It was a dark and stormy night in Squaw Valley but that didn't stop the kiddies from coming out to Mamasake to see Think Thank's Stack Footy and Airblaster's August movies. Mamasake was packed to the hilt and everyone was excited because the temp dropped and the winter jackets and beanies came out of the closet.... perfect attire for snowboard movie premieres.

Think Thank's Stack Footy was a great vid with crazy urban shredding, big park jump lines and fresh powder turns. The pants were tight but so was the riding in this vid. After the showing of Stack Footy there was a little raffle and then Ariblaster/ Thirty Two rep Eric Wallis hit play and "August" was off and running. Now for those that don't know "August" was filmed entirely at Mt.Hood during the first two weeks of August this year. I have to say this is a fresh new concept to the snowboard film industry because usually a movie is filmed through out an entire season, not just in two weeks. So for starters I liked that about the movie. Second it was full of fun jibbing and fun everything. A big thanks to all that came out and braved the monsoon at Squaw and a big thanks to Mamasake

11 year old snowboarder, Kyle Mack is added to the Infamous team?

British Columbia - September 8, 2008 - Infamous Management is proud to announce the signing of young snowboard phenom, Kyle Mack to a multi-year contract.

Kyle has been a force on the Burton Smalls since his introduction to the team in 2005. As a part of the Smalls crew he has shot, filmed and competed with some of the sports' most influential riders, photographers and videographers. Recently Kyle was featured in two back to back issues of Snowboarder Magazine, a feat for snowboarders twice his age. With his career on the upswing Kyle's parents sought honest representation for their son, and found it in Infamous Management.

"I'm looking forward to being part of the Infamous crew! It's going to be great working with Roberta and getting to meet the other team riders. My sponsors believe that this is a great step in my career, and I just keep thinking that I'm only 11, what is a career? I'm just having a great time shredding. But seriously, I do believe that being part of this crew is going to be an awesome experience all around, both personally and professionally." -Kyle Mack

At just eleven years old Kyle has begun to make his mark in the snowboard industry because of his raw talent and good style. Infamous has taken note of Kyle's athletic ability and achievements, and wants to provide him with direction as he makes the first and most vital decisions in his snowboard career. Infamous will ensure that he becomes a well-rounded and highly marketable athlete, and that his snowboarding will continue to stand out among his peers.

"In an era where there are more followers than leaders Kyle stands out, not just with his talent and style, but also with his knowledge and passion for snowboarding. Kyle knows what a real pro snowboarder is and doesn't let the mainstream market dictate that to him. He respects the riders that are doing real tricks and pushing the sport. In the near future Kyle will be the one setting the standard, I have no doubt about that. He has talent, maturity, and passion,  plus the support of a loving family behind him.  With the added support of Infamous and our athletes he will succeed." -Roberta Rodger

Kyle's ultimate goal is to become one of the best snowboarders in the world, which is why he wants to develop experiences in heli-boarding, the backcountry and at rail events. Not to mention he would like to have continuing success in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions.

Group Name:

Animal Nation

Artists:

Steige 'Tall Man' Turner, Mike 'Armadillo Slim' Armitage.

How/What started Animal Nation?

Tall Man - An almost fight between me and Mike about whether or not a certain band was any good. I told him he wouldn't know good music if he made it himself. Turns out he did.

When did you decide that this was something that you two wanted to take to the next level?

TM - I don't remember taking it to the first level! Haha. I mean, it's been about ten billion tiny little baby steps, so it's been more of an uphill climb. Up a steep pitch. And we're both pulling really heavy refrigerators.

AS - And my refrigerator is filled with beer! (for a little while)

What’s your music background?

TM - I guess my dad used to play the drums. He was a studio musician for a while, but he hung up the kit when I was born, so I never really knew about that side of him until I found a drum kit in the garage one day. Jackpot!

AS - I don't have too much of a musical background besides the fact that I used to write a lot of poetry growing up. My mom tried to get me playing the piano and the violin when I was younger but I was too much of a rebel to listen to her. Momma's always right!

Who plays instruments?

AS - We have a house full of different instruments from slide whistles to potato shakers, but for the most part we just use them to jam out with. Steige plays the guitars and MPC and is getting good at the piano too. I just stick to the turntables and my voicebox mostly.

Take us through the process of creating a new song?

TM - We like drink until we blackout. That has nothing to do with creating a song, but we like to drink until we blackout.

AS - Its a really magical feeling knowing that you can create something besides a baby when you are drunk as a skunk and cruising in auto-pilot!

How do you guys get your beats? Do you create everything? Who is more into creating the beats and song flow?

TM - We gotsta do mad hutlez for beatzz! Sometimes we'll trade a beat we've made for a beat that we like that someone else has made. Sometimes we'll buy beats with money we've made selling our beats. Sometimes we'll make beats to use. Mike makes tons of beats, like a new one every other night. It's kind of ridiculous. He loves digging through old records and what not. I used to love the art of the chop (sampling), but I've gotten too much into listening to the music lately. And I always find it hard to sample a song that I want to keep listening to.

AS- The internet has played an integral role in the networking of Animal Nation which, in return, has allowed us to work with producers from all over the world. Hence the title, "TimeZone".

TM - As far as writing the song goes usually one of us will come up with the idea of the song, write a verse or a chorus for it, and give it to the other person. We'll pass it back and forth a few times, adding different parts, or changing the layout of a song, then record it. Recording the song completely changes the song. Halfway through recording you'll realize that you want to throw a couple instrumental bars in, or you'll want to take out the drum track for the second verse or something. Sometimes a song will take two hours to make, sometimes it will take two months.

What is your favorite song to perform?

TM - The corner of broadway. When we recorded it I recorded the entire song as a story, but when we do it live we go back and forth on nearly every line. It's cool to deconstruct and recreate your own music. Bop!

AS - I like to do the 'Aw Man Aw Well' remix produced by my man Matthias Relling in Germany. That one goes back and forth too and it relates to most people’s current financial situation. Cheery-O.

TM - I'm broke again! Aw man!

AS - Aw well.

What is a crowd favorite?

TM - I Never Cared (About the Troubles). That's the track right there! Scamp made the beat and it is amazing! We could have rapped about lasagna and it still would have been a good song. Although people seem to like that song we have about lasagna too, so who knows.

AS - Yeah that song pretty much appeals to everyone’s ear buds! Nuff said.

You guys have built your own recording studio at your place, how’s that?

AS - It’s awesome because we can do everything music related from our house but it sucks sometimes because we can’t always rock out as loud as we want due to the neighborly situation. Overall, it’s pretty convenient, though.

TM - People don't like harmonicas at 4 in the morning.

What was it like to be picked up by a record company? How is it?

TM - It was a thrill at first. Then we quickly started to realize that we could do everything that they can do, but we can do it without wasting time in meetings or wasting money on other people's efforts. I mean, I work 8 hours a day at my day job, then come home and spend another 8 hours doing music. I have no social life and I can't remember what kissing feels like, but at the end of the day we're the ones deciding how much we get out of it, and where we want to go with it. It rules.

AS - Yeah record labels pretty much suck.

You guys did a little trip over to Europe in the fall. How did people take to your shows?

AS - We got a great response from the Euro-Folk! People actually get into live performances and music in general over there. I just wish that all girls here looked like the ones in Denmark... DAMMMMN!

TM - I dunno man, the girls around here are pretty top notch. Too fine to give me any time, hah!

What’s the biggest/most publicity performance you guys have done?

AS - Thats a 3-way tie between the Telus Ski and Snowboard Festival, the pilot we filmed for MTV, and the morning news show we did for Global. The TWSSF was good because it was our first main stage act for a festival, the MTV pilot was awesome because all our fans/friends showed up to make the crowd rowdy, and the morning news was good because that was probably the biggest audience we've ever played for. Either way, they're all fun and games until somebody gets too hammered and needs to be carried home!

TM - Or loses two iPods on the same night.

Do you guys get to ride much?

TM - Dude! I got a pass super early this year because I was so stoked to get up on the hill, and I still haven't gone up once! Right before all the snow came I bought myself a fancy new guitar, so I've been spending most of my weekends locked up in the studio with my head in the clouds.

AS - I bunged up my shoulder early on this winter so I won’t be shredding again until spring. That’s ok, it’s not like this has been a good season or anything. NOT!

TM - Double NOT! Good luck untying that one.

Where can we hear your music?

TM - Check out our myspace page. That's easy. http://myspace.com/animalnation.

Where can we buy your music?

TM - Order it online at myspace for a hard copy, or iTunes for digital. You can get it in most indie record shops. If it's not on the shelves of your favorite record shop hold the place hostage with a butter knife and demand that they stock it!

Your first Alterna snowboard movie came out in 2000, The Struggle.  Is it still a struggle today?

It’s always a struggle but we always find ways to overcome our challenges.
Creating snowboard films is definitely not the easiest of tasks, you have so many variables that need to come together for a film to be successful. Good light, snow conditions, crews that mesh well and solid sponsorship are only some of the various elements that need to work well in order to create a solid film.

What is a typical year like for you?

We pretty much film and travel from when the snow hits until around May of the following year. I guess that also depends on the type of snow year we are faced with, when we filmed Shrediquette a few years back we had the challenge of having hardly any snow, we were forced to go to Argentina in July to make up for lack of footage.

This year we traveled to Norway in July to get some "on the road" footy because we pretty much spent the whole season in Whistler.  Look out for the save of the century which took place on this trip care of JF FORTIN in the beginning of his segment.

As far as going to Vegas for the asr trade show we have been more successful gaining sponsorship outside of the show it seems its more of a good time than a time to do business.

Summers are now spent at our new office on the North Shore of Vancouver editing and going out fishing and boating as much as possible which is not that much.

One of my favourite video parts is Travis Williams in Breaking Ground.  Do you have any favourite parts or sections that really stick out for you in your past 8 projects?

I guess the parts that stick out the most right off the top of my head are Mike Page's Struggle segment, the Poland section in IN TRANSIT, Trav's Breaking Ground segment, JF's Reflection segment, Beardmore's Fast Food segment this year the new faces like Takaharu Nakai and Matt Belzile stood out.

Do you think the internet is killing the video star?

I know that more people are watching our films because of the internet and less people are buying them. When I was in Finland last year all the up and coming finnish groms all had burned copies of almost every snowboard film. Europe is always a step ahead with this technology and North America will follow.  We are hoping that added value to our packaging like the insertion of an Apples & Oranges bandana this year will encourage people to buy the DVD.

What do you see for the future of snowboard films?

In my opinion, online distribution is definitely the future of snowboard flicks. People want to see movies right away and if you have your computer connected to your TV like most will in the future buying and viewing your favourite film will be one click away.

The latest project coming out of Alterna is Apples & Oranges.  What can we expect?

We shot the film in true HD so that is also a new element. Expect a 20 plus video layered intro that will have you re-watching it for sure. This year in some of the segments especially in Matt Belzile's part we miked Matt for his entire part.  Apples & Oranges also has the most cable cams and dolly shots that we have ever employed in any of our productions.

How large is the crew that put it all together this year?

During the winter there are seven production people together and we also contract out additional help during the winter for certain sessions. Myself and Bryant Bell are full time in the office on the North Shore.

I noticed that you popped the question if people would prefer Blue-ray vs. HD-DVD.  What are you thinking of going with?

It looks like Blue Ray for North America and HD DVD for Europe. 720p Downloads were also a big request. We will be releasing an HD downloadable version of Apples & Oranges closer to Christmas.

What would you like people to take away from watching Apples & Oranges?

Hopefully after watching Apples & Oranges you get stoked to go out and shred for yourself.

Where and when can people come out to the premieres?

All premieres will be listed on our website www.alternaactionfilms.com

Any shout outs?

Big Shout out to all the riders, production crew and sponsors involved in supporting the creation of past Alterna films and our latest release Apples & Oranges.

About the film...

LOST AND FOUND is the story of the extraordinary season of 2006.07 as seen through the eyes of world-class skiers and snowboarders. With global drought persisting and ski resorts closing around the world, athletes are forced to follow the snow, sending them deep into the uncharted north country of Alaska and Canada – including of course – the
Whistler area. Filmed almost entirely in North America, LOST AND FOUND is a testament to the terrain and conditions that only exist in the Western Hemisphere.

It wouldn’t be complete without mind-blowing performances by some of our favourite Whistler athletes, Ian McIntosh, Dana Flahr, Kye Petersen, and Victoria Jealouse. McIntosh returns to try one-upping the films best breakthrough performance in last year’s film – his own – while Flahr is pumped on his return from injuries, and it shows. Once again, the Whistler crew pretty much shows the pros how we rock here in Whistler, and well, how last winter rocked us.
This film will take you into the vast, unexplored Tordrillo Mountains of Alaska, proving that some of the best big mountain riding in the world is still completely undiscovered. Athletes take advantage of the bountiful winter in British Columbia, hit disturbing park features in Aspen and score over-the-head powder pillows at Skeena Heliskiing.
The winter of 2007 was feast or famine; LOST AND FOUND documents the feast.

Sponsored by: JEEP, The North Face, Rossignol, Dynastar/Lange, Powder Magazine, Recco, Apple, Outside Magazine, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Burton
Local Sponsors: DYNASTAR, Glacier Shop, Rossignol, Whistler Blackcomb

2007.03.30 Friday

Free riding!♪

We went to Whistler mountain!Tadashi, Aki, Shota, Taro, and me Keiji.Contrary to the forecast, it was good weather today. It was the first time in a long time we went up the mountain because we have been shooting with our sleds lately. There were still so much good snow on the peak and it boost our spirits. We all hit the mogul slopes so our legs are so tired but we had so much fun. Some birds came to have lunch with us.Aki with Taro’s sun glasses. In the afternoon, we headed to the snowboard park.It was so crowded because it was sunny. The people there were so greedy to drop in that you couldn't tell when and who was dropping in. It was like a boarder cross race. After we went down the mountain, we had some beers and chicken wings.Chicken wings are so tasty! Some are spicy and some are sweet. When I went to Alaska, I ate chicken wings all the time.Everybody loved it.We had so much fun free riding. Riding with friends is the best!

  2007.03.28 Wednesday

Fair skies!!

We went shooting from early in the morning. Today, we set off as two crews. Tadashi, Aki, Taro in one crew, and Takumi, Shota, Keiji in another crew.It was a very clear day and so nice.

(^^) Takumi & Shota

We were able to shot some lines, jumps, and more. You’ll see!

03/27/07

 Nice day!

2007.03.27 Tuesday

Nice day!

It looked like it was going to be sunny so we all met early in the morning.Tadashi, Takumi, Shota, Taro(filmer) and me, Keiji.Aki recovered from his back problem and joined us.We shot a cliff, and an up jump, and rode some lines and explored some new places.

Tadashi and Aki rode double on a sled heading to a kicker. It was very steep like a wall. (^^;)

We came back around eight pm. I was soooo tired but it was fun. We’ll take another go at it tomorrow!!

03/26/07

2007.03.26 Monday

Another exhausting day.

This is Takumi! I went shooting via sled with Tadashi, Taro, Keiji, and Shota. The weather could've been better but we managed to get a few shots when the sun peeked out. It’s going to be sunny tomorrow, and we will go shooting from early in the morning! Gotta get a good night's sleep. Good night!

ROAD GAP

Hey it's Keiji! Yesterday, early in the morning, we went to check out the very famous road gap! The members were Tadashi, Takumi, Shota, Dice-K Maru (photographer), Taro-san (videocameraman) and me.

Tadashi can imagine how the landing would be. We came here for the first time in a year and...the slope is really big as I was expecting... If the gap is compared to a building, the building would be how many stories?(^^;) The snow around there was bad and it was dark, so we decided to try this next time when the condition is better. Before we left this gap, we played long cast with snow balls and we tried to hit a piece of wood. It looked easy but it’s not actually. We started to get pissed off that nobody was hitting the target! Tadashi hit the target first and he got beers from everybody! He used to be a pitcher so he was good. Taro-san was 3 base and also a switch-hitter. We threw too many snoballs, like a 100 and now I have pain in my shoulder. Shota was the worst and he has to buy coffees for us. It was raining so we took the day off today and I went to the skate park with Tadashi. Since the skate park is under ground, the air is not clean but we enjoyed ourselves and broke a sweat. Now my muscles are sore.

03/23/07

Snowing Whistler!

Today, we went to a spot where it took an hour by car. It’s nice to go somewhere different. It’s so exciting searching for a nice spot. It's so much fun. Today’s agenda was to hit some pillow lines and Shota and Takumi did some awesome cliff drops. Their lines were pretty cool. After that, we moved on in search of a better place but we couldn’t find any. It’s really hard to find a nice spot, I’m telling you. I want you to know this! (Though its fun trying...)

03/22/07

2007.03.22 Thursday

Hey, yo!This is Keiji the filmer again.I went filming today with Aki & Koni.It was cloudy but we shot some mushroom lines and pillow lines. We had to wait for the sunlight to drop in, and it was tough but we got some nice shots despite the conditions.

  ↓ ↓

In the afternoon, we looked for a place where no one had been to.We kept getting stuck again and again!

2007.03.21 Wednesday

I’m hungry----!We were filming too!!Yesterday, it was nice weather and we did some shooting. Our crew was Taro(video cameraman), Takumi, Shota and me(Tadashi). It was sooo much fun! Shota and Takumi are funny guys. They took forever to double up but they made it! I knew the brothers could do it. It’ll be fun to follow their carreers. Everybody, wait till you see the photos and videos! They are killing it!

03/21/07

2007.03.21 Wednesday

What a relief...We gathered at the parking lot at seven thirty in the morning. The members were Aki, Koni, Maru-san, and me(Keiji). The nice weather made us high. (^^)

The snow was deep and a lot nicer than we thought. No one had come out yet so we had to make our own track to get to the top.But before we arrived to the spot that we had marked out, the other crews like Devun Walsh, Chris Dufficy and Sandbox came one after another and the “spot race” began. Devun’s crew was so fast... They shot a nice spot without wasting any time. We have to be like that...

Aki did a jump and it caused an avalanche and he got carried away a little bit. I was so frightened but he wasn’t hurt at all and he continued to film until nightfall.

We all came back safely and our sleds had no trouble today.I realized the immense values in this.Alright! We will kick ass tomorrow by drinking yummy beer tonight!

DAY OFF

2007.03.20 Tuesday

This is Koni bringing you some news from Whistler under uninspiring weather.I’m at Tadashi’s place now. There are many books, DVDs, rare skateboard decks and some other interesting things. There's Grand Sumo tournament on TV, wow Kakuryu won by a frontal slap-down. It was quick. I took a day off today. The reasons was that my body got worked in last night's session, and the weather is bad. So I decided to go skateboarding in the evening. There is a skate park underground. “Under ground” it’s not just “Under ground” but on the third floor in the basement. We had to take the elevator to get down there, and it’s like going to a hideout. There is no fresh air so I can’t stay there for a very long time or I will get sick. So I just skate a bit and break a sweat and then take off. After I left the hideout I enjoyed coffee at Starbucks.I spend my days off like this. It seems to be bad weather tomorrow too.I want to go snowboarding!!! I’ll wake up at five o'clock am anyway with my fingers crossed!

03/19/07

Waiting for sunshine.

2007.03.19 Monday

Hey, This is Keiji.I went filming with Aki & Koni with our sleds.

We thought that in the morning it would be sunny so we left the house earlier than usual! The other filming crews were also gathering around the gas stand.

But when we got into the backcountry, there were more crowds than I thought and the visibility was very poor. We had to wait for the sunshine to get any filming done. Timing matters. It was tough to find the right timing for filming...

That night, Aki & Koni, Maru-san, Taro-san and I did some sessions at the Heart House.

Aki did a front side 180 and back side 180 from 50-50.Koni was trying to do some fun tricks like jumping over the wood rail. But he tried to jump over the last wood rail and bailed super hard.He fell dangerously but he was OK. Whew!Nice try, Koni!

  03/18/07

2007.03.18 Sunday

Hi, there! It’s Taro.(heart’s filmer)When I woke up yesterday morning, it was snowing hard so we(Takumi, Shota, Maru-san and me) thought we could do something so we went to shoot near the house by sled.

We looked around for a spot and then Maru-san suggested one.Takumi and Shota scoped the area while we prepared for the shoot, then the snow became rain!

Since it turned to rain, we went to look for another easier spot and found this place.

Maru-san and I were having a hard time protecting our cameras from the rain.Takumi and Shota tried some tricks although they were wet, and we were able to do some filming because of their effort.Takumi, Shota and Maru-san, you guys did a good job today!

 03/17/07

2007.03.17 Saturday

Snow...!!!Powder!

14cm of new snow!I was so excited about going to Blackcomb with Tadashi! The weather forecast said it was getting warm in the afternoon. But when we got to the parking lot, it was already raining. We reminded ourselves that: ”It is only raining down here, up there it is snowing for sure!” and jumped onto the lift. But unfortunately, it was raining all the way to the top!In addition, there were strong winds. The strong winds were killer. The rain spoiled the long-waited snow...That’s life. I hope we have another snow fall!

We had fun in our own way despite the bad snow.

We found this unique kid. His lift ticket is too long!Whistler kids have a lot of energy even though it’s raining.

03/16/07

2007.03.16 Friday

Yo!Hellooo. My crew (Aki & Koni and me-Keiji) went to another spot.We scoped for a place to shoot some fun tricks. The weather was getting bad in the afternoon so we played with our snowmobiles and came back. (^^)

This is the place where Tadashi, Aki, Maru-san and I camped out with our sleds last year.

2007.03.16 Friday

Wassuuuuuuup? This is Taro (filmer).Today’s members were, Tadashi, Takumi, Shota and me.We went up to the mountain and...shi*t! I fell!I bailed when I was driving up a long slope and my sled rolled down over my head! Thank God for my helmet! THANK YOU MY HELMET!After the sled hit me, the sled went down hill all by itself and ran straight toward Tadashi and Takumi with unbelievable speed.Thankfully the sled stopped before it hit Tadashi and Takumi. It was miracle!I was worried about my sled hurting my friends, or what if the sled got broken?! Luckily, nothing bad happened and my wound was only a scratch.

After that we filmed here.

Tadashi, Takumi and Shota did really nice tricks for a total of nine times and it was cool to see them ride in person! It was worth getting hit by my sled!! Thank you riders.I’m looking forward to editing this footage for everyone to see in our DVD!!Ladies and Gentlemen, please wait a little bit more. Thanks!! Three riders were caught in an avalanche.

03/15/07

2007.03.15 Thursday

Yo! What’s up? This is Keiji the heart film’s filmer.I went shooting with Aki, Koni, and Dice-K Maru today. It had been a while since it was cold and today was a very cold day so there were some cars on the side of the highway because they had slipped on the ice. Some areas of the highway were closed. It was pretty bad. The weather was awesome so that I thought it’s going to be a great day, but... it wasn’t. My sled had trouble and I felt disappointed and sad. At the end of the day, I got a good shot with Maru-san and everybody’s help.

2007.03.15 Thursday

Hellooo! This is Taro the heart film’s filmer/editor.I came to Whistler and now I’m crazy about filming and my MAC!!Recently, my life consists of shooting and coming back in the evening, taking a shower, drinking some beers, do some work on my MAC, and then going to bed.In the heart house, there are Aki, Koni, Shota (who got a new MAC lately), and Takumi, who joined us yesterday and me. It’s nice and comfortable.

In the morning, I was about to start my sled and I couldn't find my key! Damn, I did it again!!It was so nice today so I must go up to the mountain to shoot so I went to the snow mobile shop and spent 40 min. each way (by car) to make a spare key quickly and come back. I kept everybody waiting in the beginning of the day. I’m so sorry everybody!Today’s members were Tadashi, Takumi, Shota, Jeff- (Burton’s cameraman), and me.

The places were like this.

We remade the hip and started a session. The shape of the item was like spine at a skate park. It’s like two quarter pipes stacked. Can you imagine? Sorry for the poor explanation…

Everybody snowboarding??Before I go back to Canada, I went to the local mountain called “Crico Snowpark” at Yonezawa, Yamagata. It was a nice day of chilling and drinking beers and snowboarding. It was great!!! I gave Heart stickers away to everybody. I met some old guys who were hill climbing and had a party with them. They seemed very happy to drink beers!

03/02/07 moon park 02

2007.03.02 Friday

moon park 02

Hey, this is Keiji - the filmer for Heart Films. The Moon Park Session held from Feb.26th to 28th at Inawashiro was a hit!We were lucky enough to have our session in good weather at the Moon Park. We finished our shoot but we hope to continue with Moon Park and add extra features and keep making our ideas into reality. It is not a big space but there are many fun items. On the last day, I put aside my camera bag and had fun riding too!I liked the feature with the five jumps in a row. It was super fun to see all the riders do a whole bunch of tricks and one up each other and hit the jump all at once. It was crazy! The riders said that their heads were spinning doing so many back-flips!

03/02/07 moon park

2007.03.02 Friday

On the way back from the Moon Park… We stopped to shoot on the way back from the Moon Park Session.Aki, Shota, and Hiromi were there. Hiromi wasn’t in her best condition so she cheered us on.The spot was a deserted house. It's a spot that would be super scary at night, but under the fine sky it was a nice place to shoot. Aki chose the spot and Shota riigged it up and Hiromi cheered! The three riders had a fun time capturing some interesting images.

03/01/07 moon park

We just finished our 3 day shoot at “The Moon Park Session” with no problems.

The Moon Park Session was incredible! Tadashi Fuse’s vision for a fun park was built and created by “brave projects."All the “heart films” riders rode great and the filmers captured some sick shots for the DVD, HEART FILMS vol. 2!Transworld US cameraman Dice-K Maru and TWS Japan photographer, ZIZO, were there shooting the nonsense.Special thanks to everybody who came to the park!!The DVD and the photos will exceed your expectations!Don’t miss it!

CHILD SUPPORT" filming update May 22nd 2007

Last week we spent in the bush at camp Child Support. We filmed in the bush all week and people started to go a bit nuts but we got some good stuff of Risto, Sexton, Cartwright and Fredu.

Fredu and Risto then headed back to Finland for a well deserved fishing break. Simon and his brothers went back to Ontario to help dad put a new roof on the house and do some fishing too. Andre caught a fish that looks just like him. Poor Andre always catches the smallest fish.

Sollars and Wimbles are still going for it and Sexton has been getting into shooting photos as well. Sexton recently saw Shrek and turned himself into Shrexton.

Here is the wedge that took a few days to build and Simon is flexing beside it. Half of us are editing and the other half of us are still filming.

Ilari has been tanning and is looking for the woman of his dreams.. and California entrepreneur Chris Edmands is starting his own snowboard sock company called Wack Socks Inc. You can find prototypes of Wack Socks outside of Edmands’ truck every morning.

02 / Nippon Open 02

Konishi entered the Rail Jam but couldn’t win the prize money of $3000.He rode awesome and his riding was damn good as the spectators were goingoff! Every year after the Rail Jam there are fireworks set off. This year, it wasgreat as usual! A photo of the fireworks.

- from Natasza -I have seen so many people I've met before here in Alts Bandai...I saw Michiyo, Rieppe, Miki, someone else...I can't remember her name. I had a great time at the Nippon Open! The kicker was so poppy that you had to go into it with a lot of speed and then after that came a huge hip. There weren't any rails which isn't typical of a slopestyle event. But here in Japan it's called park style cause someone bought the rights to 'slopestyle' so they can't use it. I didn't make it past semi finals. I landed my run but I missed the grab on my frontside 540. This is how competing is...one simple grab or not can mean the difference between advancing to the next round or being eliminated. I'm not bummed to miss the podium but a little bummed because now I can't hit those jumps anymore. I met with Keiji and we're going to the moon shoot together and afterwards he said he would help me get to Narita airport. This is a photo of last nights karaoke session...20 sweaty people all screaming into the mic in a karaoke sauna!

01 / Nippon Open 01

Half pipe semifinal was held yesterday.Taka entered the semifinals in the rain but unfortunately he couldn’t go tothe finals. But he did hit the jump twice as high as anyone else and did some sickspins!

2007/02/22 NIPPON OPEN

Nippon Open Begins!

______________________________________________________________________________

Hello, this is Konishi.I came to the Nippon Open. There were qualifiers and semi finals for thePark Contest today. I didn't do well:( Despite the snow shortage, thejump and hip were a nice size;) But unfortunately I fell on all thelandings:( It’s not uncommon that I fell, but all the other Heart Films members alsowashed out! Now that's uncommon! But on Saturday’s rail jam, you’ll see!

On my way back, the sunset was nice and I took this picture. The color wasbeautiful!

Hey this is Shota!Today is the public practice session for the park for the Nippon Open.I went to the small park because the other main practice area was socrowded. I hit a small kicker and almost died but thank god for the slushysnow! I’m going to do a Triple-back flip tomorrow--! (Just Kidding!)Come and see me! ___________________________________________________________________________

Waiting for the sun…

We went to a new spot today! The members were Tadashi, Aki, Futa and Keiji (filmer). We hiked to find a fun spot and found a nice slope for a jump. We made akicker and filmed.

The weather wasn’t good. The sun come out once in a while. We had to wait around for the sun to get good footage.

We had a hard time waiting for the sun and it tampered with the rider'sconcentration.

They could only hit the jump a few times in the daylight. The riders killed the jump despite their difficult situation. (^^)

ファーストジャンプでBs180を決める忠 / Tadashi did a backside 180 on the first jump.

Today, the waiting time was very long and tiring. It was a tough filming day…

Tomorrow will be the last day in Hokkaido!Tadashi is going to Arutu to go to the NIPPON OPEN.We hope for some sunny skies!

Preview party

[:わーい:] _____________________________________________________________________________

We held a small preview party for the 06/07 HEART FILMS at Yorozuya inTakeonsen. There were about 60 snowboarders from Kagoshima to Fukushima.Tadashi Fuse, Takashi Nishida and Miki Taguchi were there too.

2007.02.16

FridayHaving Lunch at KAMAKURA (snow cave) Hello!Tadashi, Jun, Numaku (photographer) and Keiji went to Tokachidake from themorning. (^^)It was windy and bad weather, but in the trees there was no wind at alland very nice.We shot sprays of powder, mushroom lines, and whatever we could shoot inthose conditions.

It was snowing so we made a snow cave to have lunch.

The snow cave was lower than we thought that we had to bend our neckforward while we ate. :)

Takumi and Taro-san were shooting around Sapporo.Tomorrow will be sunny! We will all get together and do our best!

  2007/02/15

2007.02.15

Thursday Stormy…??

According to the forecast, today’s weather is supposed to be stormy, butit’s calm.Until yesterday the temperature had been minus 17 or something but it’splus today. It’s a bit like spring in the town. The weather forecast can’t be right… Today, we went to look for some good points. BUUUUUUUT… Went to the point which we had marked out, but actually it’s not that good.At other spots, snow was no good either. We can’t find good spots easily… We drove the car here and there but couldn’t find any spots and no shootingtoday. Too bad. Maybe tomorrow.

Tadashi was thinking that he would do something.

We happen to find the iced water fall. That was really something.

2007/02/14

Run and run.

It’s cold! Another cold day today. :)

We left Asahikawa to look for good areas by car.First, we went up north toward Nayoro.

We shot an artificial log along the way, but mostly we continued on.We saw an iced waterfall. (That was my first time seeing a frozenwaterfall.)We drove nearly 400Km today.

It seems to be bad weather starting tomorrow.Hope to have snow to make everything new!

2007/02/13

2007/02/09

in hokkaido

3rd Day filming in Revelstoke.

______________________________________________________________________________ Today was a sunny day!We went to a new spot. We were looking for a spot where we could film ice covered trees in the nicemorning sun except all the spots were flat. At the end of the trail there was an overhanging cliff that I had never seenbefore. We could have filmed that but we kept going. We need to learn thetrails and learn from our experiences here. We'll keep gong tomorrow!

Shota's filps ! Nite shoot at the HEART films house.Shota flips a no foot and lands 15 feet down a sketcky icy driveway!SICK!!!

\shotas flips01

We hung out at the HEART House.

この日は、カメラマンのジゾーとYuho(参加差し入れピザありがとう)!!

TAROSAN - FilmerI planned to shoot Takumi and Shota in front of the HEART House since wemoved in and finally we were able to set everything up. Last night we filmed in Vancouver at GROUSE Mt. so we spent the day preppingthe site so we can have a night shoot. Today we had two photographers, ZIZO and Yuho. (Thanks for the PIZZA!) Thanks for shooting despite the cold!

Takumi and Shota were hitting 2 different spots. Shota was trying a no footflip down a 15ft icy driveway and Takumi was trying a gap to wooden handrailto dropping onto the same icy landing! Shota landed his knarly trick. Itwas SICK!!!

shota_nofoot

これがその瞬間です!!This is the sick shot!

Next Takumi gapped 12ft onto a sketchy wooden rail 15ft above a flat icydriveway. The gap was knarly for he needed to hike up into the woods andride down an icy path through the woods to get enough speed to gap onto thewooden rail. Check out the footage in HEART FILMS vol. 2! www.heartfilms.com

4th Day Filming at Revelstoke

[:イヒヒ:]映像にも残っているのでお楽しみに!_____________________________________________________________________________

This is Kony! The conditions were not too good today:( We thought we would take the dayoff but we found a super fun jib 30 seconds from our hotel so we had funjibbing that. This is Keiji. We filmed a lot of miscellaneous items from the junk yard. Kony had somepretty strange balancing acts and it was pretty funny. [:イヒヒ:] Check it out inHEART Films vol. 2!

The last day filming in Revelstoke.

_______________________________________________________________________

The last day filming in Revelstoke. Today we checked out a spot that the sled necks were jumping with theirsleds. It was pretty COOL. We had to cross the highway and continue on thetrail forever! It was super far to the top of the mountain. The trails were crazy bumpy all the way and it was torture! It was a SBXfor sleds. We pushed on harder and harder...It was like we were in atraining club![:ニョロ:] We usually ride about 100km with our sleds to film. Today we filmed a cliff. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, Tadashi decided to leave Revelstokeasap. Keiji and Tadashi drove non stop and made it into Whistler 4 in the morning. They drove for 10 hours! Too long!!! They endured and stayed awake. They kept hallucinating and were on anatural high that made both of them think they were going CRAZY. Non stop filming for 5 days in super hard sledding conditions to a non stop10 hour drive...TADASHI is a super tough guy...MEGA TOUGH! It reminded usof our Alaska Trip last season...CHECK IT OUT in Heart Films vol. 1. Thanks for driving and getting everyone home safely, Tadashi!!! Our road trip was a success. Despite our non stop schedule, we discovered alot of new terrain and everyday was super exciting! ROB, GORDIE, DAVE...We appreciate your help!!! Thanks to Natasza for lending Keiji a sled so last minute! Translated by Sachi and Yuho.

CELSIUS is once again a proud sponsor of MDP's "We're PEOPLE Too", the latest installment in the PEOPLE series. This flick features CELSIUS riders Jon Kooley and Jordan Mendenhall. PEOPLE Seth Houth also filmed with the MDP folk on the "Picture This" project.

Chris Dufficy just wrapped up his part in the new WHITEOUT FILMS movie, and that film too is gonna be bananas, just ask uncle DD.

_____________________________________________________________________
AWESOME!!!  Revelstoke is a sled neck's paradise!  The parking lot was fullof sled necks and the testosterone levels seemed high:)We were charged to use the trail sort of like a lift ticket at a resort.ROB guided us to the trail head.  We continued further but carefully for it was our first time. The snow was better than what we expected.  We filmed a couple of spots.  We were super exhausted by the time we got home for we sledded with extra care compared to sledding in Whistler. We are going to drink a few beers and go to bed early:)YEAH!!!  Super excited for tomorrow!

_________________________________________________________________________

_______________________________________________________________________
We went to the mountain to film today.  It was cloudy going up the mountain but sunny on top.  That was so nice!Kony is having a hard time everyday struggling with his sled.  He is keenand tries super hard though despite getting bucked off his sled so many times! Kony and Tadashi filmed a cliff that was super steep and it looked sick! They hiked non stop so they seem pretty tired today.  We were all completelyworn out by the time we hit the parking lot...Tadashi whipped up some tomato pasta for dinner and it was so good!  We areso full.  We hope the weather will be good and sunny tomorrow!

On februar 8/2007 we (Team Hall Factory: Timo (rider) Andi (camera) Janna (supporting) and myself (camera) ) decided to leave school to go to the outdoor swimming pool in the town next to my home town.

We are on to make a video to get our friend Timo K. sponsort.
After a lot of filming in an Indoor-Skihall we were planning to film some handrail.
Searching for a good rail, Timo decided to ride one of the handrails in the outdoor swimming pool. After climbing over the fence we checkt the place out to make sure there are no other "spectators". It was the only snowfall this winter, so the drive we build wasnt that good, and it was also not very cold and it was bout to rain, so we had to hurry. Two dudes had to drag Timo, that he got enough speed for the jump.
Every thing work very well and in the end we got 25 min of film material and a bunch of great photos , cold feet and Timo hurt his knee. (We even filmed from the top of the diving platform)
So check out my photos and the short video (for video search for member: teamhallfactory  .!!!) of Timo K. riding!
