred.. Anais Cettou was doing good on her frontside 360 and 540.. for the boys the top 3 rode really well; Basile Specker got 3rd with stylish and good amplitude on backside 720 to frontside 720, David Bertschinger finished 2nd with good style on frontside 900 to cab 720, and our FIAT ROOKIE 2008 is Patrick who stomped almost each time with great style and technicity, changing tricks on each of his runs, backside 720 to frontside 720, cab 900, switch backside 900 to backflip (those are the stomped ones).. quite impressive for a 14 years old!!

I was stoked to take part of this FIAT camp and get to meet all those young shredders.. hopefully i ll see them soon again.. they’ll probably take my job soon enough!

You Can Fix the Xbox 360 Red Light Easy!

Click here: Xbox 360 Red Light Fix

Although it might seem unbearable, it is actually not that difficult to learn how to fix a broken Xbox 360.

In fact, it is feasible to repair yours right at home without any  technical
know how or use of special equipment. Most individuals shouldn't have any problems at all when fixing their Xbox 360, 99% of them time and depending on what the problem is, you should be able to fix it within an hour to 2 hours.

When it comes to fixing your console, you'll find within this article, exactly what you should do and where you should go to get started on repairing your broken Xbox 360, I won't necessarily be able to describe the entire process in this article, but I can recommend a great place to start.

Because the Xbox 360 contains such a large amount of processing power in such a small space it is quite prone to overheating.Just play one for a few of hours non-stop and it is likely that the console will become
exceedingly hot.

Of course this heat is not at all good for the delicate components inside, and the
lack of an efficient cooling system only adds to the issue.

Extreme amounts of heat can cause damage to the processor, memory, hard drive
and basically anything else inside!

The funny thing is, why the every so notorious "3 Rings of Death" occur, is because the Xbox 360 heats up so much that it melts lead free based soldering around the GPU processor, leading to 3 flashing lights on the outside of the console and an entire system shutdown.

Because of the poor design of the Xbox 360, you can now better understand how to repair a broken Xbox 360, because you now understand why most problems due eventually happen from overheating.

Before you jump in knee deep and start taking your Xbox 360 apart, you're going to first have to identify the main fault and what you need to do to repair it properly.

One of the best moves you can make for yourself is to get a repair manual, not just any repair manual, but Xbox 360 red Lights repair manual, but that's just my opinion, however, whatever repair manual you choose, you'll get the instructions, video tutorials and step by step guidance you need to get the job done correctly the first time, you can be sure of that!

Another thing you can do, is find a few reviews on the different, there are lots of Xbox 360 repair guides available, but not all of them are good, so finding a review or two, you'll get a better idea of what guide will work best for you and your particular Xbox 360 error code.

SNOWBOARDERS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CHILD SEX SLAVERY

Wouldn’t it be rad if you could help make someone else’s life better by doing something you love? While you’re out shreddin, making turns and having a good time with your friends, someone’s life is making a turn for the better. We have come up with something pretty epic and it’s called the ZION POP Program (People of the Planet). The POP Program is people driven and is all about Social Justice. We have made it our mission to help out our fellow humans who have been dealt a bad hand. This is the part of ZION Snowboards that we call “serious fun.” There are some hardcore issues happening in our world and we thought it would be rad to involve  core snowboarders in making a difference. With the POP program we will be donating 10% of the sale of our participating products to charities that help make people’s lives better. Cool thing is - you can do this while you’re doing your switch backside 10’s or Tindy’s!

ZION is stoked to announce that our first partnership for the POP Program will be the Ratanak Foundation! ZION will be donating 10% of the sale of POP Products sold in our Flagship Online Shop to the Ratanak Foundation's New Song Project. The New Song Project is dedicated to

fighting child sex trafficking in Cambodia. We had a chance to meet up with Brian - the Founder of the Ratanak Foundation and we literally had our jaws on the floor after hearing about what was going on in the brothels of Cambodia with children as young as 5 years old. These children are being violated 10-20 times a day for a cost of 2 dollars per customer. Young virgins however, can go for up to five hundred dollars because customers that have AIDS believe they will be cured if they have sex with a virgin. You can imagine the devastation that this brings. The New Song Project is all about rescuing these children and rehabilitating them so that they can learn what if means to be a normal human being. The children that are rescued are brought to a top secret, high security location where they are in rehab for about 2 years. They are taught to be children again - most of them do not know what being a child is - they never got the chance. This stuff is not a cake walk - this is secret mission James Bond and Chuck Norris kind of stuff because the children need to be extracted from the brothels and pimps and then secretly brought to a safe location. As you can imagine the pimps do not want to lose their "product" so this is a very dangerous job for the rescuers whose lives are at risk every time they do a rescue operation.

The goal of the ZION Snowboards POP Program is to put as big a dent as possible into the beast of child sex slavery. Partnering up with the Ratanak Foundation is going to change children’s lives one at a time and give them a chance to be normal humans after everything has been brutally stripped from them.

ZION is a company founded and run by snowboarders. Our office is the mountain and the only suits we wear to work are snowsuits. We hope that building boards with maximum fun factor, offering products that set you apart at your local scene, and involving you in making other people’s lives better will get you stoked on ZION.

Whistler Blackcomb news - Peak 2 Peak update

The completion of the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola ropework and the arrival of 28 Sky Cabins set the stage for what will be the biggest construction milestone of the lift installation – the first Sky Cabin to cross the record-breaking 3 kilometre/1.88 mile, unsupported span between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.

“With the haul rope spliced and all 28 Sky Cabins transported to the Blackcomb terminal, our next objective will be to get the cabins on the line and to send 12 across the span to Whistler,” says Rick Temple, PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola Construction Manager. “We are aiming to send them over by mid to late September, and are on track for the upcoming December grand opening.”
The Sky Cabins were shipped across the Atlantic from Olten, Switzerland where they were manufactured by CWA, global leader in design and construction of cableway vehicles. The Sky Cabins were then loaded onto ten trucks for the journey through Canada. Two cabins feature glass floors, enclosed by a railing, for a bird’s eye view of the Fitzsimmon’s Valley 436 metres/1,430 feet below.

Another significant milestone was the splicing of the haul rope to create a continuous loop, which took place August 29 and 30. The splice was 68 metres/220 feet long, and took a crew of 14 people over 15 hours to complete. Norm Duke, a FATZER AG certified splicer from Wyoming, lead the team of seven Whistler Blackcomb employees and six Doppelmayr/Garaventa employees to complete the job. Duke has spliced many of Whistler Blackcomb’s FATZER AG ropes and spliced the Symphony Express rope in 2006. The splice was achieved by untwining strands from each end of the steel cable and then re-braiding them together to ensure a perfect bind that maintains the haul rope’s diameter of 46mm.

Doppelmayr’s unique 3S gondola technology has each cabin traveling along two 56mm track ropes which bear the weight of the Sky Cabins, with the haul rope pulling in the middle of the two tracks. The haul rope was the only splice needed for the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola since the track ropes are stationary and do not loop from Blackcomb to Whistler.

The terminal buildings are nearing completion with cladding installation in the final stages and station set-up taking place. Construction progress of the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola is captured daily via webcams, and weekly via photography and construction blogs on the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola microsite at www.whistlerblackcomb.com. The PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola will open in December.
