Still Bastards Party at Blue Mountain

If you follow snowboarding at all you know we're in the heat of filming "Still Bastards" the sequel to the cult classic "Little Bastards". In honor of this monumental moment in snowboarding we've decided to throw a party this Friday night at Blue Mountain in Collingwood Ontario. We'll have someone on hand filming the event so don't miss out on your chance to make it into our new movie, get some free stuff and have an overall rip roaring jolly good time.

Speaking about filming for Still Bastards, we have a crew of a dozen or so heading out on a film mission to Big White tomorrow. The crew is also scheduled to make an appearance on the set of "Shred". If you haven't heard anything about this project yet its brought to you by the makers of the 80's hit comedy "Ski School". Renee Renee, Tom Green and Dave England are staring in this good vs. evil type shred comedy based on two former snowboard superstars who are now washed up trying to get back in the game by finding, then molding, then finally, living off the future of snowboarding. They'll be shooting two party scenes this week and needed some professionals so they called in our crew to get the job done right. I'm not sure if they're totally aware of what they're in for but I guess we'll find out Tomorrow. Keep posted for photo's/ video from our adventures.

Look out for our guys on the Tom Green show at www.tomgreen.com

Strange Kale news: I called Kale on the weekend and asked what he was up to. He told me he was watching clueless 2 with his girlfriend.

A quick note from the folks at DropZone Corp to give you a little more info about who we are and our first product, the HangTimer.  We are small company located just outside of Seattle and we love to ride.  We made the HangTimer because we like free beer and needed a way to figure out who’s buying.  We’ve had a blast designing and testing over the past couple seasons and hope you like the product as much as we do. We’ve been pretty low-key about the whole deal, testing at Hood, Crystal, Baker, Stevens and Whistler, both with beginner and expert Riders.  We’ve also spent time at the Whistler mountain bike park, more on that later…

We’ve had a ton of fun and feedback has been awesome. It’s sweet to have a job that puts us on the mountain.  We had a final round of testing at the Mt Hood camps last summer to verify the product was tuned and ready for production.  Thanks to all the folks who helped us test, you know who you are!

In keeping with our low-key approach, we are focused on getting the word out via the web and in-person events, that's why we are starting at Snowboard.com, where the core riders hang out.  We’ll also be visiting hills and sponsoring events on the left coast this winter and giving away free stuff, like HangTimers and swag to riders with the best style and air, so look for the HangTimer rig at a hill near you. For more info check back here and at www.hangtimer.com

Thanks and have a great season

What's up eh? Well, last weekend (July 8th and 9th) I went to Round 5 of the Canadian Motocross Nationals at my home town's track, Moto Valley. I brought the only friend who shares a passion for motocross with me, Carly. So we got there f-in' early on Saturday and watched ALL the practices haha. Yes, I know we're dedicated..and proud of it. Then, around 11a.m, we were stopped by this guy who asked us to be Trophy Girls. We were definitely down for it. So Sunday rolls around and we get there at 10a.m. sharp since we had to meet some guys who were going to tell us what to do. We walked to where we were supposed to meet, and they immediately start giving us all this free stuff. C.d.'s, stickers, autographed posters, shirts...it was sweet. Then they gave us these huge Royal Distributing shirts and told us to cut them up until they were "revealing". So we did that, and I think in the end, they turned out alright. I'll post a picture of us wearing them and standing with the sexy Dusty Klatt...yea baby. After that, we were pretty much treated like V.I.P. I felt like such a moto-slut haha. Between races we walked by all the tents, checking out everyone's bikes and whatnot. Well, once people knew we were trophy girls, things changed. One of the Suzuki riders hit on us for literally 10 minutes, and gave us Suzuki hats haha. He was hot..I enjoyed myself. Then some guy working with Kawasaki asked us to take a picture with his son (who motocrossed), and the kid wanted us to sign his jersey HAHA. The whole time I was thinking, "kid..we're nobody's, you're going to regret this". And then the Kawasaki guy was asking me about riding and I told him that next year if I do have enough money to ride, I'm going to be a privateer. And he was like, "ohh no, we'll hook you up and Kawasaki can sponsor you." I was like...sweet, too bad I hate Kawasakis because they're jap-crap. Then, for the FINAL race of the day, I got to go into the pits and take close ups of a bunch of the riders, and then I went on the track for the entire race and got some sick shots. The only downside of it is that all I have right now is a 55mm lens. Anyway, this is getting lengthy so I'll start talking about the end of the day. Carly and I left the guy who we worked with, Mark, our email addresses and phone numbers because they said they were going to hook us up with a bunch of Joe Boxer stuff. And they're sending us a dvd of the broadcast of us on stage (apparently it's going to be aired on 35 channels worldwide). After that, Mark took us around to meet a bunch of the racers. We met Roy, and Klatt (if you couldn't tell, I'm OBSESSED with him), and Mesley..which was Mark's racer. They were all sweet, especially Roy haha...he's awesome. Mesley invited me back to his hotel room hahaha. Then we left, and Mark called me a few hours later inviting us out for supper with a bunch of the mxers. Well, we went..and couldn't find the f*cking place because the East End of our city is f*cked up. I was so angry. Then Mark called me back later and I told him what happened, but by then they were heading to the bar, so we didn't bother driving across town again. But yeah, that was my amazing weekend. We started out as the only girls there who actually came to just watch motocross, and left as Trophy Girls haha. I never thought thats how it would turn out, but it was awesome. Anyways, I'll post pictures...check them out. Peace.

It is summer time, and I so rarely get consecutive days off, that I like to use them the best I can, unless family gets involved.  2 days off work and what happens, I get conned into going to the twin cities to move some furnature.  So a trip to get a hitch put on the truck,  6 hours on the road to Minneapolis,   running all over the cities to find a trailer,  Fill the trailer  Dealing with I-94 traffic out to Maple Grove on a Friday of a holiday weekend durring rush hour,  Filling the trailer again so that I can pull it back home again, Driving another 7 hours to get home, unloading the trailer again.  All this for a free Dinning room set.  With the amount I spent to get it, I could have went out and got a new one.  The things you will do to get free stuff, and keep antique furnature in the family.

For the rest of the summer, I think I am just going to take it easy, maybe one trip back to Itasca, but other than that get ready for next winter.

Have a great 4th of July, and for all the Canadians,  Happy Canada Day a little late.

So I was set up on Wednesday night doing a demo at Alcatraz's Wednesday night jam at Dagmar (in Ontario Canada). It was a good time, people were trying the new 2007 stuff, snow was soft and we were giving out lots of free stuff.......Then a patroller who was trying the new Axum and new Mojito's came by with some bad news.  Apparently, someone got hurt and he went inside with them and left the board outside.  When he came back it was gone! Yeah it sucks.

Funny thing is that the person who stole it probably doesn't realize that it was one of next years boards and no one else has it. So this is where you the general public come in.  If you see some clown riding a 2007 Axum.....don't punch them out, but rather let them know you know what they did and how lame it is.  This could have been your board, or one of your friends board, so for a lot of people this would end their season.  My only hope is that it wasn't a snowboarder who stole it but rather a wayward crackhead!

Here's a picture of next year's Axum the 156 is the UMA graphic

It recently came to me that snowboarding has slowly dominated my lifestyle and completely taken priority over everything else. I realized that snowboarding is more than competitions, and video parts. Snowboarding is life, it's a connection in which best friends temporarily become brothers, it's the most unbelieveable gift that anyone could ever recieve, and I'm going to make the best of it. Snowboarding isn't about winning free stuff, being popular, making money, or fitting in. Snowboarding is freezing cold lift rides where grown men are forced to cuddle up, snowboarding is brotherhood, snowboarding is fun, idiotic days followed by nights spend in poorly maintained hotel rooms and scrounging change in order to buy a value meal. Snowboarding is couch surfing, snowboarding is originality, snowboarding is wearing pipe gloves on-30winter days.

Snowboarding is Life.

howdy all. finals are over and i am soooo happy. they went fine...actually really well, i just hate the  pressure and stress that comes with school. im so excited about the holidays. i lost 15 pounds during school and im claiming the holidays as my 'pig out with out any guilt cause i need it' time. lol yesterday my sister and i went to pizza hut and each ate a half a stuffed crust pizza. man it was good. foods awesome. lol so my doctor report came back from my ski accident and it seems i have a hairline fracture of my pelvis. that probably explains why i walk like a duck. lol not really....well kind of. haha anyway, i went to a hockey game last night (fri) and my sister and i are regulars so we've got quite the group of friends going. my uncle is third up on the pole for a big construction company that owns the icedogs (thats the team) anyway so we allways get free stuff and weird attention from the mascot and announcer. its kind of like rex (the mascot) and geno (the announcer) trade games as to when they bug us. last night was rex's night cause the darn dog wouldnt stop bugging me. my sister and i walk into the arena before the game and discover him following us. of course you have to do the whole high five thing and smile and get all excited. we thought that that would cure it....but nooo. rex has to come to our box and bug us with more high fives and dancing. cause of my pelvis issues i had to walk around alot instead of sit in the rock hard chairs. everytime i got up to walk rex would be lurking around the corner just waiting. it got the point where i was trying to run from him but thats not really possible with a fractured pelvis. lol all he had to do was walk fast to catch up...there was no escaping. i was scared he was gonne snatch me up and make me sit on the back of the zambonie. they have this goofy little chair for kids to win rides on the zambonie and it looks like it would snap off any second. you get strapped into it and then have to wave to the crowd and stuff and they driver re-does the ice. its my worst fear that ill have to do that. over stimulation usually is due to the loud music and geno's painted face suddenly appearing in front of mine....but last nights over stimulation went to the dog.

Old stuff: 3/4/2003
By: JOE

I uploaded a new desktop wallpaper for everyone, should have some more even cooler ones soon. Get it in the free stuff section of the site. Put up some new mugs, let me know what you think, are they too arty? Or just dumb? Anyway lots of cool stuff planned for the next little while (on snowboard.com). Must write a sociology paper on Sports and Violence, but I'm soo putting it off. Ever notice how on the news they talk about the Dictator Saddam Hussein in a buddy type way? "So we're going to head over to Saddam's place and invade it" what's with the first name basis? Oh well I need to go to class now.
