Quebec City, March 19, 2008 - Handrails and urban snowboard fans had everything they needed Friday night March 7 to appreciate the 3rd edition of Stairsmasters, downtown Quebec city. The Stairsmasters is the urban event taking place during the Snowboard Jamboree which celebrates snowboarding of all kinds!

The best of the best were all on Place D’Youville to show the public how high is the standard for becoming professional. Some never seen before tricks got thrown down, for the 4000 spectators. Such as the switch bs 180 to 50-50, backside 360 out from Brian McClatchy, or the 180 switch 50-50, to switch bs out from Louif Paradis. Also great performance by Frank April, Chris Rotax, LNP, and Alex Cantin. The victory went to Jason Dubois, who has been very consistent on the rail, but also pushed the limits on the wallride. Jason went home with a brand new Suzuki motocross, a huge medal and $375 for participation prize.

The Stairsmasters : stay tuned for next year edition.

See details, results and pictures on www.snowjamboree.com and of Video the event at 33mag.

Hello Snowboard people, I hope you all are doing good and enjoying the Winter. I know it’s a long time since I posted my last blog but I have been so busy with school and snowboarding the last month. But I will blog more the next weeks, promise. Ok since my last Blog I have been to a lot of places with or without Snow... At the end of November, one week before the Air&Style in Munich I went to Köln, Germany with Isenseven for some Streetrail Riding, which was pretty tuff because it was so warm and we just had space to bring barely enough snow for inrun and landing from the Snow stadium in Neuss to the Rails Spots. Which made riding in the city more dirty and painful. Photobucket But we had a lot of fun with our Friends for a few days. Thanks to the Carhartt boys, to let this all happen!!! At the end of our trip in Köln weh ad our last Isenseven „übermovie“ premiere in Germany, wich was a fun party with our fans. This nice boy Moritz, was so stoked to meet us that he even painted a picture for us with all our movie sponsors. Photobucket After Köln and a few days school, my best friends Peter König, Marco smolla and me were riding at the Nokia Air & Style in Munich for the Rookie challenge. It was my 2nd year at the Air & Style and I can just say its the most amazeing snowboard Copetition I have ever been. Ist so much fun, noise and incredible snowboarding. Its hold in the Olympic soccer stadium in Munich which is an amazeing location. After the Event Marco and me had a signing session with our sponsor O2, where people could win our boards.. Check out www.isenseven.de for the Air&Style Video footage. Photobucket After the Air & Style I had a lot to do for school and tried to film fort he Isenseven movie a few times but the snow conditions in Austria, Switzerland and Germany where so bad that we didn`t had much success. When vacations started I went home to my parents and family to spend Christmas with them and a few days of, which was very cool. After this I went to Garmisch Partenkirchen to spend „New Years“ with the Isenseven crew like every year and afterwards we straight went to Austria to find some snow and get some shots, which wasn’t too good because of the bad snow conditions. So we have hit a lot of handrails during this time. And I went to my Sponsor Vans, Park Opening in Mayrhofen, Zillertal Austria with Silvia Mittermüller. The Park is very great with a lot of small and big Jumps, Rails and Boxes for everybody and even a Halfpipe. You should checkl it out! Photobucket After 2 weeks of family, new years and filming I had to go back to school and write a lot of exams, which took me almost a month of hardcore learning and just snowboarding on the weekends. But its my last year school, so I need to do a little bit more for it. Last weekend we even made an avalance course with a skilled guide in sölden with the whole Isenseven crew, it was very interesting and important for us when we go out filming in the backcountry. Next week I am going to New York and then drive up the whole East Coast of the USA for some urban riding with Michi Zirngibl Chris Patsch and a few other guys from Isenseven. We will stay in the USA for 3 weeks so I think I have to blog a lot of stuff afterwards.... I keep you posted. I wish you all a lot of snow, wherever you are!!! Tobi Photobucket

(Monday December 17th 2007) After much speculation and an industry-wide rumour mill, StepChild Snowboards is proud to announce the signing of JP Walker to the International Pro Team.

"JP's riding and dedication to snowboarding speaks for itself- not many snowboarders have remained at the top of their class for over ten years. We are absolutely thrilled to have him on the team. It's cool that we share the same values and beliefs as to what a snowboard company and team should be." - StepChild founder Sean Johnson.

" Where else would I end up? Come on, you know I keep it one-hunney! StepChild is one of the last true snowboard companies out there. I love that they value what a professional rider brings to the table. Rider owned and driven, others claim it but none live it, son!" - JP Walker.

There's no denying JP has had a huge impact on the sport of snowboarding over the past decade. Anyone who knows anything about snowboarding is familiar with JP's video parts. Over the years he set a new standard filming with MDP and for some of the biggest selling team videos of all time; he invented tricks and numerous first-ever-bangers caught on film. JP's riding and style has stayed relevant even in an era marked by the X-Games, reality shows, corporate takeovers and riders with fistfuls of energy drinks. No one has been able to continually raise the bar, and maintain a high level of integrity, style, innovation and technical tricks like JP has. Even after a season unexpectedly cut short, JP managed to have a solid presence in videos and magazines, including his Future cover, surprisingly JP's first North American cover shot of his career.

Walker's snowboarding career is the result of immense talent, hard work and dedication -attributes he will continue to bring to the game in the future. His priority is the progression of snowboarding, but it's also about the way he and his sport are portrayed to the public. Driven by the same ideals StepChild and JP are the perfect combination.

"Obviously StepChild is focused on snowboard videos and progression, two things that I've always been an advocate of. They have an amazing team of handrail slayers, and i'm stoked to be a part of it, been riding their boards on the down low this past week and i'm stoked. It's simply the best fit. One." - JP Walker.

Simon Chamberlain adds, "Growing up watching snowboard videos, JP Walker has always been my favourite snowboarder of all time. It truly is amazing to see him riding for Stepchild. Its like a dream come true, not only for me but for the whole company."

JP will have a Pro Model with StepChild in three sizes: 147, 151, and 154. The boards will be sold with a regular edge as well as a RETT (Round Edge Taper Tuning) option. The board has a dull round edge between the feet for jibbing, and tapers out to a regular edge by the time it reaches the contact points. "The boards are tuned at the factory exactly how I would tune them at home." adds JP.

JP is currently filming with Mack Dawg Productions for Double Decade, which will be released in August 2008. His current sponsor list includes: StepChild Snowboards, 32 and Etnies, Oakley, Nixon, Bear Mountain, Milosport and Molcasalsa. StepChild's International Pro Team now consists of JP Walker, Simon Chamberlain, Markku Koski, Stian Solberg and Fredu Sirvio. The International Am Team consists of Joe Sexton, Risto Ruokola, and Scotty Vine. Other notable supporters include Chris Wimbles, Brian McClatchy and E-Man amongst others.

About StepChild: StepChild is a snowboard company that specializes in camping stoves, fishing tackle, and tennis rackets. The StepChild team is currently training and testing sand boards in Egypt. Joe Sexton and Simon Chamberlain are currently pushing the envelope of progressive sandboarding in the Egyptian Parallel Slalom while Markku and Stian aren't having much luck in the Sandboard half pipe event. "The stupid camel just won't pull us to the top! He's going to need an energy drink sponsor" adds Markku.

I find myself bored, once again....That transitional period when it's too cold/ my bike is too broken to ride, yet it's not cold enough to poach snow for a handrail session... My girlfriend is a school-workahaulic and hasn't had much time for me last two weeks... Sexual tension is a bitch... I'm broke, but have a new board, boots, and helmet...but all i can do is wait...
smoked far too much reefer today...don't even know why the f*ck i'm writing this... like i said boredom... there wasn't that just poetic? I hope i helped kill someone elses boredom temporaraly by writing this shi*t...if not, i'll try again later...
PEACE

3rd Day filming in Revelstoke.

______________________________________________________________________________ Today was a sunny day!We went to a new spot. We were looking for a spot where we could film ice covered trees in the nicemorning sun except all the spots were flat. At the end of the trail there was an overhanging cliff that I had never seenbefore. We could have filmed that but we kept going. We need to learn thetrails and learn from our experiences here. We'll keep gong tomorrow!

Shota's filps ! Nite shoot at the HEART films house.Shota flips a no foot and lands 15 feet down a sketcky icy driveway!SICK!!!

\shotas flips01

We hung out at the HEART House.

この日は、カメラマンのジゾーとYuho(参加差し入れピザありがとう)!!

TAROSAN - FilmerI planned to shoot Takumi and Shota in front of the HEART House since wemoved in and finally we were able to set everything up. Last night we filmed in Vancouver at GROUSE Mt. so we spent the day preppingthe site so we can have a night shoot. Today we had two photographers, ZIZO and Yuho. (Thanks for the PIZZA!) Thanks for shooting despite the cold!

Takumi and Shota were hitting 2 different spots. Shota was trying a no footflip down a 15ft icy driveway and Takumi was trying a gap to wooden handrailto dropping onto the same icy landing! Shota landed his knarly trick. Itwas SICK!!!

shota_nofoot

これがその瞬間です!!This is the sick shot!

Next Takumi gapped 12ft onto a sketchy wooden rail 15ft above a flat icydriveway. The gap was knarly for he needed to hike up into the woods andride down an icy path through the woods to get enough speed to gap onto thewooden rail. Check out the footage in HEART FILMS vol. 2! www.heartfilms.com

4th Day Filming at Revelstoke

[:イヒヒ:]映像にも残っているのでお楽しみに!_____________________________________________________________________________

This is Kony! The conditions were not too good today:( We thought we would take the dayoff but we found a super fun jib 30 seconds from our hotel so we had funjibbing that. This is Keiji. We filmed a lot of miscellaneous items from the junk yard. Kony had somepretty strange balancing acts and it was pretty funny. [:イヒヒ:] Check it out inHEART Films vol. 2!

The last day filming in Revelstoke.

_______________________________________________________________________

The last day filming in Revelstoke. Today we checked out a spot that the sled necks were jumping with theirsleds. It was pretty COOL. We had to cross the highway and continue on thetrail forever! It was super far to the top of the mountain. The trails were crazy bumpy all the way and it was torture! It was a SBXfor sleds. We pushed on harder and harder...It was like we were in atraining club![:ニョロ:] We usually ride about 100km with our sleds to film. Today we filmed a cliff. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, Tadashi decided to leave Revelstokeasap. Keiji and Tadashi drove non stop and made it into Whistler 4 in the morning. They drove for 10 hours! Too long!!! They endured and stayed awake. They kept hallucinating and were on anatural high that made both of them think they were going CRAZY. Non stop filming for 5 days in super hard sledding conditions to a non stop10 hour drive...TADASHI is a super tough guy...MEGA TOUGH! It reminded usof our Alaska Trip last season...CHECK IT OUT in Heart Films vol. 1. Thanks for driving and getting everyone home safely, Tadashi!!! Our road trip was a success. Despite our non stop schedule, we discovered alot of new terrain and everyday was super exciting! ROB, GORDIE, DAVE...We appreciate your help!!! Thanks to Natasza for lending Keiji a sled so last minute! Translated by Sachi and Yuho.

To make a very long story kinda short, the reason some of you haven't heard from me in a while is because i spent last week in the intensive care unit trying not to bleed to death. I got f*cked really bad, like worse than anything I have ever experienced, crazier pain than I even knew existed. The temp dropped overnight to freeze the slush into the iciest, hardest shi*t I’ve ever ridden on. I caught my edge on a rail and flew way out into the flats, swan-dive style and knew I was f*cking dead... The force of me hitting the ice going that fast bent my ribcage in and split my liver from top to bottom along the right side. Looked like an old beat-ass vagina that owed money...Severe internal bleeding, gnarly ambulance ride, pissing and missing the bedpan...the past week has been a crazy ride on a big slice of shi*t.

The verdict was six months on the bench. They said the pain would be too much for me to get out of bed for a month but I’m up and about one week later. They moved it back to three months after some serious consideration, but I’m still going to miss what I’ve been looking forward to for more than a year; I finally got invited to girl’s Superpark, among other coveted invites I’ve received lately. I’m disappointed beyond belief that I won’t be able to compete in Mammoth this year. Cali filming trips and Superpark footy are no longer an option. I worked so hard on getting handrail shots this season and am now bummed out that it’s all I’m going to come out with.

shi*t happens, I know...and I'm glad I'm not dead.  So whoohooo stop by my pad and smoke one with me; I'm in need of some company while I sit in bed and romance the bong.  That's all for this season peace out f*ckers!!

Sessions outerwear is excited to announce that we've added Canadian banger, Dave Rouleau, to our team. Dave has been a steady shred in Canada for years, getting tones of coverage in Snowboard Canada Magazine, co-creating the underground Gnarcore Snowboard DVD series, hosting his own podcast on www.snowboard.com and he's even got a blog...but who doesn't.

Dave is currently shooting for the highly anticipated Capita video and is also knee deep in next years Gnarcore video "The Power normal".

"I like people that stand out in a crowd and have talent and riding skill to back it up….uhh, Dave is pretty cool too, I guess."

Sessions Canada
Team Manager- Mike Prangnell

"Its nice to finally ride for an outerwear company that doesn't f*%king suck. Style, durability and a bit of old school cool, Sessions rules! I'm genuinely stoked to be riding for them and all those amazing humans at No Limits"

Snowboarder/artist - Dave Rouleau.

Also new to our Canadian team are French sensations Phil Jacque and Fred Lacroix. Phil took first place at the 2006 Street Static event in Montreal and was featured inSugar Shack's run away hit "Bandwagon". Look out for Phil in next season's release "Try this at home".

Fred Lacroix is a "fresh out the box AM' who is turning heads and sliding down handrails. Check out Fred's interview on Polarmedia.com. It's all in French but holla!...bzzang!

MOLLY MILLIGAN ON SESSIONS CANADA

Wait, it's not over yet. We've also scowered the Canadian female ranks and are very excited to announce the addition of Molly Milligan to Sessions Canada. Molly has been getting steady coverage in Snowboard Canada Magazine. She's had a busy season so far and Sessions is with her all the way. Yeah Molly!

EVENTS

Sessions Canada was a proud sponsor for the 2007 Sludge Cup. This legendary banked slalom draws riders from all over western Canada and North Western Untied States. The event which takes place at Big White Ski Resort has been going on for 10 years and was started as a memorial event for Canadian pro Neil Edgworth. This year's event was a true old boys club. Second place in the masters division went to Sean Johnson and first went to Alex Warburton. The pro division was won by U.S. legend Temple Cummings.

Soon the snow will melt and Sessions will be there with news on our Bang Bang Canadian skateboard team. Thanks for your time. Now you can press delete.

Our boy Dan House and a couple friends were out killin' it this past weekend.  The boys went out and hit June Lake handrail, which got abused in a good way with out any interuptions except the odd passerby that wanted to check out some stunts, or some destruction on the brutal cheese gratter stairs.  Either way, those who did pass by got  to see a handrail get torn up!  Dan House ended up chipping a bone in his hand while shreddin' but that didnt stop him from riding all weekend.  The boys also hit up Donner Pass for some sweet cliff, booter and powder face shot action.  Everyone loves face shots right?  don't try to hide it!  We know you do.  Donner Pass was off the chains, even though the guys had to deal with yuppie ski school instructors chirppin' them from the road as they drove they fancy cars to their fancy, preppy jobs.  Aren't yuppies suppose to just talk ish behind people's back and not say anything to their face?  either way, yuppies suck.  Check out some of the footage at Stub_Films profile or click here to short cut your way to greatness!
Enjoy!

On februar 8/2007 we (Team Hall Factory: Timo (rider) Andi (camera) Janna (supporting) and myself (camera) ) decided to leave school to go to the outdoor swimming pool in the town next to my home town.

We are on to make a video to get our friend Timo K. sponsort.
After a lot of filming in an Indoor-Skihall we were planning to film some handrail.
Searching for a good rail, Timo decided to ride one of the handrails in the outdoor swimming pool. After climbing over the fence we checkt the place out to make sure there are no other "spectators". It was the only snowfall this winter, so the drive we build wasnt that good, and it was also not very cold and it was bout to rain, so we had to hurry. Two dudes had to drag Timo, that he got enough speed for the jump.
Every thing work very well and in the end we got 25 min of film material and a bunch of great photos , cold feet and Timo hurt his knee. (We even filmed from the top of the diving platform)
So check out my photos and the short video (for video search for member: teamhallfactory  .!!!) of Timo K. riding!

well im sitting here studying for my midterms and i have one week left, well techinically 5 days 20 hours and 40 minutes until i am home from school for my reading week where i will get the lovely opportunity to ride with my crew and actually snowboard with people instead of alone and my ipod.  i have been enjoying school and going to tremblant at least once every weekend and if im lucky i get to ride a little local hill during the week at night.

all i have to say is that im really excitied to be home and go do some handrailing and get some filming done which will make me quite happy and enjoy the pleasure of my friends.  the only down fall is that im only there for a week and i have 3 midterms this week which is stopping me from goin home earlier. boys i cant wait to ride and party

so far this year i only had the pleasure of riding in one contest which held 75 riders in my category and i took first place in the rail jam.  downfall with that is that i won a tremblant membership but i had already purchased one and used it months before and cannot claim it for next year and having a hard time selling it for a cheap price. im selling it for 100 bucks which i find really lame because ya, its worth 1000 for people my age but it is late in the season but i thought 250 was a good deal.  won a bunch of other stuff and happy with really winning and that it was a good time and fun by all.

in the past 2 weeks we went to a hill edelweiss and so far ive gone there, the people i have been riding with have got hurt and went to the hospital with major / medium injuries.  2 people out of 2 times, i guess im just getting lucky.  after the powder party we had there i got drunk and then there was a naked race for a day pass at tremblant, but i went in it to win it for a friend so i dont have to ride alone, we are students and poor and that is what is holding them back from going really.

this all kind of random information and just keeping everyone posted on my life and how it is going but ya, im bored and trying to avoid studying but will begin shortly so ya, whateever, cant avoid it forever.  i did lose my cell phone at tremblant because i was so drunk and falling over and must of fell out of my pocket, but who cares, i bought a new 1 off ebay so 150 so im happy i got a deal at least. im really pissed up at cell phone companies b/c im on a plan and it should only be 1 year for me to upgrade my phone instead of freakin 2, thats stupid, shi*t happens within a year and they should offer some kind of insurance or w.e. if you lose your dam phone or lower the dam prices, like GOD!

but ya, im kind of tired of typing, but leave a msg and ill post another blog later to get people to knwo how my wonderful week at home went.
